What's so beautiful about this is that the forgotten women become seen again by themselves. So many of us gave everything to our families, other people and everyone but self...society discards the older generation. We've always known we had value we just had to re-remember.
The ascending of the stairs, beautiful. I did it with you. Brought tears to my eyes. I was celebrating your victory. You were not alone. I was with you! Thank you for reminding me of gratitude . To appreciate what we can do now . Today. In this moment.
I just love your channel. Positive, encouraging, beautiful videography, music, commentary. I love your personality and the sound of your voic, so relaxing. . You could be on radio. Thank you for your channel.

I remember watching your very first video. I was captivated. I’m not at all surprised at how great you are doing with subscribers. Having met you in person, I have found you to be every bit as genuine as you are on your videos. Very caring, loving person. I so admire you for following your dream like you have. I always look forward to your new videos and seeing you at your Butterfly Tribe meetups! 😘

Wow, I guess I was one of your early subscribers. Your videos have gotten better and your content has always been engaging. I have obligations that keep me stationary most of the year, so You Tube allows me to travel vicariously when I can not. I hope our paths cross at some point out on the road. I have been thinking about uploading some videos, just to document the travels I get to do, but I just don't know if I want to deal with Trolls and negative comments... I follow quite a few really small channels and some that have grown, like your, from under 1000 subscribers to 10s of thousands and 3 that are over 1 million now. It has been my observation that at 20K, womens channels seem to attract Trolls. Thank you, Jan, for taking the time to create this video, it is food for though. Blessings.
Hi Jan! What a lovely, personable, useful video this has been. I'm 57. I work for my county and the commissioners consistently fail to see the value of what we do. I cannot abide the thought of continuing in this job until I'm 67! TEN MORE YEARS - OF THIS??!! I think not. This spring I'm taking a trip from New England to AZ to see my aging father. Travelling with my 20 yo son, my youngest. That will be my fledgling flight. I am SOOOO looking forward to it! I'm subscribing to your channel today ! Thank you !

I came across your site because of your name, Butterfly Tracks! I go by Monarch Haven in my online games but never started a channel ,as I have been on and off in my van travels. When I lived in Florida, I helped a friend raise and release Monarch butterflies due to their dwindling population. I went to an earlier RTR when it was in just one location and was intrigued how friendly everyone was. My original van started having engine problems and now I have a minivan, but have only traveled visiting family and friends and camp along the way. I'd like to travel with a group and start van dwelling again but my only income is SS. Would like to start my on channel but don't know how to start. Glad to come aoss this video which I hope will give me some ideas on how to start!

Good on you! Showing your surroundings, the way you see it, can be rewarding and enjoyable. Your choices in music and matching to your videos plays an important part on how others see and "feel" the story you are trying to convey!! Fine job!!!!
I so happy for you and all the other women out there who are challenging themselves to new heights. Life changes every day and it's how we react and adapt to those changes that makes us strong. I've always loved road trips and have been many places in this country during my life. I took my first solo adventure this past spring and the confidence boost was incredible. I can't wait to get back out, as soon as my life goes through a few more changes to make it possible! Thank you, Jan! Happy travels!
Love your site.❤ I still have a dream of traveling. I'm 71 and have been saving for 3 years to be able to purchase a vehicle. The car I have now is on its last leg. I stayed in for 3 days but was not comfortable at all. So a friend said I can stay in a room in her and husband's home. I really appreciate it. But one day I'm so hopeful to meet you and start my journey 🙏. Thank you for sharing your life ❤️

Fantastic work! You inspire us all to get out and goooooooooooooooooooo! I do not want to sit at home and watch TV all day. I bought my minivan last year and will have it worked on early 2025 and hope to hit the road next spring. Several states that I plan on visiting and passing through some of my favorite places again because I loved them in my younger years. Happy trails!
Dottie, just do it. You don't have to be full time or even have to have a "build". Start local even if it is just to see something in a neighboring town. Memory lane trips can be a two edged sword. We have changed and can never go back, but then if memory lane is stale one day the next may be pure joy. Just make contingency plan for those bad days. Best wishes on your future travels.

Wonderful and inspiring video, Jan! I've been watching for a while and just subscribed. I relate so much to the physical challenges we face as we get older. When you talked about climbing up the tower I thought, "that's me, too!" But to my delight, I recognized it right away because, when I was younger and fitter, I lived in Camden, ME and climbed up those steps to see the broad view of Camden Harbor and the Penobscot Bay many times. (Mt. Battie at Camden Hills State Park off Rt. 1 just north of the town of Camden, ME.) So proud of you that you took it one step at a time, again and again, and got up there! Thank you for all you are doing to open up this life to share with others and how you are doing it, with personal passion, curiosity, and creativity. I am going to try some short local trips to see how things go, who knows, I might meet you one day! Until then, be well and best wishes!

That last rapid was most beautiful and refreshing to watch. Personally, I like the quiet in TH-cam videos. Just the way it's being experienced by the person filming it. Out in nature with just the sound of walking a trail. Or gathering wood for the morning or night's fire. Getting a meal together. Some narration is nice, but the peaceful pace and solitude is the main thing for me. I don't get the connection when music is edited in because it's not being played on the radio anywhere the person is filming the video. Music is piped everywhere in stores to keep shoppers shopping longer. Is the strategy the same for viewers attention throughout a video for the monetization also? Jan, I think you're a sweet lady, and I enjoy all your videos. You are a pure pioneer for all who have gone on to make a channel for themselves. But with all the orchestra trees and banjo boulders now playing as major content in most other videos lately, I mainly mute to give my own self some peace and quiet while I watch. Though usually after the first note🎵 I'm out👉.
That is great that you were monetized so quickly. I started my channel 5 yrs ago when I was 68, now I am 73 and I am not monetized yet. I have over 500 videos. I want to continue for one more year because I have trips planned for 2025. I will continue my channel as long as I have fun doing it.

Hi there: my husband recently passed away and he loved to RV and so did I. I have put a deposit on a class B RV and about to start my journey. How do I start a TH-cam channel and what equipment/camera do I need to purchase.? I haven’t picked up the RV yet and I think I should document picking up the RV and what do you do from there? Can you tell me how to get started?

Your videos make me HAPPY 😀
I'm so glad! 😊
You are so inspiring!
Thanks! 🤗

What a beautiful view ❤ do you have a bad hip or knee that is causing you problems/pain? ❤❤
Two bad hips from falls. Some days are better than others. 😊 I need to keep on moving! 💙🦋💙
Jan, thank you for posting this, would you tell us more detail about monetization? How do we get monetized etc-will be following ever single post (as always)
I'm so sorry for your loss. If you have a good camera on your phone, that's all you need. Yes, film your experience! I'm going to do a educational meetup in Florida about starting a TH-cam channel. It will be on our Facebook page.

Living our best lives ! 🚐💃🏻🐕🦋❤️
Very inspirational. I find myself in situation of caring for my disabled partner. Hoping we can make this happen. But unclear if he even wants this lifestyle. But I do.
