    Too loving, and melancholic, in a place so full of violence and filth according to Travis, ironic, "a walking contradiction", and I love him, is how much in the film, which shows us that we can be very gray, but we always have to change our bad habits so as not to fall into the worst, Travis came to have good intentions, but several times they were overshadowed by selfishness and bad thoughts, taking action in very reprehensible ways (according to even him), in problems that could be solved in another way...
    Quite a sad and relatable story of the God's Lonely Man, But the biggest favor we can do ourselves is not to be like him and help those who are reaching their point, great movie and also a great background
    10/10 👍
    In the meantime, give it a go my people, and do your best 🫂🫂🫂.

      And this comment that I already liked to repeat but it is because I think it is something that we should all remember at some point:
      A good life is not governed only by the experiences acquired, much less for various vanities, If not, it also does it due to the accumulation of good acts and habits acquired over time, so do the best possible for yourselves, brothers Remember that there will always be people like me willing to help you, as long as they do their part.
      Start by doing your part, but if your problems go further, always consider professional help, even if you don't consider yourself sick, or not totally...
      Meanwhile, take care and make you win people 🫂🫂🫂.

      @@tristenjames2065I've been waiting all night to reply to this comment (it's 3:15 AM)
      All because I can't contain my words and because sometimes I can't sleep, just like Travis
      I don't like that, but I admit that there are things in which I identify with him, and being so, I can tell you that practically the best thing someone can do if they feel like him, is to change and be better.
      Travis is a complicated character and even so it applies to many people, because he is very real, do you want to date someone like Travis? Well, look for someone insecure, volatile and asocial
      Travis has many more nuances that make him neither good nor bad, but it's bad for that person to be like him, so I ask you and other people not to romanticize characters like this
      Because they are a warning to society and its individuals of what they can become, which is wrong.
      I had read comments of people identifying themselves, people criticizing those other people, but very few romanticizing it.
      So...
      for you brother, Who is reading this comment and identifies with Travis, you entered the first warning, do what you can on your part and try to change for the better, I am trying, And it's the best thing I've been able to do, since I'm doing myself a favor by stopping being an addict to p0r-n, being asocial, being addicted to violence, being a victim of my own thoughts, being fairly volatile and a prisoner of my feelings, And being a purist, wanting to be in good shape and whatnot when I consume all the bad things to not meet my goals, basically a "walking contradiction", do yourself a favor brothers, be different and try to change for your own good and also for those who may surround you, but do it mainly for you.

    Travis was the hero. It was the world that made him the way he was, of course he was going to fight back against evil in the only way he knows how. Idk why people paint him as some sort of villain, the only thing he did that was pretty bad was that he failed to kill a politician. But of course he stopped believing in their bullshit after Vietnam and the lack of respect or care he got after he got back from the war. Overall he wasn’t a bad guy at all, most real life heroes who actually stop the bad guys are like Travis Bickle.

    • @tono6136
      @tono6136 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Travis is not quite a hero, I respect what you think since I came to think the same, but under the same criteria of Paul Schrader (writer of the film) Travis is just a walking contradiction, He criticizes drug addicts and talks about puritism, but he is addicted to porn and self-analysis, he criticizes dirty streets and he soils a place with blood, He tries to save Iris but traumatizes her in the process, and he tried to kill the politician just because he wanted to mark Betsy and everyone present, Travis behind everything had good intentions, yes, but he never looked for a true way to solve everything, he is a victim of his ignorance and loneliness, since he does not know another way to live life, Of his insecurities, since he lives on his self-destructive thoughts, of his addictions, since he spends his time in porn theaters and eating junk food, Of his mental illnesses, since he does not look for a way to solve it, and of his life itself, since he punishes himself by putting himself in places that he himself says he hates, The world has evils, but Travis sought to clean them up mainly out of selfishness, because he did not know what to do with his life, among all his good intentions there was more selfishness to do something
      They even make you wonder if he was a real soldier since he doesn't know how to use weapons and asks first for the one he heard about, And the worst thing is that he heard it from a guy who did something very sick and he helped him with it.
      So brother, without belittling your point of view, I invite you to see more analysis and interviews of the film, since the same director and also the writer, have described Travis more as a warning than as an incentive, since he did bad things both directly and indirectly, And I am not judging you since I thought the same thing the first time I saw the movie, but for the same reason, I encourage you to see beyond your point of view, Travis really wasn't all a bad person, but he didn't know how to solve his problems and even though he ended up as a """hero""", he is not cured, but hey, I hope you can expand what you think of the movie and the character, since it is something very interesting and my comment is not to distance you from all this, on the contrary, it is so that you know a little more, I respect what you think, but what I say It is involved in things that have been said by people involved with the film plus my personal opinion formed based on interviews and analysis, I hope you can find more depth in this kind of movies since once you understand his message more, hit in a different way.

      @kingkrab5138 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tono6136 I agree with a lot of your points, the only part where I strongly disagree is about his “ignorance”. He became the way he did BECAUSE he knew about how shitty people could be. It was the complete opposite of ignorance that drove him to do what he did, he was 100% a true Marine. Even to this day the only branch of the US Military that has a mandatory pistol course is the Coast Guard. Travis was in the Marines and may not have received instruction on how to use handguns. My point is that there are no heroes if you look at things too purely, most heroes in the real world are very similar to Travis. A walking contradiction. I’ve seen the movie multiple times, I understand a good amount of Scorsese’s work. Disagreeing with you doesn’t mean I “don’t understand” the work. In the end, Travis was the closest most people can get to being a classical hero. A person only takes action after something has directly affected them and their worldview.

    • @tono6136
      @tono6136 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@kingkrab5138I say about ignorance since he does not know another world outside of violence and his self-destructive thoughts, that for our luck, the world is very big, yes, there are many problems in society that should concern us, now imagine a "marine" who fought for her, but Travis made society's problems his own, and to be honest, sadly there's not much he could do on his own, even after what he did, he only achieved a very fleeting self-sufficiency (since the end shows us that Travis is not cured and everywhere we are told that he is a time bomb about to explode again), although I must admit that I agree with you in many things that you say, although I still feel that it is not so, But look man, I respect what you think, despite everything it's still different from what I think, but the interpretations are for something, and the fact that you "don't understand the movie", well, I didn't say it like that (I'm not saying that you said it like that either) it's because I've had to read a lot of people who don't understand it almost at all and I found similarities between you and those people,but I say it again, I agree with you on certain things, I differ from others like Travis is a hero, but you also have your interpretation, and I respect it, The best thing we can do for ourselves and for the little healthy society is not to be like the rest, not to rot with it, and if we get to have someone, make that person not rot either, Only in this way could a real and good change be produced, since to be honest, Travis did do something half sick and half selfish behind all his good intentions, the real change starts within us, I mean, we cannot look for such a healthy society if within us we do not accept that we also have problems that we must fix, and the first step is simply to accept that we too can be wrong, that's why I love this movie, it shows us what a person could become if he makes the problems of others his own and does not attend to his own person, This was also taken a bit from the writer of the film, since it is a reflection of him when he was depressed, or also said in another way: sick, although yes, Travis is not someone healthy, and the biggest message that should be taken from the film is the search for mental health.

      After writing my first comment, I think you're kidding, and I'd rather that than romanticize this character and his destructive ways, than if someone identifies with him, they probably take them with him, So I'm telling you without any desire to offend my brother, in case you mean it, don't romanticize this character or the people who identify with him as they become destructive even with themselves, Take these kinds of characters for what they are, warnings of how "bad" we can become, so love yourself a little my brother by not getting involved with these people How to form a bond, if you want to get closer to them, let it be to help them and not to make them believe that they are fine just the way they are, If not, stay away for your own good and for the good of the other person, because yes, being like Travis is wrong, so for my brothers to identify with him, Please, try to improve and stop everything that hurts you, such as destructive thoughts, addictions, rejection of the whole society and things like that. But Travis had many more problems there than just that, so it never hurts to seek professional help, but always, the change is in oneself, so start doing it for your own good And for those who can accompany you at some point, so that they know the best version of you, which is the true one, a good life is not governed only by the experiences acquired, If not, it also does it due to the accumulation of good acts and habits acquired over time, so do the best possible for yourselves, brothers Remember that there will always be people like me willing to help you, as long as they do their part.
