The first story totally hits home because my older brother has always treated me like shit. Ever since I was born. Thankfully my mom is supportive and is always there. Even today as adults, he still hasn't changed. So I completely understand the guy's decision for not wanting to give his brother a kidney. How can you treat your own flesh and blood like that and then come years later, you're at your lowest point, and now you want their help? That's why you should ALWAYS treat your family right because you never know when you may need them the most and then they'll think of all the bad things that you did and they're probably gonna say no because of the bad memories you gave them to remember.
To those who are dealing with this or had dealt with it, it does get better, take all that negativity and throw it away, keep your heads up and God bless you all.

Honestly even if Sabastien hadn't been an evil twin, he still has the right to say 'No I don't want to give you my Kidney' without people giving him grief for his decision. The fact that he was horrible to him and was able to use their parents to make situations worse for him just made the decision easier for him. OP shouldn't feel bad now that family members are calling up with nasty messages because even if he had decided to give his Kidney to his brother their opinion of him wouldn't have change unfortunately.

  • @sassbrat
    @sassbrat ปีที่แล้ว +49

I with the guy on the 1st story. The twin was only nice since he needed the kidney that he had screwed up by doing drugs and drinking all of the time but if it was the other way around there was no way the bad twin would ever even think about giving up his kidney. Also should note that bad twin wasn't comfortable with his twin sharing a room with him so why should be okay with the kidney of that twin being apart of his body only to go out and ruin that kidney. The good twin pointed out that his parents all but disowned him when he came out as bisexual and never defended him from the bad twin. The good twin showed his parents and brother just what happens when you treat someone like crap their entire life. As for the family members saying the OP is wrong for not giving his kidney where were they when Op needed help and also why don't they give up one of their kidneys to the bad twin. OP did the right thing and will make a great parent. One thing i would do if go no contact other than the sister with the entire family.

The first story really resembles the one of my partner.
For 24 years he was neglected, looked down upon, treated like shit and always inferior to his brother who is a huge A*hole, wasting their money while going on huge vacations and committing tax fraud in my partner’s name (using his signature).
To remind you, he is freaking 35.
He probably also got a girl pregnant but then cut ties with her telling her he doesn’t wanna take responsibility and his parents cover up for him.
Whatever bs he does, it’s always ,, just let him do it“
    ,, it’s not like it’s killing you“
,,he is my son and you cannot tell him to do/not to anything“
    And so on.
In the end my partner had enough of it and (as he is a boxer) attacked him physically but not leaving any much dmg because he knows he got ties to good lawyers.
He was then kicked out of the house during a cold winter night, leaving him with nothing.
They even told everyone that if someone takes him in, they will never forgive them.
And that she should just rot in the streets…
He is still emotionally recovering from that while working 7 days a week for him to finally move into his first own apartment (next week).
Im just so proud of him for being so strong and fighting for himself.
He is still sad that he lost his parents because every child deserves parents but unfortunately not every parents deserve children.
He said that he will never get in contact with them ever again but to see them live in peace and be so content without him makes him questions his entire existence.
He told me how mad he is at his parents for even bringing hin into this world.
,,why bother if u will hate me and dispose of me anyway?!“
But man, life is very cruel.
But it doesn’t have to be that way forever♥️
We are now planning on getting engaged soon and I am doing my best in supporting him both financially and emotionally.
But damn, hearing him talk about his emotions and seeing him depressed now and then just hits hard and I always just wanna cry.
How can life be so damn difficult for those with the most precious hearts? I swear people who still smile after going through stuff like that are heroes and deserve the world!♥️

Those aren't really family if they treat you like trash. The 'brother' in the first story truly got what he deserved and the fact that the 'parents' are still trying to guilt trip OP for not wanting to give his bully something because of the stuff they put him through makes me speechless. Do they not know how their golden child has been treating OP at all after all those years? For the second story who tf blames the one outing the cheater instead of the cheater? That's just wierd logic right there. If anything they should be grateful that OP outed that disgusting pos and go nc with the one who cheated. These 'families' are messed up beyond repair and they're clearly bad people who care more about their pride than other people.

In the twin story. Its not even about him sparing an extra organ he doesn't need to save a dying human. Regardless of the bullying. Giving up an organ like that comes with real risks and real potential to degrade your quality of life in future. And its a decision you shouldn't be guilt tripped into making even if the dying patient is a good person. But the dying one in this instance was just a wicked asshole, so even more reason not to force someone into saying yes.

Leave, get as far away as possible, cut all contact (bar the few nice exceptions both mentioned) and build yourself a family who actually care about you. Then show them you don't care about them anymore by refusing to turn up to family events etc and then if its the wedding or something of one of the few you actually get on with, turn up with the entire family, anyone you count as family and show them off!

Tbh, I have an older sister and she is honestly a bad sister, not to the extent of sebastian in this story but she just never accepts her mistake, despite her being the eldest in the house, I do most of the chores. My mom noticed this and is supportive of me, since she goes through the same thing. We live in a joint family and my mom's sister in law(who's older than her) does not do anything either, my mother is the one working her ass off for everyone in the household, especially my grandparents, but my grandma always favored my aunt. There was a huge fight about this in our house and my grandma secretly probably despises my mother. Now, I am the one who does most of the work for my grandparents, despite there being 4 kids in the house( one my sister and other two my cousins, two of them are older than me) I do most of their work, whenever they want something to get done, they just call my name. Only my name. My sister is a bitch. Like she is not a bad person but she is a bad sister. She talks for long hours on phone at night, disturbing my sleep, does not do shit around the house and then blames mom for favouritism, despite the fact that I do most chores. And she always makes it a point to call herself the older sister in an argument and that I should respect her. Like bitch. Were you an older sister when I was doing chores while my exams were going on? Were you an older sister when i constantly told you to cut the call so that i can sleep? I barely get any sleep and i have to wake up early. She cares about her friends and boyfriend more than she cares about me and our family. I hate to say this but I sometimes just wish to go to a hostel when I go to a college. I'm in 12th and my sister is in the 3rd year of college and I am just wishing for a break from this. But then I just feel bad because I don't know who would help my mother and my grandparents with their work if I'm gone. I just hate feeling this way. I am sixteen, I don't need to care or even think about all this. I am THE kid. Why do I have to grow up so early? I am the victim. Why should I feel bad about this?

I largely argree with Ellen here in the first story. When someone apologizes, consider whether they've reached out to apologize BEFORE they needed something. If they only apologize to you when they need something, they 100% do not mean it, especially if they do it in the "okay I'm sorry bla bla bla now can we get to the main point?" or "Could we just talk for once?" manner (The biggest reason I refused to hear out my high school bully and block him every time he tries to text with his new account. Sometimes I feel bad but considering his attitude, I think I've made the right choice)
They also get furious at OP for refusing, and that's also another big sign. Actually accepting accountability means also accepting the possiblity that they may not want to forgive you. The fact that they immediately jumped to scream at OP, guilt trip him then act like the victims with other family members showed what OP was thinking about, they only wanted to lure him in to get the kidney. I also fully agree Sebastian would go back to being evil to OP after getting the kidney, cuz in that case, he never was sorry and got what he wanted. OP is not wrong for refusing at all and I hope they're doing well. You don't owe your abusers anything

If you demonstrate such favoritism for one kid above the other, it is likely that the spoiled one will turn out to be an a*hole. I agree with his decision. It may have been harsh but... Critical.
To clarify why... It sounds like classic narcissist family structure. If 1 or both parents are narcissists, 1 child is always the golden child. The other child is always the scapegoat child. The golden child is basically groomed into being a narcissist. They are the focus of 100% of their "love and affection." The scapegoat child owns all the unpleasant responsibilities, and if anything at all goes wrong, it is the scapegoat's fault automatically and their responsibility to fix it or pay for it- even though the scapegoat logically knows that isn't true. The only escape is going completely no contact. The first story, the golden child never changed and was never actually going to. At that point, who wants to save someone who is going to constantly abuse them, proceed to ruin the kidney that gave the abuser a new lease on life, and who would not lift a finger- let alone donate a kidney- to save their life if roles were reversed? Narcissistic types who are so far gone they can't be made better even by being near death... I'm sorry to say have made their bed in the coffin that has their name on it.

OP should tell the other relatives why he made the choice he did and all the horrible things his parents and evil twin did to him. I'm surprised he went to the hospital.
Second story: OP had the peaceful life when being block by horrible family. OP is living the best good life.
    These are horrible people.

actually, they'd have to test if OP's kidney would be suitable. Not everyone in a family would have a compatible kidney; but conceivably, siblings and parents and other relatives could have been tested for donation to Sebastian. OP may have been the only suitable donor, but it seems no one really knows. "No" was the best response.

Ellen's right, we haven't been in OP's shoes personally so we can't judge but if I was in his situation I don't blame him for feeling that way and not wanting to give away his kidney. His brother is a monster who betrayed him badly by hooking up with OP's girlfriend and outed him to his parents for dating a guy. He was left homeless and now his family wants him only when he needs him?? The parents played a dominant role in this, they should've treated both of their kids equally then Sebastian wouldn't have grown up to be such an entitled shit.

Okay, so, for the first story if my parents and sibling treated me that way (they don't I love them and I'm treated great) I would cut ties with them, but if my brother needed a kidney, even though they had treated me horribly and probably wouldn't be grateful for what I did, I would still, most likely give him my kidney, because even if they had treated me bad they'd still be family and I'd deep down still love them, and just leaving them to die would make me feel guilty, even if they are bad people, but as soon as I give up my kidney and blah blah blah I'd go back to not speaking to them, that's just how I am

But you can't possibly know what choice you would make until you are in that situation. Obviously he no longer viewed his twin as his brother/family, and that's completely understandable for him to feel that way. I know it sounds harsh but no one was entitled to his kidney. For the first story, as you said he didn't deserve the kidney. He was finally "nice" but only because he wanted something from OP. He immediately switched back to the way he was when the OP refused because he didn't change as a person. Sometimes people need to cut toxic people from their lives, even if they are family members. It's tougher but even people related by blood can be horrible and don't deserve your kindness.
For the second story, I would have just outed him to his significant other 1st and not during the holidays in front of everyone. Give her time to process it first also, he waited so the dude was continuing to cheat on her the entire time he waited to expose him. That's terrible for her, I would want to know right away. If he really wanted to change how the family viewed him, he could have sent the photos to everyone separately. When he was in the comfort of his own home and out of punching range lol Dude was masochistic XD

Honestly, I don't know if anyone will agree with me. But like... if we could survive easily with one kidney we wouldn't have 2. The first story made me think about what im called to do as a christian. We're called to lay down our life for others and to love pur enemies. I thought of Jesus who, in the face of the greatest scorn or betrayl anyone could have gone through - He is giving His life to the very people who spit at Him and naul Him to a cross, and His friends stabbed Him in the back and abandoned Him - but Jesus died anyway and gave His life for them.
And those are standards we cant live up to (pun not intended). If my greatest enemy lay dying, unrepentent asking for me to put my life on the line for them, i could never say that i would. But its what im meant to do.
Im not upset at the guy for not giving his kidney for his horrible brother, not when i cant confidently say i wouldnt do the same. But its scart to think of a life being in your hands and doing nothing. And its hard to be like someone who was literally God.

If Sebastian stood by his brothers side, his twin would have cared about his health. If Sebastian supported his brother, he would have gotten the help he needed. But he decided to be an asshole even after the child-i dont like my brother-phase was over and he got the bill for it. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes-in this case: death
