Oh my gosh, I TOTALLY want to do this tag. You have inspired me to start reading again about two years ago. Thanks to you I have joined two book clubs and have made reading a fun priority. Thank you and I am going to try to film this for an upcoming video. :)

Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë is so good. The main character, Agnes, is such a sweetheart. I think this is a great tag!

I recently got into classic and every time I search they're always a list of the same books. Same goes to the classic books youtubers they are always recommending the same variety. You are the only one that mentioned books that I did not encounter during my search. haha thank you!

LOVE this video!! I am Lit Grad Student, my last semester is this Spring. I am taking a British Comic class where we will be reading Wodehouse and Waugh. The professor did his dissertation on Evelyn Waugh, so I am sure it will be a great class. I am slowly building up my list of classics and I am excited to try some of these.

Fab video and fab picks Emma 💕
My soul reading goal for the decade ahead is to finally get through Don Quixote in its entirety. I have started it about 4 times, have enjoyed the beginning each and every time, but it always gets shelved for something else 😅 So flipping big. Such a commitment 😅
As a fellow Twain nut and as someone who would dearly love to get her hands on all 3 volumes of his autobiography (but whose purse doesn't quite stretch that far) I can highly, highly, highly recommend the version that was put out by 'Harper Perennial Modern Classics' in 2013. It's a condensed edition, edited by Charles Neider. It still comes in at a hefty 560 pages, but it covers the big moments of his life and I believe it is the first edition of his autobiographical writings to be put in chronological order, which made it all the more enjoyable to dive into.
I also recommend seeking out the biography 'Mark Twain: Man in White: The Grand Adventure of his Final Years' by Michael Shelden. I read it earlier this year and it was superb 😉 x

Lee Mac Ohh thanks for the Twain tips and good luck with Don Quixote! I read it in college and liked it - it’s always lurking at the back of my TBR as something I’d like to reread though!

Christy Luis Reviews: Books Worth Your Time Thank you so much for watching! 😄 I’m having a rough time with Midnight’s Children too - there have been some interesting lines and images, but I’m only 150 page in, and it’s really dragging. 😐 I might put it aside and try again sometime in the future.

I will be revisiting Rain of Gold by my favorite author Victor Villaseñor. This book is very relatable. I can connect with my families migration into the United States. Although this book has a setting during the Mexican Revolution (early 1900’s) I enjoyed every bit of it. I also will be reading the Call the Midwife series. The books are based on a nurse during the 1940’s who stayed with nuns and delivered babies in East London. The best part is these stories are real.

You are right about the palaces in South Korea. You can typically rent a hanbok at a vendor near to the palace. Our children are Korean and we have visited multiple times. Seoul is amazing. The food is fantastic. We enjoy KDramas and KPop, as well. We love Korea.

I LOVE Pilgrim's Progress. I think you will really enjoy it. I have to do this tag! I was compiling my list of classics for 2020 and they are all massive books. I know I won't finish them all next year so a decade long list seems appropriate.

We have been reading Pilgrim's Progress at church. My mom loves the book and gave me a copy when I was young and I love it too. Also, you give such good recommendations. While I myself am not Catholic, I am interested in the saints. Are there other saints you would recommend one reading? Thank you! Love your videos. ❤

littlenavybrat littlenavybrat Thanks! Hmm...I think the letters of St Catherine of Siena are really good - there’s a nice free kindle version, and I found them very relatable, it’s like she’s writing to you! St Therese of Lisieux’s Story of a Soul is also popular. I’d like to read the writings of St. Francis de Sales or St. Ignatius of Loyola, but I haven’t started them yet!

Two k- dramas I would recommend to watch are Hwarang and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (or Goblin: The Lonely and Great God depending on the platform you use to watch). If you have not watched Hwarang yet there is a cast member you may recognize.
