@GeekShhh I bought it to day for my plex server (amd plataform); previusly y had a rtx 3070 but for some reaseon I could not make plex and casaos hardware transcode; just installed the A310 and worked like a charm, exactly the way you concluded in your video, 5 streams 4k to 720 P; in the sixth the problems beggun but with five it is fine with me; thans again.
Been waiting to see a LP Intel card for transcoding but also gaming since launch. Perfect way to re-purpose those left-over slim business PCs that still have a PCI-E slot. Either as a server and/or a gamin PC for kids who don't need high-end graphics. Respect to Bruce Willis here too man, nice of you to give him a shout-out.
Cheers mate, I just picked up the same card to replace my Quadro P400 that's been the Plex transcoding workhorse for the last few years. Great little card, can't wait to compare power usage. My only holdup is that Plex is a Docker container on unRAID and I need to commit to running the unRAID 7 beta as that's the first one with Intel ARC support in the kernel.
This was EXACTLY what I needed to see. I just built a Plex server, with an i3 12100, and its transcoding is not the best I've ever seen. Was thinking of adding an a310, so I'm going to enjoy this video! Unfortunately, it looks like the Plex server does not use Intel Deep Link technology, which allows and Intel iGPU to work together with an Intel Arc GPU when transcoding.
i3-12100 has the 2nd best igpu that Intel makes which is the UHD 730. This is a very powerful igpu and is even more powerful than the A310. For you to utilize the igpu you have to have the plex pass. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@GeekShhh i do have the plex pass. I but I keep seeing small artifacts in the transcoded video that I know are not in the original files. It may be that I don't have the settings right. I'm very new to plex.
Fantastic! Please do this with RX 6400 and integreated AMD Radeon Chips. I cant find anyone else on YT willing to do these tests. Being able to know which one is best and how well they function are great pieces of info.
The 6400 doesn't have an AMF video engine on die. It's pretty much only a 3d accelerator for laptops which have an APU with video encode/decode on it's own iGPU.

Hey mate, I just got mine running and the transcodes (1080p 20Mbs) are garbage compared to Nvidia (Quadro P400). Really bad colour banding and pixelation in comparison.
