bought your fjällräven trousers yesterday. took em to the test, through mud and thorny bushes. Really love my new pants they are perfect for my lifestyle which is off roads and into the bush.
I’m feeling very warm inside at all this praise for a product that I grow. The merino wool that we grow now is finer and more comfortable than it was when I started farming over forty years ago, and a lot of work has gone into reducing the “itchy” feeling that some of the old style wools were noted for. Thankyou all…….. Peter from Australia.
my favorites are the merino wool shirts i find at the thrift stores for 1 or 2 dollars......but im in south florida where nobody wears wool so they can be bought dirt cheap.
Here are some other benefits. - Stays warm when wet compared to cotton and most other fibers. - Is one of the most flame and ember resistant clothing materials. - Can hold significantly more water weight before feeling wet on skin than almost all other fibers - Is silent when moving through woods for hunting, compared to canvas/nylon/rainwear. - Doesn't freeze solid when wet. - Wicks moisture away from skin while trapping heat keeping you warm and dry. - Naturally water resistant form lanolin in the fibers. - Does not shed microplastic into environment. - Doesn't leach phtalates into skin when sweating like synthetics do.
Your outdoor channel is my favorite, I will keep sub to this one! Your recent Norway hike was a blessing to see, your BEST video yet, amazing! Thank you for sharing your beautiful adventure with us! 🍂😊🍁
Nice looking anorak. But more important (to me at least) looks really comfy! And yeah... I also have some outdoors clothes that has the smell of campfire to them. I love that!
Fully aggree with that. I just finished my viking wool caftan - double wool. Felted undyed wool on the inside, fulled loden on the outside. Everything was hand-sewn. The caftan is heavy, but so cuddly warm.
Way back in some of your earlier videos I saw your original anorak from Modern Woolfare, and purchased one. I absolutely love wearing it, it is perfect for the woods. Another benefit of these wool shirts not mentioned is how they will shed some rain, but if they do get wet wool will still keep you warm. I don’t think the weight is an issue when hiking as this one shirt allows you to eliminate the need for extra layers carried, but if you do have to pack it it can be a bit bulky.
It's already been frosty over the past 3 days here (somewhat early), I'm rather eyeing up the poncho or the cape. Oh decisions, decisions! Cheers Bjorn!
Just thought I'd let you know, in the end I went for the poncho - it's so windy here I thought the cape might be blown up round my neck, so the poncho I can carry things underneath or grab from inside to wrap round me more. Thank you - the discount popped up automatically at the checkout. Much appreciate it.
This was WAY back in the 70s, when I was a teen. I had bought a wool jacket and skirt, and waiting in line to see a film, it rained. Of course, my wool jacket had a smell from the lanolin/rain. People in the theatre moved away to other seats ... haha. Oh well. I wonder if our "new" wool stuff is treated, because you don't get that smell when it rains. Things that make you go hmmm.............. Love you, brother! xx
@@jennifermarlow. Perhaps you know, but the lanolin is the natural grease that comes from the sheep’s skin. For most woollen products, the lanolin is washed out - hence the lack of smell - but some manufacturers of outdoor clothing prefer it to be left in for added water resistance. Cheers…. Peter (Australian woolgrower)
I remember as a teenager buying my own clothes for the first time. Regardless of style, I still wear some of the wool clothes I bought. The rest has long since worn out. I buy a lot of wool, now. For warmer clothing, at least.
I wear Pendleton wool shirts in the fall and winter, all wool, beautifully made. Old school shirts made for 150yrs and a favorite of outdoorsmen, sportsmen and women here in the states. Not cheap by any means but well worth the money as they last for years, get softer the longer they're worn, warm and cozy. I'm sure yours is just as nice. Thanks Bjorn.
I highly recommend people to get some Wool undergarments of some type. When the power rationing hits you will thank me. You want at least 20%. More would be better. Along with a wool hat / beanie to keep your head warm. Lot of heat escapes from the head.
I love wool that shirt is very similar to my swanndri smock although I don't buy them since they moved manufacturing to china because the quality went way down
I was looking at that shirt based on your recommendations. Noticed an option for adding pockets up top . Also noticed yours (Anorak) doesn't have them . Is there a reason why , or is it a matter of personal taste ? Thanks in advance if you happen to read this and reply .
A problem with Bushcraft products is, that they are manufactured in England, outside EU. This means that the Finnish Customs want their share, which is about 20 percent additional to the original price. Stupid Brexit!
@@alex-adrian not as itchy as you might think. It’s a boiled wool and far less itchy than old blankets that’s for sure. That aside they’re of course not cashmere in feel, however they’re very well suited to a rugged outdoor lifestyle and I don’t even notice it and possible irritation

I live in England. Would love to visit Norway in my life at some point.
Thank you Bjorn, your support over the years has been invaluable
Thank you, and likewise!
love your videos. If it keeps the sheep warm it will keep a human being warm. there's no bad weather only bad clothing. all the best Bjorn.
Exactly what we say!🤘

Love wool. My favorite medium to make my rugs
Very easy to sew by hand. Keeps its shape. Lasts for ever so long.
Hello from Winnipeg Canada… we love wool clothing in our cold climate too. Thanks for sharing.😊take care.
I wish I could live in an outdoors area like that. I can’t drive and got only A bunch of fields near where I live.

On the plus side: even soaking wet the wool will keep you warm in the freezing cold! :)
That is very true! I forgot to mention that.

Been looking for one for here is the Rocky Mountains!
I think they ship worldwide. You can check it out - link to my gear list in video description. It's the woolshirt.
@ most American companies don’t know how to make wool outer garments that are comfortable.
merino wool for hiking
Yes, and I actually have a great merino wool t-shirt that I use for longer treks.
im so sad that im allergic to wool. its such a nice material. it does look like a very nice shirt.

A suggestion on your belt. Run it through the pocket instead of over it. Easier access to the pocket.
Good point!
I can't find that exact shirt where I'm looking.
I am sure they can make one just like that for you. Just send them a message or email.
