8 months with my 2024 EcoBoost, I LOVE it! I've had two 4.6 GT's, this is faster. I do miss the V-8 thunder but love everything else about the car. I'm getting used to the turbo 4's little growl. The car is solid, gorgeous, easy to live with, and I got 40mpg on a road trip to San Diego! Light years better than my older Mustangs. I call this my "grown up" Mustang. Real world stop and go city driving in Los Angeles I get about 21, used to get 12mpg in my last GT.
The tires are cheaper. The brake pads are cheaper. The EcoBoost takes 6 quarts of oil in a change. The V8 takes 10. Pretty much across the board the EcoBoost is significantly less cost to own. And you lose what? 2 tenths of a second to 60 mph? Virtually meaningless in the street. I'd take the EcoBoost hands down.

This is such a hard decision for me. I want a v8, always have, but I test drove both and I was honestly very impressed with the ecoboost. They're both quick, they're both fun, and with the active exhaust on the ecoboost it sounds nice and gets good mileage for a mustang. Coming from an '08 mustang v6 with 210HP (which has probably degraded over the years) I feel like I'd be happy with either. Did it ever cross their mind that maybe that person has a V8 in their fleet? I got a pair of late 6th Gen Camaros. I like cruising in a nice looking daily too so I don't have to wait for the weekend. I don't know why these guys get so cringe when they see a V6 or 4cyl, childish. I couldn't imagine trying to scope out one and try to intimidate them.
@@twins4life274 it's a funny world.
Not buying another Mustang till they drop 500 lbs.
