    I really enjoy your content! THANK YOU! I have learned so much from you. I have made a couple of full side medal groups for friends, but it’s always good to know that I’ve got it right! Please keep producing your films, they are great!

    My wife was Tayloress at RAF Newton, part of her job was making up medle bars for new issue uniforms. The suppliers would put the appropriate piece of ribbon in a breast pocket, she would then make up the bar in correct order, referring to the official issue chart . One day she could not find the position of 3 ribbons and asked "he can't have that and certainly not that" they were Boer war medals from 1890, The owner was charged with wearing inappropriate medals. Later at Cranwell she mainly worked from home, one day a uniform was hanging on the work room door "Who's is that ?" Comontants. I'll take it back. In his office "Excuse me sir these are your medals ? The DFC is upside down; " Oh shit it has always been that way"
    I also worked with a Flight Sergeant technician who had escaped Czechoslovakia in 1939 and joined the RAF became a Squadron leader Pilot. On parade he had Pilots wings the DFC and bar and DFM he hated it because on any parade the reviewing officer would stop and talk to him.

    Thank you for this video, it's actually very helpful. Although, I'm still confused about some of my grandfather's medals. He had 3, the Defence Medal, the 1939-45 War Medal (while he was serving with the Royal Navy in WWII) and a 1958 Cyprus General Service Medal (while he was serving as a corporal of the Colonial Cyprus Police Force). I know that the Defence Medal comes before the War Medal, but I don't know if the General Service Medal must be after the War Medal or before the Defence Medal.

    If someone was awarded 2 of the same Gallantry medal from different monarchs would they where two different medals? As with some the monarch’s cypher is part of the design, such as the military cross.
    For example would they wear a EIIR MC and a CIIIR MC (and which would be ‘more senior’) or would they wear a clasp with the newer monarchs cypher (ie EIIR MC with CIIIR clasp) like how they would if they’d received two MCs from the same monarch

    Not a problem for me only having the one, a long service and good conduct medal for 15 years of under detected crime during my 22 years in the Royal Navy 😂

    Is it correct that an officer will salute a private , nco , snco etc who is a recipient of the Victoria Cross (Josh Leaky VC LCpl for example)

    Still struggling on understanding of my order of medals, I have 3 of my grandfathers and 1 of my own, in what order on my right do I wear my grandfather's war medal, defence medal and national service medal? On my left I wear my Queen Elizabeth ii platinum jubilee medal.

    • @windsormedals
      @windsormedals  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Defence medal war medal together in that order national service should not be worn with official medal and worn if wanted on its own junior to the other two

    How about medals awarded for giving money to charity, you know money that they had stashed away anyway. Or for singing songs ,

    Hi, I’m about to receive my Fire Service LSGC, but already have the regular army LSGC, which one goes at the end? I assumed it was the fire service as this would have been received last, would I be correct in my assumption? Thanks in advance for your reply.
