    I have never seen bolts come off so easy. Every vehicle 95% of the time is fighting seized, rusted/rounded bolts =(

      Exactly, mine had the shaft nuts punched to stop em coming undone, blowtorch and a fat fuckin air inpact helped it let go lol.

    Theres no way that hub and bearing race just tapped out with a hammer and a drift. Looks like some editing went on here where the 20 tonne press got missed out.

    This is a great video. Very clear and very easy to follow. The only thing I did not see, or was edited out was the proper torque of all the bolts and nuts. I am no very sure if that is required. Great video, I like it.

    Remove the 3 bolts attaching the balljoint to the lower control arm. It's easier & there's no risk of damaging the balljoint.

    Good video for showing the basic procedure even with not using a torque wrench, but I would've queried the torque on the axle centre nut? If not correct it could cause premature failure maybe. Was told it is important?. But still a good video thanks for posting.

    Yeah......the race just falls off with a few taps of the hammer lol. I am buying one of those ball joint separator tools and probably getting a wheel bearing kit so I don't have to pull the whole knuckle. Cool video.

    By taking the 'knuckle' completely out you have to realign the front end...there are bearing extractor toolkits which will negate this and save a lot of effort and time.....simply undo the lower ball joint and lever it down to remove halfshaft...

    I see this Hero tightens the drive shaft center nut & wheel lug nuts without a torque wrench.

    Hi clicking on the link for this bearing brings out a whole lot and the dimensions of the brands are not the same and I suppose they supposed to be the same but different makes.

    all you need are the tools to loosen up the bolts and a
    pliers then you need a machete a hammer a round silver padlock without the u , a piece of wood and that's it you can do it a home or in a remote place

    Would you need to get a wheel alignment after doing this is would it be ok ?

      Forgot to mention: When using the slide hammer, use some spare bolts as they get trashed.

    I jack up the front wheels on my corolla 2011 with engine on I put the transmission on drive and when I turn the wheels to the right the front right tire doesn’t spin freely, somebody can tell me what does it mean? Bad wheel bearing?

      Thank you for the feedback! Everything depends on the condition of the hub, the tools used in the repair and the level of skill of the mechanic. For example, to get the bearing out of the hub without a press and press it into a new one is very problematic, if the master is not the Hulk. If there is a press and all the necessary tools, I would allocate about two hours for this work, but there is always the possibility that some kind of bolt or screw are rusted and it takes more time than planned to unscrew it.     Not a chance that the circlip is coming loose like that. Not long ago i took a avensis. Ended up drilling hole in the hub and then hit the circlip with a "dor" (not sure what it is on english.) And the abs sensor unclip it at the contact dont try to take it out of the hub. Normaly this is stuck and you ending up destroying your abs sensor. And the ball joint undo the 3screw than you dont risking to damage the rubber on it.

      You don't need to replace the hub, but since the inner race of the bearing often sticks to the hub and is hard to remove, it's sometimes easier to just buy a new hub. Plus, many mechanics recommend replacing it as well.

      On this application you can not get a hub and bearing assembly. They are 2 separate pieces.

    No30 socket, what's that, 32mm? No17 socket 18mm? Or is it that different over there that a size is now a socket number? I'd be entertained to see what you'd do with American sizes. No14.30 No12.70...

    All these nuts have a torque spec. Why do you not using a torque wrench?

    why did they design it like this.My wife's grand am just had a hub assembly with wheel bearing in it already./It was very easy to change with hand tools.I like Toyota's but this was a dumb design.

      Most cars from the late 90s into the late 2000s had the press in bearing type. I've had many cars of many brands that had the same design. Thankfully, many newer cars have a bolt on bearing assembly that doesn't require a press.
