I bought tickets at the last minute to the November 2019 Newton, NJ concert, check that event, no wait funfest? It was two hours of non-stop, a single performer going at warp speed, to the delite of a mixed age group that hung onto every note, gesture, and gag. Perhaps the best two hours I have ever experienced. Simply outstanding! And then Puddles goes into the lobby to take pictures and give cuddles to every fan that wants one. Bravo, money well spent!
as a person who is hearing impaired, and have worn a hearing aid since I was 5, (I'm 61 now), It is wonderful to understand every word that Puddles sings. Although, Roy was pretty good at that also...
Can't wait to hear his voice on my system been converting about 12 tracks so far and will sound amazing it's so live not what recording studios do to music and then mix it ughhh
I volunteered at Musikfest as a stage manager. I had the pleasure of talking with Puddles a few minutes. He was the best performer ever at the Sun Inn stage. Very friendly with staff and audience. Completely no drama on his part. I wish all the performers were like him! And it was kinda cool seeing him on TV a few years later. Like I said to Puddles , you have talent so never stop singing! Even if you sing on the street corners for free -do it because you have the talent and success (in the form of making a living singing) will come one day. Puddles is the only sad clown who can brighten peoples' day with his voice.
The only person besides the late, great Roy that can nail this song is K.D. Lang. But you, my favorite clown, have raised the bar. Fantastic!!!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Roy Orbison has set the bar so high that no one even attempts to touch it. Many have tried and K.D. Lang comes closest...until this guy. I clicked on this expecting a joke, and got this. Amazing.
This happened to be my father's favorite song when he was alive. Unfortunately my Dad took his own life ten yrs ago at the age of 63. He was my best friend and the greatest father in the universe. I haven't been right since. I'm walking around with a huge hole in my heart. I think of him all day everyday and hearing u sing his favorite song the way u sang it caused me to be flooded with beautiful memories of him and I wasn't focusing on his death or how he died for once. I wanna thank u for that. U r amazing on so many levels. Please don't stop.
Oh jeeze, I almost made it to the end of this song without crying and then I read this comment. Now I'm crying. I'm so sorry for your loss and pain. And your dad's pain that he left you with. I'm so glad Puddles could help you move through that pain and feel the happy memories you had with your dad. Puddles is amazing like that, isn't he? 💗 I identify with you. I miss my dad very much, too. He was my best friend and the best dad, too. He suffered a lot before he died. His death was torture for him, and for me to watch him go through. He would also have loved puddles. Here's to sad but wonderful dads and this here sad, beautiful clown.
The person who transitions experiences great joy we are infinite multidimensional conciousness beyond time and space without boundary the human experience is short
I think Roy would have been very pleased with this version; you not only do justice to this song, but your voice is perfect to hit those higher pitched notes that Roy excelled at! Bravo Puddles!👏👏👏
Roy Orbison was awesome and anyone that can pull of singing any of his songs with the amazing range that he had in all of his songs is a musical bad ass, in my opinion. Well done Sir, well done.
There are a few songs that I feel should never be touched except by the original artist. This is one of them. I never dreamed that I'd change that rule for a 6'8 clown.
As with all his performances his diction is perfect . In almost every cover he has done I have heard the words for the first time and in most cases I hear all the words I never hear in the original recordings
What I love about his talent is that he brings the lyrics of each song alive. He’s doing more than just excellently vocalizing. For sure I am addicted to his work. He is a talent unto himself and I cannot imagine anyone he is comparable to. Not better than... just unique. I sincerely hope he is being rewarded and feels the joy he infuses into his viewers.
Nailed it. I knew you would. But you know what I missed? Your hand movements, the way you make your whole body deliver a song. My only wishes were that the guitar went away and your cameraman delivered motion sickness remedies .... But you? You are perfection. You can sing anything.
SimplySadie I felt that playing guitar affected his phrasing. At least when I'm playing guitar, I'm more ridged when I sing so I multi trac when I can. Maybe it's all projection.
I'm actually surprised and amazed at his ability as a guitarist and singer. I know he can sing. No doubt about that, but I LOVE seeing him play as well. I'm a 40 year guitarist, and know it is not easy to play and sing, but to sing like THAT and still accompany like that.... you just can get that kind of intimacy recording into a computer and backing tracks. Bravo Big Mike!!!
Dear Puddles I watched and listened 3 years ago to your voice and to this day , you are a Genius , Golden voice of which we need in these trying times and I knew 3 years ago that you would inspire the country with your voice and unique quality of entertainment, Thank you from the bottom of my heart and from all the introverts out there! keep on singing my friend!
Roy Orbison had such a signature voice that I have always thought that doing a cover of his work even the very popular "Crying" was just poor form. That was till I heard your version. You simply made the song yours and you did it beautifully. Thank you!
I saw Roy Orbison live at an outdoor music festival, Big Valley Jambouree, in Canada in 1983. He had that feel and soul in his music that was deep....Mike caught it here. This cover song is a very worthy one that truly pays tribute to the original.
Puddles Pity Party I listened to all your songs. Of course I am not an English dude. But I could say if one day, I have to see a super start fo music that touch me and voice I really enjoy, you are the one I would like to listen to. I sing Karaoke from time to time in my little town. and your voice is the closest one i could barely try to reach, but I like the most. I subscribed to your youtube thing and hope one day to listen to you in live. Good luck in your career an d hope to see you one day in real
Love..love..love Puddles. I could listen for HOURS (I actually do!) I even turned my work partner on to Puddles and we listened at work all day! What a golden voice....pure and emotional....timeless......
My favorite song by Roy. Absolutely incredible. Thank you so much for posting all these videos. I am a baritone singer and I'm quite self conscious about it, but seeing it done so well gives me the motivation to keep working. Keep on rocking Puddles. P.S. - I think your voice would sound great covering "Valerie" by Amy Winehouse
Damn, that was awesome! Before Roy Orbison passed away (during the traveling Wilbury's days) I was a carpenter and we'd stop off in Malibu at the "Malibu Colony" coffee shop (not there anymore) for breakfast. Roy Orbison walks in with his trademark dark sunglasses & black tee shirt and sits in the booth right next to mine. He sat so close to me that I could literally reach over and touch him! I didn't, but I did tell him that I was a fan and I loved his music.
I am hooked on Puddles Pity Party. I think you are SO TALENTED, with a beautiful voice that I absolutely love. As a musician, born in the 50's, I can tell you that the music you sing absolutely speaks to me. Keep it up.
One of the only acts today that I enjoy. I like everything about this guy especially when he drags up unsuspecting folks and makes them sing. I don't know... He just brings a boatload of happiness when he performs. I wish I could go see him live.
Puddles you are amazing. Your voice is just so beautiful. Please keep your show going, the world needs you. You teach us how to show empathy without speaking a word.
Interesting Puddles, I think you’re terrific !! Thinking about how Orbison did it I think he had a lot of falsetto which I didn’t notice that you incorporated in the song you your head voice in the part where it says” it’s hard to understand just a touch of your hand”, I thought it was a good job and each of your range that had voice so I wonder how it would’ve sounded with the falsetto but having said that I think overall you have a very unique style that incorporates a lot of different ways of singing that may or may not have been done before. I do absolutely think you’re terrific and I’m not being critical. I like the different genres and variety of songs you do even the mash ups somehow mesh together, you are a great sensation I know that you have given this characterYou portray and even your person under the makeup has studied and practiced many hours. In these days of the music business and theater and most of the things, it’s all about inventing yourself and making your dreams come true and I think that’s what you have done 😁😁😁😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶🎵
Mind-blowing performance, as always. Huge fan here! :) Honestly had to minimize the video, due to motion-sickness (but I kept listening!)... I had the same issue on the "Heaven" video. Just wanted to let you know. Please keep making more videos! :)
I've got to say that Crying has always been one of my favorite songs. That said, I'm also very picky about covers. I have to say Puddles, you've done a bang-up job. Thank You!
I have always been a music in the background kind of guy, I heard it, I recognized it, but the lyrics rarely caught my attention enough against whatever else I was doing to stop what I was doing. This made me stop what I was doing and gave me chills, thanks for what you do!
I bought tickets at the last minute to the November 2019 Newton, NJ concert, check that event, no wait funfest? Bravo, money well spent!
He is unbelievable!!
This sad clown has one beautiful crystal clear enunciating and powerful voice ..
as a person who is hearing impaired, and have worn a hearing aid since I was 5, (I'm 61 now), It is wonderful to understand every word that Puddles sings. Although, Roy was pretty good at that also...
That’s why I LOVE him 😍 and his vibrato is perfect- he doesn’t sound like he’s under water 👍🏻
Can't stop YouTubing this guy!!!! Unbelievably talented! He truly is THE VOICE!!!!
Me too! I keep finding more of his work .....
✋Guilty
Same here. Totally addicted to his voice and character.
Yep day 3 of puddles.
Can't wait to hear his voice on my system been converting about 12 tracks so far and will sound amazing it's so live not what recording studios do to music and then mix it ughhh
I'm a huge Roy Orbison fan..the original is always the standard, but this was rich, warm, beautiful and flawlessly done.
Hello DeeDee! I miss MusikFest so much. I miss those days.
Yeah I'm no longer afraid of clowns
The only person besides the late, great Roy that can nail this song is K.D. Lang. But you, my favorite clown, have raised the bar. Fantastic!!!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
You have obviously never heard Tony Angelino singing it down in the Starlight Rooms in Peckham!
Have you heard Don Mclean's version?
Roy Orbison has set the bar so high that no one even attempts to touch it. Many have tried and K.D. Lang comes closest...until this guy. I clicked on this expecting a joke, and got this. Amazing.
How is it possible to be as great Roy Orbinson? Pure and unique.
This happened to be my father's favorite song when he was alive. Unfortunately my Dad took his own life ten yrs ago at the age of 63. He was my best friend and the greatest father in the universe. 🤍
I’m sorry for your loss.

Roy Orbison was awesome and anyone that can pull of singing any of his songs with the amazing range that he had in all of his songs is a musical bad ass, in my opinion. Well done Sir, well done.
It's okay, I didn't need to feel joy ever again in my life. This song is just perfect. I love it.
There are a few songs that I feel should never be touched except by the original artist. This is one of them.
I never dreamed that I'd change that rule for a 6'8 clown.
Fritz, you took the words right out of my mouth.
I respectfully disagree. Love k.d. lang's version as well as Don McLean's. But I also love your comment, Fritz! And LOL to Guy.
I can't believe how fast I went from "What in the Hell is Google suggesting now?" to "How could I not know this glorious transcendent thing exists?"
Yep, that's why we're all here!
And Roy Orbison looked down from the heavens smiling.........
Bravo !
One of the most talented voices I have heard in the past decade, in a decade when we truly need such fresh talent.
I hear all the words and get their significance in your songs whereas as I mostly don't in other people's singing. It's quite amazing.
As with all his performances his diction is perfect . In almost every cover he has done I have heard the words for the first time and in most cases I hear all the words I never hear in the original recordings
100pcRenewables He enunciates every word, every syllable perfectly.
ditto
What I love about his talent is that he brings the lyrics of each song alive. He’s doing more than just excellently vocalizing.
For sure I am addicted to his work. He is a talent unto himself and I cannot imagine anyone he is comparable to. Not better than... just unique. I sincerely hope he is being rewarded and feels the joy he infuses into his viewers.
Man Mike what a tribute. Not too many falsettos come out of you, power voice.
Nailed it. I knew you would. But you know what I missed? Your hand movements, the way you make your whole body deliver a song. My only wishes were that the guitar went away and your cameraman delivered motion sickness remedies .... But you? You are perfection. You can sing anything.
SimplySadie I love the hand gestures too. but I actually think the mood was set perfectly in this video.
Bravo Big Mike!!!
I didn't know he plays guitar. I think he should play more guitar, it makes him even more an artist/ musician.
+dogboy1953 he has been around for a while I saw him in Atlanta Georgia years ago. also check out
POST MODERN JUKEBOX he was with them for a while.
Puddles pity party is incredible I have never seen someone that puts so much emotion into there music. There is truly nothing better
this is so amazing! I never thought anyone could cover Orbison......nothing short of perfect here.
Thanks Mike for making the world a little brighter..
Literally gave me chills.
Amazing Puddles.....how about Blue Bayou cover!!!!!! I'm sure you're voice would be excellent for it
that would be so good!!!!!!!!
Yes, in the beginning of this song it was giving me bayou vibes.
Total agreement!
Please Puddles do Blue Bayou!
had that exact thought when he started singing this!! actually a lot of Roy would probably sound amazing covered by him
I'm so glad you did this song. I've always loved it.
Wow. I was expecting something like Orbison, but you made this song your own brilliantly. Thanks for the great work.
Bless you, Puddles, for doing justice to this song!
Roy Orbison had such a signature voice that I have always thought that doing a cover of his work even the very popular "Crying" was just poor form. That was till I heard your version. You simply made the song yours and you did it beautifully. Thank you!
I'm blown away every time I hear Puddles sing. I amazed by his awesomeness.
Thank you. You are amazing.
I'm also watching everything you are posting... Just wonderful. More please....
I've always loved this song. and this cover is just amazing.
I saw Roy Orbison live at an outdoor music festival, Big Valley Jambouree, in Canada in 1983. He had that feel and soul in his music that was deep....Mike caught it here. This cover song is a very worthy one that truly pays tribute to the original.

another awesome rendition
So happy that a friend of mine pointed me in Puddles direction. My wife and I enjoy everything he does. Musical nourishment for the heart and soul.
People don't realize just how big a talent Puddles is. He needs normal sized people around him so you can see he's 6'8".
After "It's a Heartache", "Dancing Queen", and this Orbison number, I think I want to hear every song I ever loved done over again in YOUR voice.
Only found you a few days ago - but now I sing along with you each new day!
Great cover of one of my all time favorite artists
Ohhh Puddles!!
Someone give me a hug
i will
A Puddles Cuddle!
juggernaut4 love from India

Amazing! Puddles, you are truly the greatest!
Love..love..love Puddles. I could listen for HOURS (I actually do!) I even turned my work partner on to Puddles and we listened at work all day! What a golden voice....pure and emotional....timeless......
Oh Puddles please don't cry.
Don't you just want to hug him? I know I do.
yes, poor Puddles
So you do or you don't like Puddles? I'm confused.
Take your politics elsewhere.
Let Puddles cry. Do not deny him his feelings.
I can't believe that TH-cam has kept this treasure hidden away from me for so long.
Awesome, thank you!
Beau-ti-ful! ❤
Yes!!! Great voice Puddles!!!!
My favorite song by Roy. Absolutely incredible. Thank you so much for posting all these videos. I am a baritone singer and I'm quite self conscious about it, but seeing it done so well gives me the motivation to keep working. Keep on rocking Puddles.

Back in much more beautiful days. What a great "guess what happened today?" story!
My brother and I are seeing you in Cincinnati on the first! We are super pumped!
I am hooked on Puddles Pity Party. I think you are SO TALENTED, with a beautiful voice that I absolutely love. As a musician, born in the 50's, I can tell you that the music you sing absolutely speaks to me. Keep it up.
probably my favorite song..of all the songs I like...............nicely done
Maybe, this is the hundredth time looking/listening to this version ... how much feeling ... excellent!
you make gold again.. thanks PPP.. you rock!
Love Roy Orinson. Love Puddles. Puddles singing my favorite Roy Orbinson song is absolutely breath taking.
wonderful voice as always !!
One of the only acts today that I enjoy. I like everything about this guy especially when he drags up unsuspecting folks and makes them sing. I don't know... He just brings a boatload of happiness when he performs. I wish I could go see him live.
Damn it Puddles, I've got to work tomorrow! But just one more...
Where have you been all our lives?? Like your friend said, you are a national treasure. You’re amazing.
Wow!!! Beautiful!!
I'm so addicted to Puddles. Such a beautiful voice.
BEAUTIFUL PUDDLE YOU HAVE THE GOLDEN VOICE !!!
Puddles you are amazing. Your voice is just so beautiful. Please keep your show going, the world needs you. You teach us how to show empathy without speaking a word.
You have such an amazing voice.
Absolutely Beautiful I think Mr Roy Orbison would be proud I have heard many singers cover this song But Puddles you nailed it Thank you
Roy has a special sound. Puddles doesn't hit it, but that's OK. Puddles hits the spirit and does the song justice.
Keep it up buddy.
I don't know how I missed this one before! A great rendition! Brings back memories of listening the on the radio in the car when I was a kid.
takes alot of clown balls to cover Roy Orbison. Kudos
and a lot of talent to pull it off... :)
Han Fastolfe good thing he has 5
Han Fastolfe Or Linda Ronstadt
Absolutely agree but he nailed it.
Roy Orbison was awesome and sadly missed with huge admiration! Appreciate your Incredible rendition!
I’d like to hear you sing “ I’m not alone any more” by the traveling wilburys”. That my fav Roy Orbison song. Thanks, you have a terrific voice.
Absolutely wonderful, Puddles.
Interesting Puddles, I think you’re terrific !! Wow! Fantastic vocal! A very difficult song and you nailed it!
7 thumbs down?? What idiots thumb this down???
So good, Mr. Party! Love you!
Who knows why people do it. But you must decide for youself what is good before looking at how "popular" is it!
They obviously don't know talent when they hear it
they need a bigger monitor. Maybe something really big. Bigger than 27"?
Puddles is my obsession. The velvet voice and gorgeous.
Wow! Amazing as usual Puddles!
Want to see Puddles live so bad!! Every time, every time, I here him I get the feels!!
Mind-blowing performance, as always. Huge fan here! :) Honestly had to minimize the video, due to motion-sickness (but I kept listening!)... I had the same issue on the "Heaven" video. Just wanted to let you know. Please keep making more videos! :)
Thank you Dale. We got a little excited with the swirly cam. We'll tone it down in the next time.
Can't wait to see what you do next! :)
Puddles Pity Party Are you Mike Geier from the king-sized?
He is Mike Geier.
Puddles, you've left me crying in love for your awesome musical genius. You are God's gift to this old lady....rock on P3
Puddles hand movements are an integral part of his performances. I missed not seeing them. Otherwise, it was golden!
Awesome!!! Finally going to see you in Cleveland this March.... Can't wait!
Excellent!
You should do "Crying in the rain" by the Everly Brothers.
Nailed it again. One of my all time favorite songs more than done justice.
thank you very much.
You see, have never failed to bring tears to me with the beauty of your voice.Thank you.XO
I'd love to hear you try doing some Iron Maiden.
He does Metallica in a different video
Did you just compare Metallica to Maiden? smdh.
lol really
That's like asking Iron Maiden to cover Sinatra.
So... awesome?
Another brilliant cover. Bravo,Puddles.
Dude! Suspicious Minds...
Roy boy is my favorite tenor till you came along. you did him justice with this song. you are incredible!
I love your covers! You're singing rules queen bee!
One of my favorite songs of all time. So moving. Thank you so much 💘
Hoping he goes far on America's Got Talent!
I've got to say that Crying has always been one of my favorite songs. That said, I'm also very picky about covers. I have to say Puddles, you've done a bang-up job. Thank You!
Could you please stop, my yard is flooding
Dang gummit! I spent a lot of money installing a sprinkler system in my yard, and all I had to do is listen to Puddles. 😢
This Puddles gives me faith for the future of music. Bravo!
Not a novelty or a gimmick. This is brilliant voicing.
Five stars!
subbed :)
I have always been a music in the background kind of guy, I heard it, I recognized it, but the lyrics rarely caught my attention enough against whatever else I was doing to stop what I was doing. This made me stop what I was doing and gave me chills, thanks for what you do!
