I have watched so many tutorials for this for "thick hair" only to see that the person doing it actually doesn't have thick hair. Yours doesn't even mention thick hair in the title and you have gorgeously thick hair and you explain it so we thick hair girls can actually do it! I always have to use 3 hair ties just for a pony tail so I'm loving that you bring that up in this tutorial. Fantastic!! New subbie!

BeautyNBaseball Jessica Lee I thought the same thing!! I have super thick hair so all those other videos never help, I leave them laughing at their not so thick hair. Her hair is actually thick, and so beautiful!
This would fall down after 5 minutes for me :( the weight is just too much i guess. I know everyone has different definitions of Thick but i actually thought she has long beautiful but rather thin hair plus the layers lighten stuff up :D if anybody has ideas on how to keep buns longer than 5 mins im here for it

Having thick & long hair makes messy buns difficult. This is the only tutorial that has actually worked and looked cute! Amazing! Thanks!!!
You're welcome :) I agree! It really has to do with the elastics you are using too! If you have thick hair you really need to use the thicker elastics because the thin ones won't hold your hair in :)

Messy buns for some reason always turn out the best when you don’t try but when you do try it doesn’t come out as good 🥲
problem is,
my hair is too thick to stay in a pony tail. it just makes annoying lumps and i’ve never been more angry at anything than my hair.

I'm so excited! I'm a 17 yr old with semi long really thick hair and I see other girls at school with messy buns and I've struggled to figure it out for sooo long! No tutorial would work. It was always to neat or to lose. I'm also the kind of person who struggles with effortless messy because I have to be at a certain point between neat and messy or I hate it. But I LOVE this. Just tried it on my hair and it actually looks pretty good. Thank you so much!

I dont have thick hair and I aways end up looking stupid when trying a messy but. I was in a rush and decided to try again, come to this video and it looks amazing! I keep getting complaments at school and it was so eazy to do! Thank you! The problem I was mosty havimg was using too big of pony tails and twising the hair allot then putting it up (like a cinnamon roll) thanks so much for this method!

Took me a couple tries bc I couldn’t see the top while you were finishing the bun, but this is the BEST messy bun my hair has ever turned out😭

I am 42 and this it the best video I have seen so far. I love the look of the messy bun, but I just can't get it right and this really made it so simple. the other videos out there have way too many steps filled with dry shampoo and bobby pins and I was like wth? How is that a simple look? that was work! lol I do not have the time or the patience anymore for all that mess so thank you so much for keeping this so simple!!!

I cannot for the life of me do cute, and in style hairstyles on myself. I can do this tutorial but it would look better if I had my longer hair. I cant believe everything you said about how the messy bun is never the way you want it if you’re going out. You said exactly what I always say...my messy bun looks exactly how I like it when I’m just hanging out around the house, I don’t even have to look in the mirror sometimes to get it right, but when I actually work on trying to make it look like I want it, if going out, it never looks like my “hanging around the house” bun. Lol and I loved the video! :-)

I love this. I have hair to my waist and just thick strands and hair in all lol. I can a good bun but I’ve been looking for one good way to try it I do mine all kinds of ways and it kind of makes it hard to have the same out come of a nice bun lol.

Even though it didn’t work, I’m glad I watched this and I’m definitely subscribing. I have thick hair and I buy special ponytails for thick hair. If I used normal ones I wouldn’t be able to get it around my hair twice to I’m glad I can relate to you on that point. The only reason it didn’t work is because I was using my special thick hair ones and it could wrap around my hair when I tried to do the second ponytail. Everyone’s hair is different though!

Omfg, so true, I usually use scrunchies that are the same color as my hair to make it easier, I also just hide the scrunchie with my hair.

Your hair is absolutely beautiful! I use to have hair just like that, but now it's loosing it's thickness because I straighten it. I wish I could rock it like you do! Haha.
Thank you so much! Believe it or not it used to be thicker.. I always used to flat iron it.. But cut back awhile ago bc I noticed it losing its thickness. Cutting back on the flat ion has helped, you try to cut back a little & see if it helps! Thanks for watching :)
