I have an aptitude for singing and i love various genres of music. I have only studied Carnatic for 6 months. Even me could me see the resemblance in varaharoopam and navarasam. I believe there is a niche audience for carnatic fusion and thats why many people haven’t heard about navarasam. I completely agree with hareesh in this matter.

എൻ്റെ ഒരു friend recommnd ചെയ്ത് ആണ് പദയാത്ര ആദ്യം കേൾക്കുന്നത്. അന്ന് തൊട്ട് തുടങ്ങിയ യാത്ര ആണ് ഹരീഷൻ്റെ കൂടെ. എന്തോ വല്ലാത്തൊരു connectn feel cheyyanu ഇങ്ങള് പാടുമ്പോൾ. ഷൊർണൂർ ഉം ഒറ്റപ്പാലം ഉം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത എനിക്ക് പാട്ടിലൂടെ കാണിച്ചു തന്നു. പാട്ടുകൾ മാത്രം അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്ന ഞാൻ ജോൺസൺ മശിനെയും ഗിരീഷ് പുത്തഞ്ചേരിയെയും കൂടുതൽ കേൾക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങിയത് ഹരീഷ് ഏട്ടൻ കാരണം ആണ്.

Im into movies and visual representation rather than music and songs... I've literally never had not even a single song in my phone or pc when everyone use to have thousands of mp3s.. But I was hooked to this guy singing "dooreyaaro paadukayanoru.." malargale & thankathinkal by Agam at Mementos..... I happened to listen to this on a road trip with friends and since then I was hooked and have listened thankathinkal by him on loop for countless hours.. If he got a no music guy like me hooked on loop, I can only imagine about what he would have done to big music lovers... ഒരു hit ആയ പഴയ പാട്ട് ചിലപ്പോ അതിന്റെ റെക്കോർഡിങ് സമയത്ത് ഒരു മിസ്റ്റേക്ക് ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ പോലും ആ മിസ്റ്റേക്ക് സഹിതമാണ് ഒരു സാധാരണ പ്രേക്ഷകൻ നെഞ്ചിലേറ്റുന്നത്.. അവന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിലെ ഒരു കാലഘട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഓർമ പോലും ആ പാട്ടിലും അത് പാടിയ പാട്ടുകാരന്റെ ശബ്ദത്തിലുമൊക്കെ അലിഞ്ഞു ചേർന്നതായിരിക്കും..അതിൽ ചെറിയൊരു മാറ്റം വന്നാൽ പോലും വല്ലാത്ത ഒരു irritation ആണ്..അത് പാടി പാടി മധുരമാക്കി മധുരമാക്കി കൊളമാക്കേണ്ട ആവശ്യമില്ല..ആ പാട്ടിന്റെ ആത്മാവ് ആ ഒറിജിനൽ വേർഷൻ തന്നെയാണ്..പിന്നെ ഓരോരുത്തർക്കും ആവുന്നത് പോലെ പാടി നോക്കാം.. അതിപ്പോ ഇവനും പാടാം.. അത്യാവശ്യം പാടാൻ അറിയുന്ന ആർക്കും പാടാം.. ഒറിജിനൽ വേർഷൻ ജീവിതത്തിൽ കേൾക്കാതെ ഇവന്മാരുടെ ഈ കോപ്രായം ആദ്യം കേട്ടു ആ പാട്ടിന്റെ യഥാർത്ഥ soul തിരിച്ചറിയാതെ പോകുന്നവരെ ഓർക്കുമ്പോൾ മാത്രം സങ്കടമുള്ളൂ..
ഞാൻ ഒരിജിനലും covers ഉം കേട്ടിട്ടുള്ളയാളാണ്.
ചിലപ്പോൾ ഒറിജിനൽ അല്ലാത്ത ഒരു വെർഷൻ കേട്ടിട്ട് ഇഷ്ടക്കേട് തോന്നിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. താങ്കൾ അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടതുപോലെ 'irritation ' തോന്നിയിട്ടില്ല. ഈ പറഞ്ഞ irritation തോന്ൽ ഒരു തരം അസഹിഷ്ണുതയല്ലേ.
ഒരേ പാട്ടിന്റെ പല വേർഷൻസും പലപല വൈകാരികാനുഭവങ്ങൾ ആണ് എനിക്ക് സമ്മാനിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്..
ചില പാട്ടുകൾ ഹരീഷ് പാടുന്നത് ഒറിജിനലിനേക്കാൾ മികച്ചത് ആയിട്ടാണ്
പാട്ട് പാടി മധുര തരമാക്കാൻ ഹരിഷ്‌നെ പോലെ ആരും ഇല്ല.. വിസ്മൃതിയിൽ ആയി പോയ, പലരും കേൾക്കാത്ത പല പാട്ടുകൾക്കും പുതുജീവൻ കൊടുത്തത് ഈദേഹം ആണ്...ആളുകൾക്ക് എന്താ ഇത്ര അസൂയ 😂😂

Copy ചെയ്തിട്ട് ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് തെറ്റാണ്. But ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലെങ്കിൽ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്ന് പറയുന്നതിൽ യാതൊരു തെറ്റും ഇല്ല. But കാന്തരയുടെ Music Director വേണം ഇതിന് സത്യസന്ധമായ ഒരു answer നൽകേണ്ടത്. മറ്റുള്ളവർ വെറുതെ പറയുന്നതിൽ ഒരു കാര്യവുമില്ല. Notation base ചെയ്തിട്ടോ Raga base ചെയ്തിട്ടോ ഇതൊരു copy എന്ന് പറയാൻ പറ്റില്ലെങ്കിലും. ഇതിന്റെ programming ഉം Arrangements ഉം base ചെയ്തിട്ട് ഇത് copy ആണെന്ന് പറയാം. പക്ഷെ, ആ ചെയ്തയാൾ ഇതിന് മുൻപ് നവരസം എന്ന ആ song കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല എങ്കിൽ Copy ചെയ്തത് ആണെന്ന് പറയാൻ പറ്റില്ല. copy പോലെ ആയെന്ന് പറയാനേ സാധിക്കൂ. സത്യം എന്താണ് എന്നുള്ളത് തെളിയട്ടെ. Copy ചെയ്തത് ആണെങ്കിൽ അതിന്റെ credits original ചെയ്തവർക്ക് തന്നെ കൊടുക്കണം. അല്ലാത്ത പക്ഷം നഷ്ടപരിഹാരം നൽകേണ്ട രീതിയിലേക്ക് കാര്യങ്ങൾ എത്താനും നിയമം അനുസരിച്ച് സാധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. അങ്ങനെ ഒരു നിയമ പോരാട്ടം നടത്താതെ തന്നെ നീതി ഉണ്ടാവട്ടെ.
ഇവിടെ തൈക്കുടം band ചെയ്യേണ്ടിയിരുന്നത് ആ song നു credit ചോദിക്കുക എന്നതല്ല. മറിച്ചു backing track same ആണെന്ന് മാത്രമേ പറയാൻ പറ്റൂ. Case ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ mention ചെയ്യണം. അല്ലാതെ song എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് തെറ്റാണ്. Backing track change ചെയ്യാനോ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ credit വെക്കാനോ ആവശ്യപ്പെടാം.

കുറെ വർഷങ്ങൾ മുൻപ് ഇളയരാജ പറഞ്ഞത് ഓർക്കുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഗാനങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പക്കൽ നിന്നും കോപ്പിറൈറ്സ് വാങ്ങിക്കാതെ ആരും പാടാൻ പാടില്ല എന്ന് ആയിരുന്നു അത്. Even ഗാനമേളകളിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പാടുകൾ പാടുന്നതിന് പോലും അദ്ദേഹം എതിർപ്പ് പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു. വളരെ ആരോചകം ആയിട്ടായിരുന്നു ഇളയരാജയുടെ നിലപാടിനെ കുറിച് തോന്നിയത്. അത് കഴിഞ്ഞ കുറെ വർഷങ്ങൾ കഴിഞ്ഞ ഒരുപാട് കവർ ഗായകർ എവിടെയും പൊട്ടി മുളച്ചു. Personally ഇത്തരം പ്രകടനങ്ങളോട് അകൽച്ച ആദ്യം മുതൽക് തന്നെ തോന്നിയത് കൊണ്ട് ഇതിന്റ ആരാധകൻ ആയില്ല. കാരണം എന്താണെന്ന് വെച്ചാൽ, എന്തിനെയും ആസ്വാദ്യകരം ആക്കുന്നത് അതിലെ മിതത്വം ആണ്. ഇവർ പാടുന്ന ഈ ഒറിജിനൽ വേർഷനുകളിലെ മിതത്വം ആണ് അതിനെ ഇത്രമേൽ പ്രിയങ്കരം ആക്കുന്നത്. ഹരിഷിനെ പോലുള്ള കലാകാരന്മാർ ചെയുന്നത് ഈ പാട്ടിനെ ആദ്യം പൊറോട്ട പോലെ വലിച്ചു നീട്ടും, എന്നിട് ഫീൽ ക്രീയേറ്റ് ചെയ്യാൻ പഞ്ചസാരയിൽ മുക്കി അങ്ങോട്ട് പ്രെസെന്റ് ചെയ്യും. ഇതിന്റെ വിരോധാഭാസം എന്താണെന്ന് വെച്ചാൽ ഇങ്ങനെ ഒകെ ചെയ്യുന്നവർ ആണ് പാട്ടിന്റെ പിതൃത്വത്തിനെ പറ്റി ഘോര ഘോരം പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നത്.
