Dang where was this video like two weeks ago when I installed my MS3 PNP Pro and got my MKturbo setup running for the first time haha. Great video sir. You should show more setup stuff in TS like configuring injector voltage and deadtimes, knock sensor settings, cooling fan outputs, target IGN and AFR tables, etc.. Its hard for noobs to get answers to MS tuning questions on miataturbo.net. Your Megasquirt tuning series has been incredibly helpful thus far. Keep up the great work.
Tunerstudio should say 22 afr as well. Check its not set to an aem style(0v 10afr/5v 20afr) sensor input. The innovates go from 7.3x to 22.x in the 0-5v range. Megasquirt should absolutely reflect that. Also ground wideband same spot as engine ecu to avoid ground potential drift.

You said your wheels are +36mm offset and you run a 20mm spacer. Do you run the 20mm spacer because you couldnt fit a smaller spacer? I dont want to have to roll my fenders as much as you did but i want 15x9s.Just wondering if you had room for a smaller spacer?

Hi Greg hopefully you see this comment. I have a 99 roadster with a 1.8 VVT, I am going for a turbo setup and going to install megasquirt soon and hopefully install the turbo a good few months after once I have the base map running well with auto tune etc. My question is when installing megasquirt in a 1.8 VVT do I have to do anything different because it is not a standard 1.8 and it has VVT, will I have to tune my VVT on tunerstudio or can I just forget about it completely if going forced induction? Will it make any differences in my installation and getting the car running perfect on tunerstudio compared to a standard 1.8? I hope this isnt a stupid question, I am pretty new to all this and your videos are amazing buddy

Ok, I hope you still check your old video comments. We have MS2 in our 1990 Miata champ car. It already has a 1995 1.8 in it and we have had it Dyno tuned. We heard the secret is to get a VVT motor and tune it on 93. Will MS2 run it and does it have the ability to run the VVT or does it lock it out or can we lock it in advanced position? Thanks, Doc
MS2 can't do VVT, and it will be locked in the 0° position (no advance) so you'll get full top end power but no midrange gains. You can either swap to a 90-93 MSPro, or add a VVTuner.
Hi Greg I have the same wideband gauge but it keeps coming up with E9 but Iv checked multiple points in the feed and it has 12v the whole way through but still shows E9 any ideas why this is happening? Or anyone that could help? (live in England so can’t just call innovate up)
Hey Greg! For the options connector, do you read the diagram as the front of the plug (face that connects to MS) or the rear of the plug (where the wires are going into the plug)? Just trying to figure out where to connect what pins for what I need.
I'm 99% sure the diagram is as if you're looking at the plug on the ECU itself, not the connector. If you have MS3/Pro you can figure it out by looking at the bigger boxes in the connector (4 on one side and 6 on the other). Also - the bigger boxes take the bigger pins, there should be 2 sizes included. On MS2 they're all the same size

@@electricrc68 correct - the diagram is a map of the pins on the ECU itself. So in the instructions if the upper left pin read "A", you'd hold the ECU in your hands and look at the port and the upper left pin would be "A"
So I'm getting close to putting in a vvt motor (1.6 to vvt) and I'm a little confused on how to asses the throttle body situation. Im pretty sure I need a 1.8 throttle body right? Do I need a 1.8 throttle position sensor? (Is there a difference?) Trying to do things on the cheaper side but if I have to get a new sensor and throttle body then I will. If I do need to get new parts, which years can I get them off? Thanks!!
The VVT motor will have its own throttle body and TPS, the 1.6 units will not fit. Any 1.8 TB will fit any other 1.8 manifold, but the NB throttle body is nicer since it has an internal ISCV.
TheCarPassionChannel Ah makes more sense, I just can't find very many motors that have a tb on them. Having trouble finding a motor in general lol, thanks for the help!
In my opinion the BEST solution is to install a 94-97 alternator, they are internally regulated. That's how my car is set up, VVT engine with NA8 alternator
HertLife uses one for his FC. I've worked with Haltech a ton and I love it, problem is even their basic ECU's are twice the price of MS here in the states. Also they don't offer many PNP options
Motorsport Electronics Now that the car is fully set up and tuned on MSPro, I'm not really interested in switching it all over. If I do another Miata project I'd love to try it out though.

SkymanAK47 Just run them with no spacer. I only added the spacer because I already had major fender work,so they fit great

Boston Tillery If you do a VVT swap with MS2 you'll have to add something that can control the VVT. MS3/MSPro can do it though

Just as expensive as the AEM standalone ECU's. The whole point of megasquirt is that you can get them for less than 1/2 the price of the $1,000+ ones.
