When I listen to it, I become a little better as a person every time. A masterpiece of lyrics writing, composing and performing, along with eternal Scandinavian Magic.
The fact that Tuomas came up with the idea of this unique type of sound for this band with Tarja's perfect voice is genius, and the rest of the musicians in this group are fantastic.

It's a bit faster and it's got an amazing energy.
Honestly, I've only very rarely heard a vocalist--male or female--with a voice as strong as Tarja's, without sounding frenzied or strained. She brought a kind of unique poise to their sound that really fleshed it out. I'm not sure how you compensate for the loss of something like that.

I want this to last forever... When I was a child, I watched this movie in silent, wondrous awe. As an adult, I listen to this version and there is almost nothing in this world that I have experienced that compares in such vast beauty and soul-wrenching longing, an impossible dream of floating beyond the clouds, soaring above all things and being cold, yet warm, flooded with such intensity and cloud-lit magic that defies the very existence of all things earthly and mundane. Thank you, Nightwish.
One of my all-time favorite bands. Tarja's voice is ethereal. She is a soprano with a three-and-a-half octave range. Nightwish's music has been consistently epic, inspiring, and, at least to me, soul-touching. I loop this video and will listen to it 10-15 times almost every day. Peace, Blessings, and Grace.

They do this extremely well and beautifully in the live concert: "From Wishes to Eternity" 2000 live Tampere.
I love that version more than the studio version, despite some shortcomings. She seems really into it in that version and it comes through in her singing.

Anette sings in one of my favorite Nighwish songs. They are different singer, that's it. They are both great. To many people doesn't like change and for that reason, they can't enjoy the final product.

Truth be told. . I love both albums with Anette. Especially Imaginaerum.. it's pure magic. Floor is exceptionally great live as she can do justice to both eras, but Endless Forms could have been a lot better as a whole, apart from 3-4 excellent songs.

Yes. Tarja stopped being a part of Nightwish in 2005 or so. Then they had Anette on Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum, now they have Floor.

And Sleeping Sun. I first heard that masterpiece when I was watching a short video about abandoned military Romanian aircraft. The song fit so perfectly. And then I discovered the Magic of Nightwish and Tarja. Had to find out who was it that was mesmerizing me. What a joyous surprise. I now have their whole catalog, including all three singers. Tarja is still my favorite, but Anette and Floor are also great.
