I feel like Amanda did the regular bomb on purpose for Clayface as a demonstration/show of force. She's shown in previous pieces of DC media to at least be aware of the criminals she puts into the squad, so she is at least aware that she can't kill Clayface normally.
There’s no way Amanda Waller didn’t know clay face can’t die from a simple explosion to the head, when I first watched it i thought she exploded the whole body or she it was just a warning shot, but looking at the iPad marking a X on clay face making her a idiot
I see two possibilities, either it was really a warning shot, although with her it is unlikely, or Clayface said he could move his organs, so even with his physiology he still has vital organs like a brain and a heart, perhaps Waller was confident thinking she could kill him by blowing up his brain, but I still see something inconsistent in leaving a creature like Clayface who could easily remove the bomb from his head as a member of the squad.

He joined because it would be fun. After they find out he didn’t die and ask him why he didn’t do anything sooner his answer was essentially “and spoil the plot?” He’s an actor and this looked like a fun role to play to him
If you could join one of the wildest merc groups, and be immune to the typical consequences. why wouldn't you? Best case scenario, you complete every mission and get set free. Worst case, you walk away.

Man I'm still confused as to why they wanted to make Clayface as a human with Clay powers and not the big monster he's always has been that's probably one of the reasons why this anime sucks changing alot of the characters personalities and giving them new stuff they never did before to fit a anime setting and not giving them any of there original voice actors and actresses is just a new low
I would agree if it weren't for the fact that this isn't the first animated version of Clayface we got, we got the Batman tas version, two versions in The Batman 2004, A version in Brave and the bold film, Hush, and the Harley Quinn show So why is it an issie that this one version decides to take on his human form

Clayface is just taking the form of a guy in this, either that or this is what he originally looked like before the accident. His character was never a monster, I think you perceived him wrong. He's a guy trying to live a normal life despite having it taken away from him, so he is constantly trying to be something other than his clay form.
Clayface referencing Terminator 2 is the true highlight of this show.
