- I jumped in with both feet on this 1974 International 100 Travelall with a 392 and 727 tranmission to see if I could bring this beauty back to life after sitting in a field for 20 years.

Glad to see you used a respirator when cleaning out the interior. After what Dalton went through....can't be too careful!
Paint blue and call it puddin lol😊
I drove the same one in high school! Mine looked like new. Don't know what my parents ever did with it. I had a 68 also.
Watching this video and gathering some extra tools and fluids to go attempt to rescue a 1960 Chevy dump truck
Have fun!
You have a teen son, I am sure he knows how to use a shop vac and I'll bet a power washer too. Good job.
@@rickblanchette he’s busy with school right now.
Great video! It is nice to see an old IH Travelall, they have good memories for sure.
@@danielweith1075 glad you enjoy it! It’s a neat old truck
Very nice car
I love all the work you do
Thanks for watching
The window screen was a very cool feature
@@walterrobbins4470 I thought so too
Passion project you say
Passion will drive this one to the finish line… it’s a good runner!
The reason the lights are on when you hook up the battery is because the headlight switch is pulled out to remove the handle. There'a a mechanical button on the switch housing that you push in to release the stalk. You could push a small allen wrench or phillips screwdriver in the hole to turn out the lights.
@@ELNomad55 will look into that.. plus I have a pricey switch coming tomorrow
Another good one Buff , your killing it man!
@@frankfudpucker8395 thank you! Keeping the dream alive for another week
Love it. Do a full resto as cheap as possible doing all the body work as "ghetto fabulous" as possible. I'm talking rust hole repair using expanding foam level.
@@allenthompson4714 just picking up where they left off.
Nice job getting it running my friend. I've always loved the IH truck/ SUV line. That look fairly clean compared to most of them I've seen in the last few years.
Other than the rust a a rat… it’s a great little Time Machine into the past.. a little more work and it would make someone an amazing little rig. Can’t tell you how impressed I am with the 392
@@BuffsGarage 👍
Now Buff what you meant to say was that nobody should buy a Travelall UNLESS it’s that one from you because it’s so good someone else should fix it 😂
Nice show sir Nice lnternatoinal truck 😃👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
@@francoisbouchard602 thank you for watching
And the headlight switch in ours as well as the steering column were Chrysler with the ih stamped gm square ignition key
@@richardbates2367 love it! Maybe I can source the headlight switch through Mopar? No, that’s even more expensive than unobtainium IH parts.
LFG!!
Saying that people shouldn’t buy a travelall is sometimes good advice. But if it was like the 1963 year model that my dad had, it would have been better. The whole back glass issue would have been easier. It had dual doors and even if they didn’t want to open, you could have drilled the door hinges and removed them
Those are cool old rigs! My guess is some old guy had it then stopped driving it (that was all old guy wiring etc) but I assume they started it every few months and took it around the block etc that’s why the brakes were fine and it started so easy. If I was guessing they probably stopped driving it after it got hit in the rear door and maybe the rear door stopped working. I think if you painted it someone would be interested. It gives me national lampoon vacation vibes lol. You should rig up the interior for camping and paint it
@@CruisinWithKevin I feel like you have a plan for this and need it in your collection
I have a soft spot for these old travelalls my late father had one when I was a kid not sure what year but this one looks similar to it
@@TheAmazingDrCheat glad you enjoyed seeing one again. It’s for sale if you really need one.
@@BuffsGarage truly wish I could afford one it's a beautiful vehicle that deserves to be saved

Our 72 ih 1210 3/4 ton manual brake travelall had a true dual 2 1/4 inch dual exhaust with no name dark red glass pack mufflers and 90's behind each rear tire it sounded good even though it was a 2bbl Holley
@@richardbates2367 this has true dual with glasspacks (rust colored now).. but super clean and not rusted through that I can tell.
Never had much issue getting parts for my internationals. Always heard that but normally most parts where instock in the store or I could get the special parts from the aftermarket IH stores online. International has a reputation of being rusty, it’s a shock to find one in good condition these days.
I grew up riding around in a olive green 72 ih 1210 base model travelall ih 304 2bbl Holley carb, manual column shift 3spd transmission and manual brakes and steering sitting on,33x12.50/16.5 American racing white spoke wheels and you wanted to make sure it was rolling to turn those BFG mud terrain tires it also had rear AC and a power back glass, which ironically was about the extent of its options other than the trailering special on a square body truck exterior mirrors I do not believe they were factory on the travelall we had
@@richardbates2367 so this is a fancy one is what you’re saying?
The Chevy 1 ton is the perfect tv.
@@TruckzNTrainz I’m about to put it through its paces
Sell it to puddin fab shop
@@brentcouper1513 he hasn’t returned my messages
There has to be a headlight switch pushed in behind the dash
@@redneckrebuilds5624 I found the base but missing components, found a replacement (wasn’t cheap) arriving tomorrow.
Well you devalued it by cleaning it, just take it back to the dump lol. Just kidding glad to see you save the old holly national.
I know, precious barn dirt or in this case rat crap… trust me, you want it gone
@@BuffsGarage oh don't I know but that precious patina lol just glad you took precautions as you were gone long enough
You should call puddin and see if he would be interested in the ol' girl
@@curt1785 everyone wants to to get ahold of puddin’… lol
I’ve messaged him before and he didn’t respond, but if you all message him for me, he’s close by and I’d be happy to deliver it to him
that I'd like to see this old girl again yeah be interesting to see what you can make of it I mean it's already got air-conditioning with the holes in the roof 😂 but honestly like to see again
@@essexdavenorton thanks for the comment, let’s see if the views support it, I wouldn’t mind getting it all patched up and going on a roadtrip but need to see the views to make it happen!
Kinda curious about what brand of church replaced the old Baptist church. They seem rather uncooperative. That kinda tells a story about a few things.
@@walterrobbins4470 I simply don’t think they were interested in the proposal since it was all about the old church.
👍👍👍
Thanks JB
And you are not the only that O'Reilly gives me wrong parts also
@@JooshuaOgrenn it happens to us all
I hate those scotch lock connectors. They’re only good for emergency situations and they should be removed as soon as possible.
Agreed.. 20 years later isn’t too late
How much are you asking for the truck?
