      To be honest the tuning box and EGR mod were ok when truck was under warranty….. but once out of warranty your far better off having a stage 1 Re Map and EGR mapped out.
      Yeah I did do some separate videos on the tuning box and EGR mod I think, just go to my videos and search L200 should narrow them down 👍🏼

      @CarAddictGarageNE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your support watching the channel 👍🏼
      I got them off eBay, tried getting the link but with it been a private seller was a one off.
      It’s called Easy Up Tailgate Assist Kit, basically spring loaded hinges and damper..... easy enough to fit, but getting the alignment gaps from tail to rear lights is a bit if a pain.
      Hard to explain not just the gaps, but getting the tail flush with the rear lights and quarter panel, spent ages messing around moving hinges back and forward, and adjusting the catches in and out what the tail latches onto.
      Happy to assist if you decide to buy and fit 👍🏼

    Great video mate... thinking of choping my Shogun in for a pickup, but wasn't sure what to go for yet. But this Video has swayed me towards the L200 now. The shogun is a cracking lump, but running costs are high, especially MPG. Hilux to expensive! Ranger is unreliable & rots !

    Came across your channel today. Excellent! I have a 2018 warrior, bought in 2022, from down your way ironically (I'm in Scotland). I was lucky enough to find a rare VAT free one aswell. Now only 26000 miles. It's due its 6 year service. What's your thoughts on delaying that for a few thousand more miles considering its no where near the expected mileage (72K) at 6 years?

      If you’re referring to the valve clearance nonsense, I personally wouldn’t waste your time or money distributing everything , even ones with 120,000 miles need very minimal adjustment.
      Yes the VAT free ones are hard to come by, personally if your buying private I don’t think you should have to pay it utter con

      It’s a Truckman Adventurer 3, it only looks good as the truck is practically brand new, bar looking alright they are horrendous one thing that irritated me from start to finish with the truck.
      Got a brand new canopy fitted early this year under warranty, and after 3 months and 1000 miles it was showing signs of problems again, cracking door frame, rubbers cracking.

    Morning......
    Fantastic content as always.
    May I ask a question..... When fitting the WATER DEFENCE SYSTEM did you have to REMOVE the plastic bedliner? Mitsubishi are telling me the WHOLE bedliner has to come out. I'm thinking I can just undo the EDGES of the bedliner (at the ends where the water defence system fits) and fit it that way?
    Keep up the great content.
    I'm binge watching the whole of your content, ESPECIALLY the L200 as I treat mine like a pavement princess.

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi thanks very much for your support and watching the channel 👍🏼👍🏼
      First up yes mine gets called the same….. sorry but I’m not taking a 19/20k vehicle down narrow tracks scratching it to death, and doing extreme off roading just for the crack, hence I got a cheap Mercedes ML to do that, it’s my pride and joy and suits me perfect for my family/pet needs.
      I would of had loads of L200 content but only started the channel beginning of the year, and did most the work/jobs last year so have non of it covered.
      As for the water defence kit, what a palaver that was!!
      Got the truck home first night and the whole back flooded, soaked all my carpets and dog cage, so the garage offered to supply the kit for free and knew I had a garage so said you will have no bother fitting them…. Ha ha how the joke was on me should have let them deal with it.
      Yes you have to remove the liner easy with no canopy, but keeping it in place you have to almost bend it in half (marking all the interior of your canopy) to remove, so after hearing that we decided to fit them with everything still in place, had to carefully cut out enough of the liner to fit them in, took ages as I was worried I made a mess of it, I’m a mechanic not a body work guy lol.
      Instructions were rubbish, called the helpline on the instructions and they were of some help to a degree.
      Since fitted no more leaks 👍🏼

      Sounds a bit complicated for me, so will get them to do it for me.
      Yes, your very much like me, I've ad mine since brand new in 2015 & its still only got 8,883 miles on it. Its 6 yrs old this September. Its only ever been out in the rain ONCE in its life 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 bit sad I know to admit it.
      But like ya self, I absolutely love it.
      The chassis is as clean as a whistle, and the seam sealer on the underside of the body, is still WHITE that's how clean it is.

      Sorry I forgot to say, I paid VAT on mine, bringing the total to over £29k & I paid cash. But I absolutely love it. Only thing is main dealers won’t care less and might occur damage, so if your like me particular about your vehicle better do it your self, as they will just let the apprentice loose with the saw lol
      I’m exactly the same, have my 406 and other cars for the places I don’t want the L200 going lol, but they ain’t cheap why abuse them.
      First thing I did when I got mine home in august (was basically a brand new truck) was spend all weekend clear waxoyl the underbody and cavity waxing all the inner chassis, sills, box sections, inside the doors everywhere basically…. But it’s all clear like an invisible barrier, hate all the black tar stuff people use.
      Mine just clicked 10,000 but had to use it a lot these last few weeks.
      People call me sad, but I just use my head, why take a 19/20k truck to Asda when I can take my 406 lol.
      We very much think alike 👍🏼

      Yeah mine was an odd one, was an office worker (a lady) who had is as company car but been commercial they skip the vat on there pay was only used March 19’ to December 19 stood in storage till August 20 when I ordered it…. Since it was a direct Mitsubishi vehicle VAT had been paid.
      Absolutely refuse to pay it for personal use, one big con.
      Was 100% a new vehicle, been up and down the motorway soon as it hit 6000 miles it went back, rear seats, load area still had plastic on it lol.

    I was told by a mate that the ecu nowadays logs the difference and they can tell if you have tampered with it. What you think?

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that’s if you re map them, or if you do something daft like take them in for engine warranty work with the boxes still attached.
      They leave absolutely no log on the ECU because all they do is adapt live reading, there is nothing to be logged on the ECU.

      Sorry don’t understand?
      Road tax/ vehicle tax what you pay to use the road in the UK, based on vehicle class and or emissions

    Great video and very well done . Iv just bought the 19 plate barbarian Black edition which is an awsome motor . But mine does not have this chicken wire behind it’s grill of the horrible cheap door handle inserts or light surrounds that was mentioned .

      No the Black Edition did not have all that cheap tat, I just thought it really spoils the look of them IMO but each to their own.
      You have the best of the lot late Series 5 are the ones to have, early S5 not brilliant and the S6 are poor at best.
      Thanks for watching 👍🏼
