You can use the volume adjustment to compensate for the particular situation. Some times you will need more bass and sometimes you will need less. So simply adjust the top and bottom to compensate for any given situation. This advice is valid and universally applicable.

Hi. Your videos are great, with great reviews! Greetings from Brazil! Do you think that's possible a band play with 4 TS415 and no sub's, indoor with about 250 - 300 people? (Band = vocals, guitar, bass and acoustic drums)
I own ts415s sir 5 months old. They have amazing bass and liking them till now! Question 1: I always keep the speakers knobs max and control volume from the mixer instead of always reaching to speaker. Is it the right way to do? Question 2: most of the time I can't see the lights on the speaker, which makes it hard to know if I'm hitting the limiter. Do they have inbuilt limiter? To not blow up?
FOR SAFETY PURPOSES KEEP YOUR SPEAKERS AT 1 OR 2 OCLOCK. NEVER MAXIMISE THE SPEAKERS CONTROL VOLUME. THE MIXER MASTER VOLUME IS THE ONE THAT SHOULD CONTROL THE PEAKERS. WHEN YOU INCREASE THE SPEAKERS VOLUME THEY TEND TO CREATE HISS, SOMETHING THAT YOU DON'T WANT.
The correct method to do this is to get the gains on all the channels on your mixer adjusted properly, set the mains fader to zero, then bring up the levels on your speakers until you get to the volume you are going to want for the show, then add a notch or two to give yourself a little wiggle room. Digital mixers like QSC Touchmix, Behringer X-Air, X32 Yamaha TF and so on need to be run such that no meter ever hits zero, so with those mixers you will usually end up running most speakers a few clicks past zero for full live bands in noisy venues. Since Alto chose not to put any marks at all on their level knobs, you're just going to have to do this by trial & error. Probably around the 2 o'clock position. You can run the cheap analog mixers quite a bit hotter, so you might find that your speakers can be set correspondingly lower. Sounds like you might benefit by watching a few videos on setting gain structure for live sound. That would help you clear up this question in your mind.

hello mate, first off love the channel and the videos, i have found them informative. A question on these speakers. My 3 piece hard rock band runs a full digital mixer setup (XR12) that does both our IEMs, with no amps (cab sims) and when we run gigs and small clubs / pubs (up to 150 people typically) we hire 2 x QSC K12's and put our sound guy out in the crowd to control our mix. This works amazing and is great, but i want to purchase our own speakers. Noting that the TS415 has a SPL max of 136, and the K12 has a max of 129, but that the K12s are high end speakers, compared to the price of these, hers my question. In your honest opinion, will 2 x TS415s do a credible job at pumping our whole band sound out at venues like the above? many thanks
Pensaba lo mismo...y la duda era entre 2 ts412 y luego sumar un sub o directamente alcanzaría con dos ts415. Que hicieron ustedes? Cómo fue su experiencia?
I use a QSC Touchmix 16 mixer to drive my TS315's and they sound great at high volumes (3-4 o'clock). I recently bought the 415's and when set to line level, the signal is TOO LOW even when all mixer volumes are way high up. So I needed to switch it to MIC level and dial it at 2-3 o'clock to get a decent volume for my band. It sounded good but I worry that it will produce distorted sound on higher levels. I'm even thinking that the 315's are better to use in a full band setup. The "Bluetooth Pairing" volume was louder and funny it kept saying while during our performance. Question: How do I set it up to line level and get a decent volume output? Or is it safe to use the mic level for a full band gig?
My last set of speakers were the ZLX-BT EV 12’s with 1000 Watts. Not a fair comparison but my Alto TS415’s blow the EV’s out and it’s not close. I believe the Alto’s run at continuous at 1500 Watts, not the 2500 it advertising. Very impressed with these.
I'm searching a speaker for my church. We seat about 400-500 people. i'm searching for a speaker that doesn't have a whole lot of bells and whistles like BT and EQ because I don't really need those and I can always EQ from the mixer. Just a good quality speaker that prioritizes sound quality. Which would you recommend?

I need some help choosing Between this alto and Mackie srm215 for an event around 200 people indoor. I love mackie but I see the difference in pricing is ridiculous for the price I can get 2 altos plus subwoofer instead of the 2 mackies I was planning on buying.. should i go with this alto?
It's like looking at Trucks F150 (TS415) 80 to 95 continuous DB vs F350 (SRM215) You are paying for the continuous DB output of 110 to 130. By the way, they both sound Great. are you looking at 200 at a hall for a meeting or is it like 200 people at a wedding with 50 to 75 on the Dance floor? TS415 is fine but for 200 people at a dance party, you need the SRM215 and rent a couple of Subwoofers for the Night.
@@expertisland yes it's a party with 200 people and knowing my people 100-150 dancing 😬. Thank you so much i will be getting the mackies. im starting on this and thank you for all the knowledge you share
Here is the funny thing ... If all you have owned are Altos you will think that they are pretty good. I know this because I DJ and do sound for several bands that use them. Eventually I had a pair of Alto's and a pair of JBL and EV speakers. When I did comparisions it was like night and day. The Alto's were easily inferior in sound. I did notice something was off on a singer that I had heard 20 times or more on the Alto's. In this case you get what you pay for. The Alto's do indeed work and you can do shows with them but once hearing the other more expensive brands you will see what you are missing. IMO the two most important parts of the audio chain are the first and last. So in this case the microphone and the speaker. Give a singer a crap microphone and they will never do their best with it, same with the speakers. In all fairness most people in the audience probably won't notice but because of my familiarity with the singers and the music I always notice the sound quality at a show.
Anyone, I have a question and need help. How much electrical power do you need to power 4x TS415 with 2x TS18S. Can you simply plug this on home electrical outlet??? Is notthis going to blow your house fuses? is not there some risk in doing so? I find this question fairly hard to answer. Which is why I am seaking for help here. I would gretly appreciate your advises...
Funny. It works if you don't make to loud. It's like taking break in a car when you drive 200 it need a lot more way to break like 100. Not proportional. So from 100 db it goes fast up in the watts.
@expertisland No problem, I ended up buying the 215. I couldn't decide which to buy The Mackie or Alto . Great Videos loads of solid, honest reviews and information keep up the good work. I also bought an alto bluetooth cheers Dave
Being a Yamaha and Alto distributor I can say the TS4 has more sound pressure than the DBR and almost has much output as the DXR. But Yamaha has a more balanced sound, the Alto is a bit agressive on the HF part but nothing you can't correct with the internal DSP.

Noting that the TS415 has a SPL max of 136, and the K12 has a max of 129, but that the K12s are high end speakers, compared to the price of these, hers my question. In your honest opinion, will 2 x TS415s do a credible job at pumping our whole band sound out at venues like the above? many thanks
Hey mate, I've just ordered a pair of these. My cousin's heavy metal band play medium to large venues and these work just fine.
@@lewisjohnson9087 thanks for the advice mate, appreciated!
You need to find the option on your mixer to switch your -10DBV to +2DBu and turn off the BT Audio voice I covered that in the TS412 video.
@@expertislandhola, dices que eso está en un vídeo?
Will these work for a 5 piece band playing through a mixer. 3 guitars, bass, and an electric drumset. I’m on a budget and can’t afford jbl or Qsc.
2 guitars max I think. ;)
My last set of speakers were the ZLX-BT EV 12’s with 1000 Watts. Not a fair comparison but my Alto TS415’s blow the EV’s out and it’s not close. I believe the Alto’s run at continuous at 1500 Watts, not the 2500 it advertising. Very impressed with these.
your TS415 blew the EV out in what ways? Loudness? Clarity? Bass?
What do you think about this vs the harbinger 3415, which one would you prefer?
I have a digital mixer x air xr18 connected to alto Ts415 in Line using XLR cable, but why it is not working?
Sorry I don't do Behringer. but no problem working together.
How are these for a Roland Edrum Kit ?
Do you need both speakers to be Bluetooth. I bought the TS 415 today but i also have a TS 315. Can the TS 415 control the TS 315. Thanks.
not via the Bluetooth.
This would be the speakers to get
Help me choose between Altos TS415 vs EV ELX 200-15 vs JBL EON 715 vs Harbinger Vari v4115.
You have videos on all these, and now it is time to tell me which one you believe is best irrespective of price.
That’s a great question, I will try to address option in a video this week or next.
Also definitely curious as to how the alto TS 4:15 Stacks up with the JBL Eon 715 there's really not a lot of videos in English about the Aeon 700 series @@expertisland
Hi Robin, I would like to buy a power speaker for home karaoke. What is the brand & model that you recommend?
I wanna get these speakers, I have a pair of tx308 am I able to connect them all together?
How do these compare to Yorkville yxl15p?
Robin. Have you considered reviewing Rockville speakers?
Expert Island I’ve read good reviews on this speaker. I do 100-200 ppl weddings, on occasion outdoors but primarily indoors. Would a pair of these do the job?
Which one is good TS412 or TS415 for personal use only specially karaoke without using subwoofer, thank you im hoping you can reply.
For up close playing Like Karaoke I would go with the TS412, just sounds nicer when 8ft or less from the speaker.
Strongly recommend using a sub with 12 top for home, unless you live in a condo or town house.
I have a powered mixer of 400 watts and have 2 Cerwin vega 12 with horns im running which ae not powered speakers. If I get 2 Jbl eon 615 speakers can I run them with my other speakers as I only do a solo acoustic guitar show. Just want to make sure I dont blow the Jbl speakers. i saw someone say dont use a powered mixer. thanks
You need to find the pre-amp output for the powered jbl speakers. You can reply with the model of the mixer.
It's a Rockville rpm870
Thank you I just bought th TS410 but am going to take them back and get the Ts415. I have a question can you pair more than 2 speakers in Stereo Remote connection? Let's say 4??
Thinking of buying the ts410's. Why are you taking them back?
@@matthewsalmon431 They sound good. I have an outdoor venue and need more power. I bought them with a promise that if I would not like them or they where not big enough they would take it back. I liked the sound but need more. So I decided to go bigger right away.
@@expertislandI just tested my own Alto TS415 on a decibel meter and it showed 115 continuous decibel with no limiter blinking. I tested on EDM Music
Just curious which one is better alto ts 415 or qsc k10.2 always watch you videos
Qsc are concert grade alto not worth it go to guitar center
Ts 415 mi Audio center ma 15 mi ? Teşekkür ederim
What size tripods are you using?
In all fairness most people in the audience probably won't notice but because of my familiarity with the singers and the music I always notice the sound quality at a show.
what are the things that are inferior in the alto speakers when compared to JBL and EV ?
En nuestro caso solo serviría para la primera y segunda hora de show, luego estámos todos borrachos y solo importa que el volumen sea fuerte jajaj
Alto TS415 or LD systems ICOA 15?
i see he is avoiding the question ... too bad, i was wondering myself
where's the review for the TS18s Subwoofer..?!!
Comings up at the end of the week
I have the ts18 s wow bang for buck olny thing I don’t like there is no hpf
Anyone, I have a question and need help. How much electrical power do you need to power 4x TS415 with 2x TS18S. Can you simply plug this on home electrical outlet??? Is notthis going to blow your house fuses? is not there some risk in doing so? I find this question fairly hard to answer. Which is why I am seaking for help here. I would gretly appreciate your advises...
Funny. It works if you don't make to loud. It's like taking break in a car when you drive 200 it need a lot more way to break like 100. Not proportional. So from 100 db it goes fast up in the watts.
Is there reverb?
How would u compare these to the Harbinger VARI V4115 cheers

Can I use Bose Sub1 Bass Module on TS412 Alto ?

Hello dave, I'm not going to be buying the thump215 for now for the showroom. Price point is a little high for the product.
@expertisland No problem, I ended up buying the 215. I couldn't decide which to buy The Mackie or Alto . Great Videos loads of solid, honest reviews and information keep up the good work. I also bought an alto bluetooth cheers Dave
How is the 215 performing, specially base wise? I have doubts between the alto and Mackie. Thanks in advance @@66trooper
Hi , i have 2 jbl eon 615's , is it worth selling these and purchased 2 alto's 415 greetings
If you have had your Eon615 for 3 years and you used them every week, Time to replace. At that point Yes alto is a good option for a replacement.
How does this compare to EV zlx 15
I would have no problem taking the TS415 over the Zlx15bt at this point.
This or the Mackie Thump215?
Very similar
Which is better?
This alto TS-415 or harbinger vari V3415???
Features are better on the V3415, but I have not done a head to head, but it will be close.

Last longer if volume low on your speaker use mixer for out put sound
Hy, when comparing the altos to Yamaha speakers, what range would be the most comparable? And how is the sound compared to the other brands?
the alto would be somwhere between the DBR and DXR series
Being a Yamaha and Alto distributor I can say the TS4 has more sound pressure than the DBR and almost has much output as the DXR. But Yamaha has a more balanced sound, the Alto is a bit agressive on the HF part but nothing you can't correct with the internal DSP.
@@MICHAEL-t3y9yI know this may sound like a weird comparison, but would you say that the Yamaha DZR15 a big step up from this Alto model? I’m not overly concerned about the price difference, I’m just trying to determine whether the premium is justified. Gonna be using them for events, and adding subs at a later date.
Is it made in canada what we have is from china
I'm In Canada The Speakers are Made in China
But main pont is that it designed in USA

Great video as always! Using my surround sound system, it appears to be a little boomy! I might be wrong but my observation! Great video!!!
The speaker was in dj mode to help with the audio recording ,so I can see how it could come over as boomey on a home theater system.
is it 110 or 220?
Alto has them preset to the region they are being sold in but can be switched I have a video showing How to switch from 110/120 to 220/240 th-cam.com/video/WzS9uPHqHHk/w-d-xo.html
