  • The tradition of camel racing can be traced back to the 7th century. One unique thing about how camel racing in the Gulf States is done today is that the camels are ridden by robots, not humans. Why? Keep watching to find out as we head to the Al Marmoom Dubai Camel Race Track in Dubai to learn all about robot jockey camel racing. Many thanks to Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach for hosting us!

    Wow what a great video. I really appreciate you speaking about certain topics that people might not be informed about. I really enjoy that your videos are full of fun and adventure but also a great deal of information. Can’t wait for the next one. 😉

      Thank you! That's definitely the goal. Families can have fun vacations without giving up opportunities to dig a little deeper to learn about a place. It doesn't have to be one or the other!

    Dubai is one of those countries that look like an amazing destination to visit but I’ve made a conscious decision not to for some of the reasons you’ve mentioned. That said I think you did an amazing job touching on those unfortunate subjects without ruining the goal of the video. I imagine that’s quite balancing act and I commend you & your family for it.

      Thank you! It's a city that has a lot to offer, but I think it's important for people to have a well-rounded view of the place. I'm glad we were able to strike that balance.

    This video is pretty lit 🔥 I’ve been watching your videos for a couple years now. I absolutely love your channel! The history, current culture and customs as well as the light brush of political issues and socio economic structure is phenomenal. Keep up the great work. I share your videos all the time to inspire more travel with my extended.

    Thank you for giving us such a balanced view about both socioeconomic realities coexisting there. I served in the military and lived 14 months in Kuwait. There just as you stated we encountered migrats from India and Pakistan every where. You'll love Kuwait if you visit it some day. They treated us so well there. Thanks again for sharing your perspectives. Love your family.

      I'm so glad to hear you had a good experience in Kuwait! I'd love to visit there - and much more of this region. Yes unfortunately the inequalities are very pronounced in this region, and most travel vlogs only show you the glamorous surface level of the city. Hopefully we managed to present a balanced view while showing respect to the people of the UAE.

    Wow! Awesome Awesome Awesome! showcase! Another great adventure! Its amazing how the girls are growing up right in front of our eyes and you guys are awesome parents for showing them the world so young! Anyways, thanks for showing more of the culture in Dubai. It's one of my stops when I start my world traveling. I see the girls won't havin' none of the camels in this one! They were troopers in the last Dubai adventure but still was not feelin' the camels😬Well Thanks again Top Flight Family, stay safe, be well see you in the next adventure and Peace & Blessings

    • @TopFlightFamily
      @TopFlightFamily  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha they were def not feeling the camels on our first trip to Dubai! Stay tuned though, because the camels got a little more love from them in city number 5. It's amazing for us to see them grow up too, especially when we revisit a place and look how small they were last time we were there! That's why it's amazing to document all of this. So many memories!

    Hi Carmen! Loving this video!😍 since our family want to plan a trip to Dubai in the near future we're trying to figure out costs and plan financially, how many days did you guys stay in Dubai? was it enough? Was the 4 Seaons worth it based on the extremely high cost per night? I was checking the price and it's about $1,300 pe night is that how much you guys paid? Our family love good upscale resorts, but not sure it t's worth it for this destination since the majority of the time we'll be out doing activities and getting to know the city like you guys and paying that much just to sleep it's something to think about. Was the location the main reason you guys choose that resort? I would appreciate some feedback, thanks in advance Carmen! (new subscriber, love your videos)

    I spent the month of February in Dubai. Found it to be quite paradoxical... $35.00 regular tasting, gold dusted cappuccino at the Burj to the best tasting .40 Saffron tea at Azir's Cafeteria in Deira. It's definitely a place with something for everyone. Really depends on the experience you hope to have. PS: I got to have a conversation with one Emirati woman and 2 Emirati men, but I had to work to find them, and I was there 28 days. Safe Travels, One Love, KiM

    I’m sorry but the commentary at around 5:00 is just wrong. Emiratis are in many positions and you will definitely encounter them if you go to certain cultural places. And I also had the misconception that all Emiratis are rich, until we had a female Emirati tour guide, she worked very hard and was studying to be a petroleum engineer. Also lots of locals working at the Expo, and events like NYE.
