  • We go to 2 different locations in this 5 night 6 day Adirondack canoe trip. The first 2 nights (part 1), we paddle, portage and camp in extremely wet and cold conditions in search of trout. In part 2 we paddle on 3 lakes and one river for 3 nights looking for pike and find some bass as well.

We will do one as part of a video this spring. We have a holdover video from the fall where I go over fishing lures and our net for pike fishing but after that comes out it will be new content and we’ll cover that. We’re actually had a few requests for it. Thanks for watching.

Porterhouse, 2nd choice ribeye. Quality over quality any time, hopefully you better luck with the pike. I had rain, snow and 80 degrees on my last trip. You guys need to get some fatwood, I buy it by the 10lb box and always have some in my kit. It lights with a match or lighter and burns long and hot.great for wet trips.

Porterhouse is a good choice. We have fatwood for the hot tent stove but Jay put us on to the the things were using now for wet conditions and they actually work much better. As alway thanks for watching Michael.

@@ADKAddicts Cool didn't realize they started making those in large size, I have half a dz. small ones in my survival bag along with my ferro rod and tinder rope. I'll have to check some out. I've been using fatwood for about 53yrs, sometimes us old farts get set in our ways, Lol.

What is the brand rod holder you use on your solo canoes?

They are called Railblaza. We zip tie them to the thwarts. They are small and light weight.

Put me down for team ribeye. Although I'd prefer bone in...
