    My son has suffered from asthma and eczema for years. A year ago he started a limited food protocol. Eliminated all gluten, dairy, soy, and night shades. His asthma is virtually non existent as is the eczema. This strateGene is of interest to me. I will share it with him.

    This is great! I think I have finally discovered that my wicked monthly migraines are triggered by a histamine intolerance, which seems to be triggered by my fluctuating hormones. I started taking the histamine block around my cycle, along with increasing my magnesium and so far, no migraine. It's been almost two months. 🤞This is a game changer for me!! about the protein bit, you need to consider where protein comes from. meat protein is high in methionine which makes SAMe, which as you show, is helping clear out histamine. if her methylation cycle is also sluggish that is even more essential.

    nx for such an incredible info, but there are some mistakes under my point of view, when you said that the oxydized fatty acids must be avoided (to avoid the imidazole acetylaldehyde issue) and cook with avocado moil or ghee... for a person who has real histamine intolerance its an impossible thing to do...ghee is animal with bif histamine content due to that, and avocado is an histamine bomb! maybe im losing something? its possible that avocado oil dont have high histamien content? maybe its only in the other parts of the fruit? and ghee? the same? maybe in the fats/oils the hiustamine is nor present? PLEASE help me with that question.
    im strugglin with SEVERE histamine intolerance for years, and were close to go to hospital couple time for deep nutrition problems due to each day more and more restriction in diet to be able to have something called !live" , and you point about GETTING WORSE AFTER TAKE DAO, susrprised me a lot!! its an interesting thing i will try,,,, untill now i thought it worsened /deep react after taking DAO because it comes form pork kidney and then high histamine contente per se, but.. sounds weird isnt? now you gave me a light on it... it sounds very logic, but about that:
    zinc and niacine as cofactor to help ALDH family works fine...but...DAO activity dpends on cupper to works correctly, and cupper is antagonist to zinc and viceversa... so... what to do here?
    and niacin would cut the methylation proccess...which is very confuse to me, since methylation is a big key to histamine issues (hnmt and phase 2 detox in liver)...so..what to do here?
    sorry for that big text... i would love to get your help @DR Ben Lynch

    What does it mean when the HRH4 is complicated on the stratagene report. Also slow DAO. Thanks

    • @DrBenLynch
      @DrBenLynch  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A 'complicated' gene means that the SNPs effects are multifactorial. Read each section for each SNP to learn how the SNP impacts the gene's function. A 'slow' DAO gene means that it is not functioning at full speed thereby increasing susceptiblity to histamine intolerance.

    Terribly interesting! I definitely need to upgrade my StrateGene from the original version (which has been helpful in its own right)!
    I have seen elsewhere that B6 is required for DAO to function. Is that not true, or is that yet to be validated by StrateGene?
    Separately, I have discovered too MUCH B6 can actually cause deficiency. This may be a BIG factor for some as what matters is how much "active" P5P is available versus how much Pyridoxine (anti-B6) is floating around.
    Also, aspirin is noted in slowing down ALDH. People with salicylate processing issues (separate pathways of UGT, etc.) can easily accumulate plant-based salicylates and dirty that gene. This also correlates to B6 status as recycling Glycine is essential in glycinating salicylates.

    • @DrBenLynch

      great point on the salicylates. will need to look into that - thank you! I've noticed PROFOUND improvement supplementing with calcium-D-glucarate for my glucoronidation pathway. For B6 as a cofactor for DAO - it's not stated as a cofactor on genecards.org but I've seen that elsewhere as well.

      I've wondered if my Calcium D-Glucarate helped in salicylate clearing in my past. I used to take it for some time at night to aid with Estrogen clearance. I do believe I have an issue in clearing salicylates. I haven't done so in over a year, but a few glasses of red wine (or Beer/IPAs), and my breath rate goes up 1-2 breaths/min + HR goes up at least 10 points, and HRV plummets. Since then, similarly with too much broccoli/cauliflower or nuts like pistachios.
      Might have to look into it again!

    Ben, I love ya but please don't go in front of z camera looking like you live in a hobo jungle. Your appearance belys your importance.
