Athens 25/6/23, the night I will never forget in my life! Madrugada is playing live, this song starts and after some seconds rain starts falling. Very light rain, but enough to give an almost mythical feeling to everything. I immediately stop recording (yeah, I'm guilty of that) and I only feel the rain and the magic of the song cover me and go though me. And then Sivert gets off the stage and into the crowd and starts hugging and shaking hands with everyone, while singing. I was in the third row, so close to him. It's impossible to know what the rest of my summer will be like, but I know that nothing could beat this particular experience. This moment in time will never leave my heart. May every one of you experience things as beautiful as I did that night and even better! Greece will always have this special relationship with Madrugada. We will always love you! 🇬🇷❤🇳🇴
Been listening to Madrugada since I was 20 (which was the year this came out) and this year i am FINALLY seeing them live for the first time! EDIT: It was so amazing!
such an amazing band. in today's music mainstream, they were totally unknown. how many great bands that we miss, thanks to the industry that promotes only certain "artists" while madrugada and others fly under the radar and millions lose, never getting to hear them.
Norwegian here living in the US. It's a well known fact back in Europe that it's very difficult to break into the US market.. Madrugada were huge around Europe and further east, but never made it over here, sadly
@nybakg Yeah, same in UK but I think we miss so much great music. I make a point of listening to bands from all over Europe and Sivert is one of the best vocalists I've heard ❤
My dream is to fly to Europe to catch one of their shows at a festival. I don’t care who else is playing. I tell my friends this is the best band you’ve never heard. ❤❤❤
Madrugada is the best band I share with everyone. My dream is to see them in Norway and I also don't care who else is playing. I'm in North America it will be a big trip and so worth it. I adore this band. xxx
Yes they have, and longer also,in that level that people in Norway most know the name Madrugada but few actually knew theyr music very well and had not rekognize'd the talent Sivert actually had,and it stayd for a long time like that, before it suddenly got to the level they are now, that is what i meen by "not that big yet" or what i vrote.. They were well known ass a band in Norway, who you might see them now and then on TV or etc.. but thats it for a long time and to say it easy,i dont think it would have any reaction here on YT had wrote that back then... on a Norwegian channel, yes, but internasional,no ... So i dont say they were not a thing back then, but they had not get really far either... .COMPARED to what they became .. And when i say it,it is with the starting point that a well rekognoze'd band in Norway has not actually made it really very far yet.. Becase the peak came fast and suddenly and this is pretty much why he moved, things started to happend and he move'd becase of it.. BUT i might be 1 or 2 years of,i movd from there in 2003 and i took it from that year just in secubd without REALLY go 15 years back and analysed to be 100% shore and had it crystal cleer, simply becase i did not think it would matter,it is just very un-importent.. It was that he is a very easy and funny guy i wanted to tell, that is an ok thing to say about him in place like this IF you actually know it !! . But it might been 2001 or 2002 he moved out when i start think of it and i have to "defend the date's" ass i have to i must say its a while ago and that period was not the most quiet period of my life,we were 4 different party's living together in that apartment, and all the other apartments in that building was the same, people moved in and out like A LOT and it was most young guys and party all over in that building,so i cant really remember ecsactly BUT i mov'd from there in late 2003 and all i can garantee is that he movd in and out betwen 2001 and 2003 becase that is the period i liv'd there, moore acurate than that i can not remember m8 ... And to be honest my friend i dont care either... :0) :0)

I was in Norway in May and came across you guys while searching music. Love your vocals. Honey bee my favorite track, so much meaning in that song for me. I enjoy listening to you guys, keep up the good work.
It's kind of interesting that last year I found this song, then I wound up studying in University of Lincoln in the UK and there literally is a High Street by the campus. Cannot complain, considering the circumstances.

I quite agree. I live in the US, and I enjoy their music. Especially when Sivert does colaborates with Anne Brun. Love that too.

In a wake of some change

Like some new mountain range
We leave the lowlands behind
They take your photograph
You come into existence
You realize it's your path
In this very instant

To pass outside these gates
With a will to adjust
Adjust to what it takes
You add another year to this
And it all has gone to waste
Other plans have been made
To pursue your own separate fates
The kids are on High Street
The kids will not sleep tonight
The kids got in a knife fight
We trained them well
They're gonna be alright
I'll be joining with them soon
I can't even wait to get away from you
'Cause it's only in hindsight
That we will know what was right to do
I always thought we had it made
Ambition spurred the plans we laid

Sadly their guitarist, Robert Solli Burås, died for some years ago. Madrugada has never been and will never be the same.

The Kids Are on High Street

Madrugada
Traducción en Spanish
verse
It'll wake up some change
Despertará algún cambio
Stones in the pipeline
Piedras en la tubería
Like some new mountain range
Como una nueva cordillera
Leave the lowlands behind
Deja atrás las tierras bajas
chorus
They take your photograph
Toman tu fotografía
You come into existence
Vienes a la vida
You realize it's your path
Te das cuenta de que es tu camino
In this very instant
En ese mismo momento
verse
Some heroes are we
Algunos somos héroes
To pass outside these gates
Para atravesar estas puertas
We know well to adjust
Sabemos adaptarnos bien
Adjust to what it takes
Adaptarnos a lo que sea necesario
verse
You add another year to this
Agregas otro año a ésto
And it all has gone to waste
Y todo se va a la basura
All the plans have been made
Todos los planes se han hecho
To pursue our own separate fates
Para seguir nuestros destinos por separado
chorus
They take your photograph
Toman tu fotografía
You come into existence
Vienes a la vida
You realise its your path
Te das cuenta de que es tu camino
In this very instant
En ese mismo momento
Oh
Oh
bridge
The kids are on high street
Los niños estan en la calle
The kids will not sleep tonight
Los niños no van a dormir esta noche
The kids got in a knife fight
Los niños se metieron en una pelea de cuchillos
We trained them well, they're gonna be alright
Los entrenamos bien, van a estar bien
I'll be joining with them soon
Me uniré a ellos pronto
I can't even wait to get away from you
No puedo esperar a alejarme de ti
Cause it's only in hindsight
Porque es sólo a posteriori
That we will know what was right to do
Que sabemos lo que es correcto hacer
I always thought we had it made
Siempre pensé que lo habíamos logrado
Ambitious were the plans we laid
Ambiciosos eran nuestros planes
chorus
They take your photograph
Toman tu fotografía
You come into existence
Vienes a la vida
You realise its your path
Te das cuenta de que es tu camino
In this very instant, oh
En ese mismo momento, oh
Wooh!
Wooh!
