@@tgrandmortdefou9852 A lot of bad things, like taking peoples money and not delivering anything for a long time, silencing everyone who spoke out about it with permanent bans from the game, and some fans of the game sending death threats to a TH-camr named Anthomnia because he made a video about all the drama.

@@xeno07_max20 Considering the Kickstarter was to pay for 3 custom models, I still can't understand why this myth of the game being an 'asset flip' got traction. Would people have preferred the concept demo to just show some box's flying around with 'dragon' written on them?

Some of the skins you were seeing were skin crafts. Skins that can't be selected only bred with certain skin combos
i gotta admit the flying does look really good, it looks like it's got weight to it, which is very nice. Good to see this game finally evolve, I'm excited to see how much it develops in the future

Same. I wasn’t happy with what happened when it was first released but that doesn’t mean I don’t want the game to succeed and improve.
According to their development path they are ahead of schedule.

@@hikaru9624 I was given a free key for Draconia and it's definitely interesting with many of the character choices you get to play as. Excited to see what the community can create when they look at the customization.
I'm surprised Dreamworks hasn't said anything yet, cause this dragon is literally just toothless from How to Train Your Dragon, all the way down to the animations. The differences between it and toothless are so small it's like... how are they getting away with it LOL.
it looks like quite a few of their dragon/creature concepts have Very heavy inspiration from other media lol. it's kinda disappointing honestly

The "Shadow Scale" is literally just Toothless/Night Fury.
Because the dragons from the movie were some dragons from myths

Dragon: The Game, before the devs tried to change it and it turned into shit, gave the vibes that this game gives.
For those who don't know there's a dead and real shitty dragon game out there. I got it when it truly had some kind of potential; it was still very early progress but the flying, the dragon models, it was all so much fun. I'd spend hours flying through (barren) mountains and the only thing there was to do was kill sheep, wolves and destroy castles with little npcs but I had fun with it anyways because the mechanics were so good. One day when I came back home from school I saw there was an update and it broke it all. The dragon models were horrid, half of the buttons didn't work, flying was turned into garbage and the terrain was reduced to flat terrain with trees. The castles were still there but they weren't fun anymore. There were quests now but they wouldn't save and the game crashed a lot.
I still don't know why whoever made this game tried to update it and why they did so terribly, but ever since I've ben longing for a game that would give me the same fun for hours. I'm so happy this game was done how it should have been.
That sounds fun- and honestly how I hope this game will turn out eventually. Even if they aren’t humans and are fantasy npc villages, I look forward to being the dragon I’ve always wished to be.
The FS walking, trotting, and running animation looks great. Can't wait to see all the other one's when they're all done.
Oh wow! I remember seeing the empty maps and such but my goodness, this looks so nice! I may consider trying out the game's beta since this looks much more lively than earlier gameplay I've seen :0
It is infinitely better, that is for sure. I managed to get 9 hours in the alpha build, but in the beta I've already amassed 50 (lol I know.) It's only going to get better from here so I really recommend giving it another go!

EDIT: holy shit i didnt know they gave the nightfury's abilities as well oof. it's easy to make good models when u can rip off the design's from other media. god this game makes me so sad

Although annoying, I appreciate that it is difficult to fly and takes time to master, it adds a more realistic feel to the game, instead of just pressing a button and flying around without a care, there's a reason to pay attention or you'll fall and die, or land too hard, or smash into a tree. It's like you are a baby dragon trying to figure out how to fly.
i feel like the dragons dont really fit with the environment and its a bit annoying but other than that it seems pretty cool

How is it not messed up? The dragons seem like rip offs, look like out of a cartoon, and besides sitting around growing and flying theres nothing to do. This game is sh*t xD

All you can do is run for two hours trying to find a water hole, sit to regain stamina, eat drink and get killed.
It’s no fun...
They need to add more fun things to do.

Each of the dragons have their own nest, the Acid spitter can have 5 in one nest, the Shadow scale can have 3

Nest crafting is a mechanic planned for a future update, such as gathering sticks and rocks for nest building. It is also planned for dragons to breathe their element onto their eggs to incubate them, acid for drake, fire for wyvern etc. You should check the games minimum required specs on steam and check your pc specs, I have a lower end laptop myself and this is the ONLY game I have that runs smooth as butter.

The flying looks awesome, but just like in the isle, there seems to be little to nothing fun you can do...
It’s like fun for the first 2 days, then it gets so boring that you log off and forget about it completely lmao

it makes sense that there would be night fury like dragons, cuz yaknow they are DRAGONS, and its a dragon fantasy world after all

Pretty much since you can't fly as a dragon in Istaria unless you pay for a membership and then grind levels like crazy to get there, no thank you...especially when being a dragon was the only reason I tried that game, such a let down. Many MMO's that have flight as an option at least allow you to around level 14 or 20.

ArchAge for an example gives way better options for flight of many kinds even if it too has too much P2W

Perfect World had flying too and you could become a mermaid...no matter if stuff is P2W it's still fun to try something new ^.^ (Yeah I liked that game for awhile too, but for me to stick with a P2W it has to be something that keeps me coming back, even Everquest 2 didn't keep me)

Im still sceptical, I'd be extremely surprised if all of those models weren't taken from the store in some form. They were using Unka (spelling?) The dragon for long enough. The animations here are suspiciously good - on par with Unka.
Try not to get suckered in by the beauty of games like these, Unreal engine makes it stupidly easy to throw something like this together and have it look good with minimal effort.
I wouldn't touch this game with a 10ft pole.
This looks a completely different game to it's earlier build and now it actually appears to be something to buy. I looked at DoD around Dec/Jan this year and chose to get PoT.
Great video which could have been 3 times as long and still be as involving.
I'm not really sure how I feel about it so far but I have to admit that flying is actually really well done
Would be nice if they added something in the future like when your wings touch the water or smt
Oh yeah and have some water effects. That would be awesome, like when flying low it causes disturbance on the water surface.
They should add flight animation emotes like spinning and flips
I’ve always wanted a game where the flying is much more free then just flying up and down and forward, like I wanna do tricks and flips
I mean, it's a massive improvement from the "scam build". Mesh collision needs work, but so does a lot of other indie games. Models aren't AAA quality, but if they allow more customization, it would probably work. Imagine having different kinds of animals that the dragons can eat spawning in random places.
But the best parts are the flying mechanics and the calls that you can do as a baby that gives character to the dragon, more so than something realistic like Path of Titans.
That flying footage though.....pretty cool. I hope Path of Titans can add cool flying mechanics as well, if they were to add pterosaurs.

While DoD is a crappy, almost all steam bought asset game, a very large portion of steam games ARE beta games, and has been forever. Some of the best games on there are in beta and have been for a decade. If you want indie, then go indie, but don't complain about having to pay for early access to a game from a small company lol.
@@FurballTTV it would be different if they didnt already receive donations from a kickstarter, ontop of lying to us about how complete the game is, hes completely in the right to complain about a $20 fee to play a game that is no where near complete, look at splitgate they are still free and in beta phase, but have So Much More done like cmon now this is just pathetic, also wasnt their like lead dev literally silenced by the rest of the team because he kept starting fights with youtubers etc?
@@madladzgaming2562 I only read about a sentence or two of your post, because you're wrong. His complaint is about paying for a game in beta, not paying for a shit pile of a game like DoD. If you want to play a game in beta/early access, rather that DoD, 7 days to die, the isle, or some other title, be prepared to pay for that access, with the expectation and knowledge that the game isn't going to be complete. Hence the early access/beta bit. If you don't like it, then don't pay for it. Simple as that. So again, didn't bother reading your whole reply because you clearly missed the mark of his complaint, and my response to it.

I’d less call it a rip off and more catering to demand. Because I guarantee that somewhere someone will be crying “why can’t we have a dragon that looks like ****”
As someone said it’s feeding into what they know people will want. Besides- no matter what, any dragon you make has been done before somehow or way. It just so happens Toothless’ design is very well known now.
Personally I prefer the Acid Spitter- and yeah I’d like them to have had a dragon more like say- the dragon from pagemaster- it’s not a bad choice if trying to get some kind of draw as HTTYD is still strong a fandom.

The only playable dragons are the shadow scare and acid drake, others are being worked on but yea only two dragons so far

Thanks for sharing. This gives me a better impression than what Steam shows. But I'll wait before I buy something, because I can't quite figure out what kind of game it will be in the end. It's more of a simolator than a game at the moment.

This game looks super cool and I love it. But I personally would love to see more games where you can be a human and ride dragons and where there's a whole bunch of different and unique dragon species.

Drama from development team is normal believe it or not happens a lot in the game development industry so I saw this game becoming better over time
Taking thousands of pounds in a kick starter for an asset flip, hard coding bans into your game to keep critical TH-camrs out and then vanishing with all of that money is a little more than the usual drama 😂

I love the sounds of the acid spitter they sound like hyenas. And the idea of them is pack animals.
At this point in the game- it’s a stance of faith. Only one side will stand laughing and no one knows who it will be: the ones who had faith in the game, or those who cried scam.
For now. I’m standing by this game. The isle was once on these levels and look at it now! Sure. Still a long way to go. But hey. Good things take time.

I remember the drama of this way back! I figured this would have been straight up cancelled. Guess not, and look they straight up took every design/concept aspect of the nightfury from HTTYD loool.
Right down to the appearance, flight pattern, invisibility, blue glow and plasma shot. Thats sad, not worth anyone's money imo, thank you for this vid!

fun fact! This isn't the only game that allows you to be a dragon! Istaria was among the first in the RPG sense with other players. But Draconia is also playable and has dragons as well.
Is it worth buying/getting now? Cause i remember seehing videos and reviews couple months ago on it saying to wait a bit before buying cause it was bad
Gameplay is still light on the ground with only two dragons (both with very diffrent gameplay styles and very fun. You wouldn't have to buy the DLC, you can be nested in) and the map is still very much a work in progress. If you want to wait till the game is a lot more polished and there is more to keep you intrested then I would say wait till the end of the year/start of next when the Genesis update is expected. This will add a second AI creature, two more dragons that were shown on the menu screen, the Magma Elemental (a playable boss creature) and a second map - the Lava lands. It's still loads of fun to play in its current state, and the developers are being amazing at listning to the community, but not everyone wants to play something that is still being put together.

This is definitely one of those games that make you lean in real life in hopes that it will help you turn better in the game.
Not the the only dragon game out there, but somewhat improved from what it was it seems

My biggest problem with this game is the dragon models. They look like one of those goofy plastic or rubber dinosaur toys you would get in a bag of 30 for like $3 back in the day. Don't know if that's just for these two dragon breeds but hopefully the models change in the future. That being said this game has a lot of potential to be really cool (:

This is what the concept should have been imo.. still A LONG way to go for me to actually want to buy or even play this game. I love survival games, but id get bored of what's currently available in a day.

Unless you can get steam on Ps4/5, then I'd say only pc. But its not really worth it from what I've experienced. More power to you if you want to give them money, but I won't be giving the DOD team any more of my money
@@jaychirps Right now it reminds me a LOT like what Wolfquest Anniversary edition was when it was in beta and now that game is super fun and has a lot more stuff. I think this game just needs some more time with the developers to really make it worth the money, but I definitely have faith in it!
