Havent watched this film since I was a little kid. I am 21 years old now, and everytime I hear this song it automatically takes me back to that moment where I would sit down, snow falling outside, and watch this movie and not move until it was finished. I miss those days. :(

Like most others here, I watched this as a kid but I only saw it the once and had almost forgotten the song (if I recall correctly, it's the only music in the whole movie). I always remembered loving it but couldn't quite recall the music (one of those "it's on the tip of my tongue!" moments.. for 30-odd years.) Then I heard Nightwish's version and instantly remembered it and where it came from. Your version is awesome! :)
This song is not only ælfscíene but possibly a gift from Freyja herself delivered to us by and through Nightwish. I heard this song when I was a young child and I felt a great power calling to me. I remember rewinding the old video cassette and replaying it ...hundreds...of times.
loved this version! very fun, and made it seem like an action film sort of :) always the sad ending, but it shows that nothing lasts forever except the memories that life on :) now though, instead of crying at the end like i used to, i get teary eyed at the last goodbye because the snowman knows hes going to "die" haha I'm sensitive!
