    *50% distilled (mineral-free) water & 50% coolant is standard practice. Go with whichever type your vehicle calls for, don't just 2012 rule-of-thumb it, some machines as far back as 2006 use the OAT pink. Particularly Toyota. +1 subscription for you. Thanks.

    Water can be used as a coolant...
    Water freezes at 0 degrees and boils at 100 degrees....
    If you use only water it is fine just that after some running hours, you will have to top up....
    The "coolants" are mostly called antifreeze....
    This is because in the cold regions where temperatures can be negative, it will be impossible to start ur car in the morning.... For this reason Antifreeze were created so that even in very cold conditions the coolant in your car will not freeze....
    In simple terms coolants have a wider range of temperature than water... They are also expensive than water......
    So u choose which is best

      Thats good. And thanks for making good use ofmy platform to share further research on coolant to educate my audience. I believe water alone cant do the job of antifreeze. Thank you @Semavor Raymond. Will be happy if this wont be your last comment on my videos. Will be happier to learn more from you as well as i keep educating and puting content out. Jah bless

    ur wrong... u still can use green in new cars....green is for alluminium and iron block....red only alluminium....so i prefer green as it protects both alluminium and iron even though my engine is fully alluminium....but green shall be replaced 2yrs or 45xxxkm...red one much more

      1. Which coolant where you using before or was in it before you bought the car. If you bought it will its original color coolant, maintain it.
      2. If you car is old model use green or blue coolant, if its new model used red coolant, if you can get hybrid coolant is good for every year model

    How often must I top up the coolant? I realize the radiator reservoir gets overfilled when I top up but whenever I open the coolants tank I notice a drop and top up. I've had the coolant tank checked and there's no leakages too

    I have a 2010 vitz. I bought it straight from the port but it had a red coolant in it. That's why I continued with the red coolant. Do I need to change to the green/blue coolant since the car is a 2010 model?

    • @alaka1
      @alaka1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching my video and thanks the good comment or question. It may have new or current engine in it. However, 2010 cars sometimes has engines that are part of current car engine. Not neccessarily an old car. So please dont extract the coolant from the car. Leave that way and always remember to flush out and change whole coolant after 24000 to 30000 kilometres. Thank you

      1. Maintain original color coolant in the car before you bought it if its home used.
      2. If its old model use green or blue color coolant, if it new or current model use red or pink, if you can get hybrid coolant its good all year models.
