Kadokawa Owners of FromSoftware Hacked with 1.5TB Data Stolen and Will Release on July 1st

- The BlackSuit ransomware gang claimed a recent cyberattack on KADOKAWA corporation and is now threatening to publish stolen data if a ransom is not paid.
KADOKAWA is a Japanese media conglomerate that operates numerous companies in film, publishing, and gaming industries, such as FromSoftware, the maker of Elden Ring.
Almost three weeks ago, the company reported that "multiple websites of the KADOKAWA Group are currently experiencing service outages" due to a cyberattack on June 8.
The incident impacted most of the company's and its subsidiary's operations as they were hosted in the same data center, which were encrypted by ransomware. The impacted companies included the popular Japanese video-sharing platform Niconico, first reported by TheRecord.

Nah ransomwares groups don't do that cause their whole credibility rest on holding their end of the bargain. If they break it once they never get paid again. Only amateurs pull that kind of move.
The problem then arises the private data that’s been leaked about employees. I’m assuming sensitive stuff like SSN, addresses, bank account info etc. Shit is way more serious than just info about games from FromSoftware….

It always happen to many average people. Its just that we only care if it hits "good hard-working" people. And its not really their fault. This whole ransomware shit is just getting more sophisticated over the years, simply because it is one of the easiest way to get millions of money by exploiting not regularly updated systems. Hell even people with no tech background can go enter this ransomware business as long as they have little but enough money to pay hackers.

If we covered every single "average" people we'd be drowned out in articles of the same kind. I don't think you realize that "good hard-working people" here includes every single one of those average people-as you called them, who are working under this company. Their livelihoods are all on the line including their future income if any projects they have ongoing get damaged due to this hack. I don't know if you even though about the possibility. But if a company has to scrounge up money to pay an exorbitant amount of ransom money, it likely usually doesn't come from the pockets of the people above. It would be much easier for them to cut off a ton of bottom-tier workers and recoup the money from there, since they can just re-hire new workers willing to start at the bottom.
@@xeqqail3546 wrong, most "hacks" occur due to social engineering attacks. Weak IAM (Identity Access Management) policies and no investment on cybersecurity education for company employees are the main issues for this type of hacks to occur.

It is hinted at more than Radahn being charmed at least. Content in the letter to Freyja makes Freyja want to help Miq bring back Radahn. Ansbach who knows how Miquella's charm look and who knew Radahn from before addresses him as a person and doesn't every mention a possibility of Radahn being charmed. And Malenia most likely attacked Caelid because Radahn wanted to Die in a war because what Miquella is doing requires his Consort to come back into a new vessel. And Radahn probably agreed due to his admiration of Godfrey who was an Elden Lord and that way he would become closer to Godfrey.
Not to mention that Radahn had some cut dialogue where he says he is "Lion bred for Battle" which clearly shows how hungry for fighting he is and Freyja herself mentions that endless Battle fits Radahn more and she is one of his oldest friends.
Also it explains why he made an oath with Jerren. It was a precaution in case Malenia fails to kill him and that oath already shows that Radahn wanted to Die for some reason and now we have the answer why.

KADOKAWA is not going to pay. In this kind of scenario companies doesn't pay, because that would just make these hackers more greedy and unstoppable. Paying would set a bad example.

You should never pay the ransom because it just emboldens hackers to do it more. Unfortunately, almost all companies will pay.
I agree it emboldened other groups if paid, and there is likely no chance the ransomer will either give the data back or most likely copied it beforehand. Which then can be sold to other parties on the highest bidder before leaking it all...
