Not seen this clip before. Lovely to see behind the scenes of the service and the medal stocks. I have always been fascinated by the awards and investitures system.
Worked in a supermarket for 5 years. Only 3 out of 22 managers spoke to me. When I left, I commented to a colleague that I have had longer conversations with the Queen than with most of management. When did you meet the Queen.? they asked.. If only you had spoken to me , you would have found out all sorts of things about me! Now, good bye. Never went to that supermarket again.
Thanks Rupert for posting this on the very day that my wife received her MBE from Her Majesty, The Queen. Thanks go to all the staff at Buckingham Palace who are the most helpful and professional people I have ever met in any "walk of life". The funniest moment of the day, for me, was when I was asked to take a family photograph of the Beckwith family by Tamara herself! I did not have a clue who she was!!! Graeme.
I think this is amazing. It's a great way to honor those that have done extraordinary things or for their service to Country. I thought that was so sweet the man with the sheep that had tears in his eyes while he was speaking to the Queen and after when he was speaking to the cameraman. Shows you that the people still value the Monarchy and love their Queen.

John 5:44 41I receive not honour from men. 42But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? 45Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
The Honours system is a great way to say "thank you" to many deserving women and men. Orders, decorations and medals are not just for members of the Armed Forces, though they are rightly also deserving of recognition for their service. I believe that it is important for citizens of Commonwealth Realms to understand their country's honours system so that, when one knows of a person deserving of recognition, that one may forward the nomination.
Thanks for this informative and enjoyable video. Her Canadian Majesty in top form, as always! LONG LIVE THE QUEEN. And Long Live Canada, free from further americanisation!
In her later years, Queen Victoria had difficulty handling the large and heavy sword to invest the Knights so a replica was made in Aluminum which was identical to a real sword but much lighter...
Hi Graeme - Your welcome. You could tell by the emotion in the gentleman's voice at the end, that it meant a very lot to him to get his MBE, as I'm sure it did to your wife.
I think is so good that our Queen is not just the Queen but she runs the country to a point and most of the Uk stands for our Qween long live the Queen

I did, for 30 years. Jobs in the Royal Household are advertised on the Royal website. Good luck. It's a nice place to work and there is a lot to learn.
10:06 AM 1/15/2021 I know its like how do you get recognized by the Queen or knighted? I would love to meet the Queen of England too in person drinking tea. Its the conversation we would be having in person that would probably bother everyone. Sometimes I wonder if Im good enough to be a knight (high ranking officer like advisor?) in Govt. Small world yeah?

you realy do show your ignorance, at her age she has to talk and debate national policy and other matters of state, the amount of work she does cannot be put in a comment box of 500 characters and she is not a parasite if you knew anything you would know that she actualy cost this nation nothing
You're quite entitled to your point of view but why you have to express it in such an offensive way is a puzzle. Your comments reveal far more of the kind of person you are than ever they say about the Queen.
Funny, I thought that voting was democratic. Boccherini64 - I and many others are laughing at you and your comments it seems. If you have come in here to change our views then take it from me that it is not working. Why not grab a soapbox and have an afternoon in Hyde Park and you can spout off all day and be ridiculed "live". Have a right Royal day, Graeme.
What are the benefits of having a republic in the UK now? The Monarchy is merely a figurehead (a very important role though) and has little to no political influence. They do not cost the public much. Why bother fixing what ain't broke?
@@MrAviron They contribute more to the economy then they get and they are a valuable tool diplomatically speaking. www.thisisinsider.com/princess-charlotte-worth-to-british-economy-2018-5
The orders and decoration shown are stored in a palace ... in the storeroom for these honours. The dignity of an honours system is with the people being decorated, not in the yearly storage of the insignias.
And what is that role? Wave her hand and speak like if she were God Almighty? She does nothing, nor does her husband or the whole family. This is 2008 not the 1700s. No country in the world needs an idiot who stays in the power forever and worst of all, passes it on to his family. She may be in her 80s now but all her life she's worn awful dresses. Those hats and gloves, what a stinker. So, no, not everyone loves this woman. No wonder she doesn't retire. Retire from what??
Not critical enough. 2 papers aren't biased, namely the Guardian and Independent. When there is anything on the radio and tv about the royals do you hear the republican view? nit good in a democracy.
Oh I'm arrogant, that's rich!! You have the arrogance to assume that I don't have the right to my views. Power statement is rubbish, i think you need to go and read about the royal prerogative, gives the prime minister of the day the right to send troops to war without consulting parliament, not even the US president has such a power. Hitler argument is childish, are you saying the US or france have problems? The US is much more democratic than we are.

I have no problem with someone being honoured, i however have a problem with the honours system in general, particularly an unelected head of state handing out the said honours and the fact that many of the honours are handed out by the government to their cronies and lackeys!
She has such a comforting smile.
She does, and unlike so called celebrities, it's genuine, as is her interest in the people who attend.
