brilliant, very informative, now i can do my 2016 Triton with confidence, i'm sick of getting ripped off by dealers, the last dealer charged me almost $600 for a normal service, no gearbox, diff, air, or fuel, filter changes, and was returned to me with guard scratches which pissed me off hugely. cheers.
Hey Mate! Great work on the service. Just to add something. Whenever you are doing a oil service on any 4N Mitsubishi Diesel engine, you need to perform the oil dolution reset -> On The MUT dealer tool this function is in...Engine / Special function / initialisation / exchange engine oil service. On other tools it is something similar, depending on the make and model. Reason for this is that diesel gets injected to start and keep the DPF regenerating when it needs to. If it is sucessful, the fuel is burnt with no problems, but if the car is unable to complete its burn, or is trying to burn and there is another reason it cannot, then it will be added to the sump and the oils counter in the cars engine computer will increase. When the car is serviced, the tech must reset this oil counter. And he should know what to look for depending on the reading. or instance if it reads 1500cc, he should know to look for an issue. A car that is doing enough long journeys and has no problems will have a count of 0cc - 100cc. Anything up to 600cc is ok with no action needed.
@@signature8543 In other words - yes. Resetting the oil dolution/exchange counters are part of the standard ""oil service/change" procedure in the official dealers (at least from my experience in Central Europe) If you are doing it yourself it is preferable to reset it with a scan tool which have the functionality to do it. It sounds somewhat stupid, but something little like that can prevent you from spending thousands later. If you are doing a lot of highway miles the counters will not rise as much as doing a city driving. So definetely you need to monitor the values every 5-6 months to know where you are with the oil dolution. This topic definately needs more visibilty because it is solving a lot of problems and in the end of the day it is simple reset.
