How To Master Your Emotions: A Guide to Emotional Intelligence

  • Welcome to today’s episode of The Mindset Mentor Podcast. Today I’m diving deep into one of the biggest super powers that we as humans have…
In my opinion, it’s what separates us from any other specifies in the universe, and makes us human. I’m talking about your emotional intelligence.
If you don’t know what that is, emotional intelligence is the ability to manage BOTH your own emotions, and understand the emotions of the people around you so that you can better navigate through your entire life.
Trust me on this one, emotional intelligence is not just an “extra” skill set that you can develop for your life… but rather it’s one of the most fundamental skillsets that I believe you should care about mastering in order to thrive and survive through your life. (You’ll see what I mean by the end of this.)
    If you like this episode…
Make sure to share it with someone that needs to hear it and help us get the message out there so that together we can help make people’s lives better and make the world a better place.
    And BY THE WAY:
My first book that I’ve ever written is now available for pre-order. It’s called LEVEL UP and It’s a step-by-step guide to go from where you are now, to where you want to be as fast as possible.
Within its pages, you'll discover powerful insights and practical steps that will revolutionize the way you approach your goals, personal motivation, and mental focus.

This video was very thought out and well structured. As someone who regularly studies assertiveness, emotional awareness, and psychology I was very impressed by this presentation. I am a mom of three and a manager of 11 employees. I listen to Jordan Peterson and Eric Thomas majority of the time. My goal for this year is to focus on the full emotional mastery not just being assertive. It’s truly incredible once you get out of your “jar” and don’t allow everything around you to determine your day you can shape your life and create necessary boundaries to achieve try peace and joy. I would like to listen to more on balancing daily tasks,
      Responsibilities, healing and growth.

I am an empath and it is difficult for me to regulate my emotions. I cry at the drop of a dime when I feel anything hurtful. I also have depression and anxiety that was diagnosed over 20 years ago. This episode was extremely helpful. Fortunately, I do have dear friend that is brutally honest with me. She is helping me find peace, detach from toxicity, and find the best version of myself.

I just listened 4x while I was walking my dog. This resonates, part of it for me is growing up ADHD and childhood trauma. This is life, and we work on ourselves everyday. At 57 I'm still discovering my authentic self and loving it. ❤

I love this episode. I paused this weekend when a frend was freaking out because I didn’t want to feed into what she was feeling (as an empath). I just stood there listened to her without reaction. When she was done, I just said “Breathe”. She did this several times over the course of several days and when she realized I was not reacting and I told her to just breathe. She finally did. Then we did it together. The following day. She was so much calmer.

I have started doing this and it has been life changing in terms of my relationships --especially can be in terms of taking accountability for stuff without trying to share blame or deflect on something we chose to do of our own accord. Gets annoying when people say nobody can control them and they do what they want to do and if you talk about how that affects things, then they do something and say it was your fault or they gaslight you. Self awareness is everything and it seems tricky to do sometimes initially but then becomes rewarding when people tell you out of the blue about it in your interactions with them. It is a PAINFUL as heck process sometimes too. Shame and guilt but that has to be overcome with compassion I've found in my experience too. Awesome video!!! ❤🎉

I have always been *hypersensitive*. I had a very traumatic upbringing and life, with intense shaming, physical and verbal abuse, emotional abuse. Addiction, DV, r"pe, genetic illness, mental illness. Homelessness. Moving every 1-2 years from 11-37 years old. Stability was never even an option due to life circumstances and resulting arrested development. *Somewhere* along the way, my emotional intelligence was stunted around 8-10 years old. I'm not sure if its my narcisstic mother who left for good , abusive father or abusive sibling or all three.
I am now trying to relearn and reparent myself.
Astrology helped me so much, understand our archetype & even understand your life's purpose and soul mate as well as past life attributes.

Try to start visualizing your day and doing meditation. B4 a soccer game i would visualize the game which included maybe getting ready putting on my uniform eating breakfast take the visualization from the minute you wake up to the minute you walk in the door of your job who are you going to see when you first walk in what are you going to see and visualize that and for the people in the room what are they going to say to you what are you going to say to them and what are they doing what are they eating what are they drinking what papers are they looking at what website are they looking at what numbers are they looking at get that detailed and bring it all the way to the point where you're doing the trading visualize who is standing around you what are you wearing what are they wearing their voices their movements what does the board look like how loud is it I'm not sure how the trading works but in the next visualization I would imagine seeing the top trades on the board and you knowing what they are and getting them you have laser focus when trading time comes and maybe you don't need to hear everybody in the room you just laser focus on the trades using your instincts and knowledge and tell yourself and what you might notice is some of the visualizations came true and maybe some of them were completely different than you visualized but keep working at it because it's not about the people around you and what they're doing so much as it's preparing your mind and body to be laser focused on your words and your actions your body movements and how you feel inside your body that propels you forward

What I know I did not choose is key for me, and the things around me that I did not create. I think journaling is a great way to put things in perspective. I have wisdom enough to combat negative emotions, yet I am frustrated that they still pop up like a loop. like am spiritually lazy that I got to get up and shoot spiritual coyotes trying to get in my hen house. then if I rage alone, I can distrust the affirmation that often calms me down. However, am careful in affirming myself that it's not just me being egotistical, my ego will just give it back for a later date and it's still something that can be triggered. God grant me the peace of mind to accept the things I cannot change, and He does, and the bravery to tackle the things I can change this is one of the best prayers ever, but it's not as convenient as I think it should be.

Animals live on a basis where every decision they make has a future role and how you say they have emotions that tie. They are creating their emotion Based on
Physical things just like we do, and just because you lock an animal in a cage and the animal can't kill itself is because the animal has common sense and humans do not.

Hi 👋🏻 can you please cover about emotions you feel you have been dealing with a con artist narcissist one and of for two years what trauma did I go through that made me accept to be treated that way ?

    • @IzzyNChrist
      @IzzyNChrist 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Emotions people normally deal with when dealing with con artists and Narcs are: depression, sadness, confusion, self doubt and self-shaming to name a few.
You don't necessarily have to have gone through trauma to be abused by a Narc. They will use any vulnerability you have against you no matter how small. It's worse if you've had a hard childhood because it's only more obvious to them that you're in pain and they will leverage that. If you have childhood trauma ask yourself what happened, how did it make you feel and what was your response? In what ways do you use those same responses now?

I don't have credentials, but I don't believe a baby knows how to self-soothe. They suck their thumbs as an instinct, not to make themselves feel better. People do that once they understand how to self soothe and revert back to when they were a baby, really. And when rabies cry, it's not to self-soothe, it's a survival instinct. They don't think that far ahead. A caregiver consoling them is teaching them to eventually be able to self soothe, but it's not a capability they inherently possess. I only say this cuz I don't want to perpetuate the idea that it's a good thing to let a baby "cry it out", cuz that's the worst thing you could do to a baby's mental health. That's how you raise psychopaths. Ok, hopping off the soapbox, thanks for listening. Cheers.
