    As I'm drinking coffee watching this, I'm saying out loud, KEEP IT, EAT IT. Glad you kept the crappie. Some day I should come up there and fish.

    Nice smallmouth and crappie. Probably should have kept the walleye. Happy New Year Cody!

      At the very least that walleye will hopefully be involved in the process of creating more!!! Take care my friend!

    If I was wanting fish to eat, turning back a walleye would be difficult! You definitely did catch everything else lol. Hopefully you find the perch soon

    Nice mixed bag.... Where's the perch? 😂 It seems like it always goes that way.... Plan for one thing and get everything but

    What depth do you think that you have to keep fish. I know when I get perch more than 30 they puke up. Are other species the same problem? If we ever get ice here in PA, I will be going to the 30+ basins.

    • @After5Outdoors
      @After5Outdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For crappies on this lake in my opinion and experience, I don't release over 24 feet, but that is just me. I prefer not to fish walleye over 30 feet, perch are pretty much the same as crappies. That's my experience, someone else's might be different. If crappie fishing over 24 I catch my limit and switch species

    • @LivinMNOutdoors
      @LivinMNOutdoors 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In my opinion, you shouldn't catch & release most species if fishing in 27'+ of water. Even if they swim off strong, a huge majority will still die.

    • @billthompson4197
      @billthompson4197 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the input. I even keep the little dink perch and gills in deep water since they will probably die. I'm not sure if bringing them up slowly makes any difference at all.

    • @LivinMNOutdoors
      @LivinMNOutdoors 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@billthompson4197 I do the same... Keep enough to eat and then move shallower or just be done. I think you would have to go SO slow, that it's not really an option.

    • @After5Outdoors
      @After5Outdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've asked the question to a biologist if bringing up slow makes a difference, his opinion was that it doesn't probably make a huge difference
