2.3L super charger, lighter weight and driver mod. C6 ZR1 punches above its weight even a decade later. I feel it will eventually appreciate in value because of its performance the clean look on the c6

Boy thought putting it in 3rd would be a smart idea. There is more then 1 gear for a Reason.
Would've be a lot closer with different shift points. But I believe the c6 zr1 still would've won either way
I have seen those results time again. That c6 zr1 is one hot car and I like the looks better also
If you stayed in second you would have been really close. That short shift to 3rd kills you. Same with shirt shift to second. I know it spins but back off the throttle 5 or 10 percent and hold the gear longer. While till redline every gear. Maybe first at 5800 and second 6200 and you'll be a lot faster

I find it hard to believe the zr1 had all those mods and the race was that close. Zr1 beats the z06 without any of those already. So I'm confused.
Maybe wrong but looks like he went into third gear way to early because he was spinning in second and just short shifted into third and that bog the engine down to much
The only reason I can think why you shifted like that is for traction reasons?

Is this high elevation or something? I have similar mods to this ZR1 and I've been 11mph faster in the 1/2
We've seen difference in each run, maybe the equipement is not consistent.. this zr1 did a 161mph run the same day.
The zr1weighs less, it's that simple.
And he beat him with 2 people in the car lol
The c7 could of used 2 more people to get those tires to hook

Wasn't a bad run. The C7Z driver was not bad it's just no traction and early shifting to ease the spinning coming out the hole. His shifting points were actually spot on.
Mario Avila It was a bad run IMO. To your point though...the 2nd gear early shift wasn’t a bad idea though. However, the 2nd to 3rd gear short shift was all bad. It all depends on the range of someone’s skill. Clutch, throttle, shifting speed, shift timing, understanding the physics of what’s going on...all play factors. The gentleman chose to short shift out of a gear (2nd) that is very tall. He should have had the know how to modulate his throttle better instead of “flat out...or spin & shift” It pretty clear bc that’s when he lost several car lengths. Only to later stop the bleeding which is a good indication that the car was plenty fast enough to win or at least keep up. That being said, we don’t how long he’s had the modifications and how much seat time he’s had either. Either way, I’ve never short shift that early that many times, nor would I ever. So I dunno, I think he made a bad decision.
He just needed to hold on to 2nd gear a little longer and modulate throttle easier said than done in the heat of the moment but you learn from experience

Love the armchair racecar drivers in the comments LMAO! The Z06 makes peak torque at 3600 RPM. From what I can see, that "bogged" shift was right around 3K, where torque is higher than when at 5K.
You are the epitome of a armchair racer , max torque starts at 3600 and stays till 5250ish.
Shifting at 3500k, is gonna drop you out of of your power band , just like this driver did. Shifting higher and landing the next gear around 3500-4K is what you want, not shifting at 3500.
That is some next level stupidity right there.
