  • Based on the Hypermotard, but slightly lower, larger seat, panniers and a touring screen. Despite the touring specs, it's still a bit of a head banger!
The 821cc v-twin makes about 110hp and nearly 90ftib of torque. Kerb weight of around 200kgs. Priced around £10,500

I just tested new 939 with Termignoni.... and that is the most fun motorbike that I have ridden. Fun, fun, ultimate fun. The sound with Termignoni is monstrous .... even better than the best sounding motorbike I own now. :) I have Tuono V4, which is a beast, but I was looking for a mountain roads killer, and I think I found it.

Sore nuts puts me off the thing! I had the problem with a Z750 so I didn't go for that! I genuinely appreciate the gonad aspect of the review!

The seat is easily modified (reshaped) to shift your position and a cheap fix. It should never be a reason to not consider a bike really.

Thanks for the review. I have a Hyperstrada 821. A few comments:
The fueling is terrible from the factory as you noted. Unacceptable really. I flashed mine w a rexxer tune and bypassed the o2 sensors. Runs very well, gained some power w the termi can and sounds the business. The throttle is a little snatchy even with the recall replacement.
Stock fork is among the worst I've ever ridden. It's soft, jittery and can't be adjusted. Also unacceptable. I'll be swapping in adreani cartridges in this winter.
The fuel light comes on at 190-200km and you have 40-50km until empty. This is less than ideal for touring - though on a bike like this I don't imagine you'll tour too far from civilization. I know I don't plan to as there's better bikes for that.

Fueling seems fine to me. Engine braking is strong. Put it in sport mode and never looked back. Programed touring mode to sport level as I think this is the most direct and intuitive throttle response.
There haven't been any recalls on the bike except maybe a regrease of the head bearings. The TCU service bulletin was for TCU failure, not fueling.
The front suspension is middling but adequate. I just put on some mupo cartridges after 6 years - nice. Had mine since 2014 and tour with full camping gear - love this machine.

How is the milage on it ? 4,3 gallons tank is ok by my standards. But how is the milage? my fz 07 has a smaller tank and I can get about 300km range on it if i dont push it at all.

hello there ...can u plz show the speed meter on the screen it will help us to know much more about the bike ..how fast its travelling :) .... by the way which dirt bike do u prefer to buy in Nepal ??

Kevin Joshi Showing the speed can get me arrested. I never really look at the speedo when I'm riding quickly. I don't really care about speed figures. On this road, I wasn't really any quicker on the 899 panigale than I was on the hyperstrada, so again, showing the speedo isn't really going to tell you much about the performance. Just watch the vid rather than the speedo. As far as the best dirt bike for Nepal, I've not ridden the crossfire yet, but as an everyday bike, I would go for a Honda CRF250L. Great road bike, about 145kg, 25hp and fairly comfy with a reasonably low seat height. If I was going to do some enduro type riding, I would have a 20yr old XR250 or 400. 110kgs, 29hp and damn near indestructible!

Kevin Joshi probably the best compromise. 👍

Kevin Joshi The Honda XR range has gone massively down hill in recent years. Personally I'd either look at an old school one (90's era) or a Suzuki DRZ 250 or 400.

benjahnz you can't buy a drz in Nepal. Otherwise that would have been my choice
