ITALY. THE HONEST REALITY ABOUT LIVING in a SMALL ITALIAN VILLAGE. LIVING in ITALY.

- LIVING in an Italian village is very different to living in a large city like Rome or Milan. It seems like these cities have nothing to prove, while small villages continue to have a big stigma and often people dismiss them altogether or look at them in disbelief of any hope for the future.
This is my point of view. I hope it helps you shape your perspective!

“Often you will find that the miracle itself is just to be able to be here.” I had to write it to retain such perfect wisdom. ❤
This may be the first video I have seen youth involved. It must be difficult to be young in a small town...anywhere! Your comments were very insightful. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching.
For what I can see they grow up respectful and confident. Overall well-rounded.
There is that strength in them even at a young age that only comes from having a loving and supportive family.
Most of them have access to the benefits of bigger cities and know that when the day comes they will go to a bigger city for university. Some others that will prefer to stay closer to home will go to uni at Termoli (20min away) or Campobasso (50min away).
Fiorella, your commentary was beautiful and inspirational. I will leave you with this quote by Virginia Wolf:
"Whatever happens, stay alive.
Don't die before you're really dead.
Don't lose yourself, don't lose hope, don't lose direction. Stay alive, with all of yourself, with every cell of your body, with every fiber of your skin. Stay alive, learn, study, think, build, invent, create, speak, write, dream, design. Stay alive, stay alive inside you, stay alive outside too, fill yourself with the colors of the world, fill yourself with peace, fill yourself with hope.
Stay alive with joy. There is only one thing you must not waste about life, and that is life itself."❤🇮🇹
That is a beautiful quote Jerry ☀️
Much of the rhythms of life in Italy are linked to the seasons. It's lovely to see things happening there.
Absolutely
Grazie! Really great narrative! "are you a tourist or a visitor?" Most of my friends are rapid tourists traveling around the world but IMHO not experiencing the local culture as a visitor. Many years ago on my first visit to Italia, I would go down to the piazza around 1700 and just be friendly and try and chat with the locals and ask them about their life first...not tell them about my life. They did not pay money to listen to my life, but, I paid money to visit their life!
The town looks very well kept, bright and welcoming. You are a very mature, sensible lovely couple to appreciate the great and simple things in life - most of us only reach this enlightenment when much older. But I’m sure it’s not all rainbows and unicorns everyday either 😊. Thanks again for capturing the poignant and beautiful snippets of village life
Ciao Carmel. You're right, not everything is perfect. I think that life is a balancing act regardless of where we are ☀️
Excellent! So true! I'm tired of the large cities. Thank you for this perspective.
My pleasure!
Really nice perspective. I cannot wait to move to my place in rural Umbria and embrace what it has to offer. I look forward to contributing to my community. I appreciate how you remain being open to your local life.
Wonderful!
I LOVE this video. You really showed the everyday life there which I love to watch. I do like when you show properties but I love seeing the village life and celebrations better. Thank you for your wonderful content. I look forward to more videos like this one and maybe surrounding areas. 👍🏻😊🇮🇹
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love, love, loved this video and peek into parts of the life of your little town. You have given us a great little tour of the beautiful town and surroundings as well as into the life of the town which is so difficult to see when you come as a visitor, even when you slow down. How wonderful that you have been entrusted to film the celebrations in the town. Nice to see that the town is moving forwards and making improvements for its citizens. I love how you are integrating yourselves into the community. Sometimes you hear that this is so hard to achieve. Good to see Aiden feeling well again. ❤ 🙋♀🇦🇺
Thanks JN. He is feeling better now.
Thank you so much for watching ❤️
Thank you, Fiorella. What a lovely video with an uplifting message.
You are so welcome!
Grazie da Texas come sempre ❤
Great video, loved seeing what you get up to in your little village. I think with you having Aden and your adorable pets makes a huge difference and it allows you to enjoy the life in a small village. I love the small villages, especially those in the mountains surrounded by greenery and forests, but after a month I would be needing more stimulation. Termoli and Manfredonia have the perfect mix for me. Live your best and stay well!!
Thank you! 😊
I love this video and all your thoughts and opinions are absolutely true. ❤
Beautifully said and done, Fiorella.
You and Aiden have bolstered the economy of your town and brought new life to the community! Take your bows! 😁👍❤️
I think this is one of the things I like best about your channel. You respect the places and people and cats❤ around you.
It's a pleasure to watch.
Thank you! 😊

Glad you enjoyed it
Hi fiorella. I really love your videos. I am trying to build a channel myself about living in Sicily and the process of waiting until the move. Which for me has not happened yet... You bring me inspiration on many levels.
Best of luck!
Cute video. I lived for a year in Genoa and I feel in love with the city
Absolutely lovely 😍😍 l believe that small town life is the best life. Thank you for sharing your village with us. 🤗❤️🌈🕊️
Che bello! The town is progressing nicely. ❤️🇮🇹

That's great news!!
Very enjoyable. Thank you!
Our pleasure!
Thank you so much you made me love Italy even more .
Loved the small town feeling. We live in Toronto, Canada but hope to move to Europe in a couple of years 🙂
Awesome! All the best with your move ❤️
I been to italy and many long established countries and the differance is, they are not under construction and they are life, not a birth process
Thank you for sharing. It is so frustrating that people insist that no one lives in these smaller Italian villages. This is the heart and soul of Italy!! I enjoyed this video so much!!!
So true!

Love this video
Coming from an overcrowded, overtaxed, always traffic suburb of NY city, it’s beautiful
I absalutly agree with your take on that question. Smell the flowers i say,and dont look for your brand of perfume
👍
You are adorable, and I like your accent! Great video, I salute you from Florence Tuscany!
Your points are most valid. Life perspective and how you share the reality is wonderful. I'm new to this and really enjoying your channel. Fellow Aussie, 21 years in BO/FI/VE... from '00 to '20. Would love also to hear your backstories. Send me the link if you've already published it. Cheers. Jennifer
Ciao Jennifer.
We have another channel which is more established and little by little have shared our story there.

Thank you so much for being here ❤️
any future video regarding your italian language learning process? what about dialect learning? :)
Hi Angel.
Maybe I will mention something in one of the videos, but there's not much to say really as I studied Italian at Uni.
I don't intend to learn the local dialect, at least not in the foreseeable future.
So very very beautiful. A life well lived if you ask me! ❤✨
Hermoso, beautiful!! Simple life..Godere di gli cosi simple…
I love this episode.
I one of the people who was wondering why we don't see people
Now you know 😂😂

Grazie mille Natalina ❤️
I like ☀ flowers and i like italy❤

Beautiful 😍
Cool , nice change....Aloha

Most Americans live in a high speed rat race. They are tourists. Not visitors. We’ve been to Roma 31 times and can relate to your video most clearly.
Looks like heaven to me
❤
Hi fiero ella, how many people live in your comune? Alrox
Hi. About 1,400
Is this an Arbereshe town? What drew you here?
Hi TBT. Yes it is an Arberesh town.
The universe brought us here. We were in a position where we needed to buy a home at short notice and had seen the house we live in back when we were in Australia.
I made a video a while ago on our other channel about it but should do an updated one here ☀️
@@FiorellaInItaly are you loving it? I looked online at the age demographics and it appears there aren’t that many people over 65. We are 70. My great grandfather was Sicilian and Arbereshe from Paina degi Albanese, Sicily.
What do the locals think about Americans buying properties in the small communities?
I think it depends on each community. For what we have seen we can tell that they're happy that their villages are being repopulated and thankful that one chooses theirs out of so many.
We don't see fear of gentrification, as foreigners who buy in small villages are not pushing anybody out of the market. They are creating their own market by purchasing forgotten homes
What ivillage in Molise?
Montecilfone
Ciao molise . Compbasso . Isernia ..
Cats really like you!!!
Where exactly is this, what town?
From the construction sign about halfway through, it looks like Montecilfone.
Hi. All the footage is in and about Montecilfone
