Hello Wayne 'It's Mardle' Mardell, could you please do a video on equipment selection, primarily dart weights? Theres a lot of conflicting information in regards to people thinking you need a heavier dart if you drop low, others say a lighter one - not to mention stems and flight choices. It would be very helpful. Thanks very much
As a darts superfan this is the kind of channel I have been waiting years for ,so easy to follow and no wonder Wayne was one of the best in the business talks darts very well brilliant stuff Wayne more please …..
i asked on waynes twitter a while back about a video on tip on finding your throw and he replied and said he really liked the idea for a video, would love to see it happen.
Mab I think after grip you need to look at the actual throw ie do you aim,do you throw at the previous dart etc but more importantly the follow through!!
I loved this video and Wayne is brilliant the way he explains it so well…I never thought about this until I watched the video!! Loving all the videos they have been brilliant, keep up the great work..I can’t spake!!😁😁🎯🎯
I wish darts was popular-enough here, that we had a place to go and get "fitted" for darts and have my throw analyzed. It would be interesting to learn the things that there's no local "training" for.
Great topic and video Wayne. I'm doing my best to do that 'light grip' (hold like a feather I heard it termed once) and it is helping. I guess one thing I'd like to have discussed is the transition of the dart from one hand to another. I just cannot do what you or the amazing to watch, Michael Smith can do - the smooth, seamless tranistion from one to another. I have to just gently postion the dart into my throwing hand - it feels ok but awkward at the same time.
Any tips on bringing the dart back? I line up the dart with my target and right eye but sometimes catch my cheek with the flight? I’ve tried coming to the side slightly towards my ear but then my aim is wayward
Absolutely love these videos. Still confused as to where the shaft rests on thumb. Is the shaft on the side of the thumb or resting directly on the tip/fatty part of the thumb tip. I’ve tried both. Not sure what is best for me as each have benefits and flaws.
Fantastic video Mab. I’ve tried extremely hard to keep the grip light. Plus trying to keep the dart in the same position on the pull back is so important for me anyway. I’ve had some small changes in my grip since February and it feels comfortable but still not fully correct. It will come, just hope I get before I’m a pensioner 🤣👍🏻🎯
Love the content ! Any tips for helping to cope with dartitis ? Been suffering with it for well over 10 years now. Been somewhat ok the last year or two, but feeling it start to creep back in.
Sorry if this has been covered before but I think the release itself would be great for a video. It's the part I'm struggling with the most in terms of getting better. When you say you have to begin opening your hand at just the right time, does that mean all your fingers need to leave the dart before your hand goes past the elbow... or is it just a case of that's where the release needs to begin? When you say "propel" the dart, does that mean your fingers get involved in pushing the dart and if so how does that not lead to many darts going astray into the 5 or 1 bed? I have a throw that feels nice/comfortable and I know I'm not breaking any fundamentals but my starts still go astray and land at different angles sometimes, it can only be my grip or the release part that's the issue
Another great video but too add to this subject how would I find my best type of dart and setup to complement my grip and throw. I do not have anywhere local to try different shapes and sizes?
Great tips as always, Wayne, thanks! I know this could fall into to almost any of the masterclasses you've done, but do you have any tips about keeping the darts straight? I struggle with 5's and 1's alot. Thanks
Stance for me, I'm tall and like to lean forward particularly in matches but often throw a low dart which I'm sure is the lean. Need a routine/drill to stand comfortably and not drift too far forward
Great videos Wayne really enjoy them, I have played for years, but aim my darts using the point, it's been successful but watching most players apart from James Wade appear not to aim! What am I doing wrong?
When you say a light gripper, a description of the amount of pressure you presume that to be might be handy, my own thoughts are grip the dart only tight enough to ensure it doesn’t move during the throw,
I'd like to see a video on retrieving the dart from the none throwing hand into the set position of the throwing hand because I struggle with getting my 2nd dart hand position to be in the same as the 1st dart because I am moving it from another hand
Not tight enough can also be a problem ... perfect follow through but the dart won't have it and stays in position resulting in landing before your feet or a few feet below the dartboard in the wall ... changing/tightening the grip or slightly rotating the wrist solved the problem for me.
wayne, how about a video on how to get from 60-65 average to 75-80? obviously its not overnight but what are some techniques that we should be focusing on/things to practice..other than "just doubles and outs". how do we hit that breakthrough?
I struggle on how to create the release of the dart. I find it naturally comes out of the hand so if there was a video on how to release the dart early it would help my throw.
Really should have a white marker pen for those signatures on the wall. Doesn't surprised me William Hill choose a silver blue pen for a silver blue background.
Could be a combination of issues. Try to video yourself throwing with the camera facing you. Check your throwing arm is firstly straight, secondly check if your elbow moves at any point (up/down/left/right) after your draw-back. If that is all sound it could be grip/release related.
And exactly therefore, because of the unnecessarily strained muscels, if you hold and handle your dart in a for you not fitting way, you must also talk about the needless fashion of making the dart heavier than it is useful. If you use darts, which are as light as possible for you, you also strain your muscels the less.
My average is around 60 but struggling to get it any higher any tips on how to increase averages incrementally with practice accepting everyone will reach a max limit for their sbilities
I grip it by the point. The tip of the point sits in the middle of middle finger (🖕) It stems from being on site (I'm a joiner) and flicking nails at a polystyrene target at lunch. Works for me. Have a go at it. Enjoying club 501 🎯👍🏼
💪 muscle's 🤔 ? Seen more meat on a butcher's pencil ✏️ 🤣😂 Lol. All very true , more stuff in your grip.....the more that can go wrong . Most people went to "some kind" of school.....grip the darts the same way you grip a pen/pencil...... Now unless you lived in the Stoneage and grip the same as you gripped your spear(🫣😩)..you should be fine. Not too many finger's...Thumb , index , middle= just the job 👍👍. Cheer's Wayne 🏴🎯🎯👍👍😁
Are you enjoying the Mardle's Masterclass series? What topics would you like to see Wayne cover in future?
Practice games when on your own.
Wayne never ask again that question is pointless we all love it any advice is good advice you know that ❤
Drills to help release / timing of release !
I hold my darts in a loose grip and they are 18g....perfect example is Gerwyn Price he has a light grip and throw.....The Riddler☘️🎯

Awesome Wayne !!! I've commented there should be more of this !!! And footwork and stance love this program so much
Appreciate the dominant eye aiming pls.
And this is why Wayne is one of the best coaches in the world right now
Oh hell yeah i love Club 501!!!! Wayne you‘re such a nice guy. could listen to you for hours!

Absolutely great tips Wayne...Love the show fairplay 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎯🎯🎯

Hey Wayne any advice of the draw back if you can cheers

Hi mate, I had that same problem and it went away when I switched from medium stems to short ones
Love Wayne
Great, great series. Could you do about 6 more Masterclass videos on the follow through? Mine sucks sooo bad, one wasn’t enough. 🤣
Absolutely love these videos. Still confused as to where the shaft rests on thumb. Is the shaft on the side of the thumb or resting directly on the tip/fatty part of the thumb tip.
I’ve tried both. Not sure what is best for me as each have benefits and flaws.
Hi Wayne, could you cover the mental game? Self doubt is killing my averages!
i do love it mr. mardle
Great show, Wayne - would you be able to talk about mental preparation before a match to the first nine darts we throw before game on
Fantastic video Mab.
Wayne, have you tried aiming in a stable manner (i.e. without swinging your hand back-and-forth before throw) ?
Love the content ! Any tips for helping to cope with dartitis ? Been suffering with it for well over 10 years now. Been somewhat ok the last year or two, but feeling it start to creep back in.

Keep your eyes on the channel, Ben!
@@Club501WithWayneMardle I have been and will do! Been really enjoying the content so far, thanks!
Yes, we love it Wayne!
If anyone was wondering why Mardle is THE go-to pundit despite not having the career of Taylor, Barny etc. this video demonstrates exactly why
Very kind of you. 😊
Stance for me, I'm tall and like to lean forward particularly in matches but often throw a low dart which I'm sure is the lean. Need a routine/drill to stand comfortably and not drift too far forward

Hello Wayne from Northern California!! Great tip!! How about something on stance and eliminating vertical movement? 🤔🤔🤔
When you say a light gripper, a description of the amount of pressure you presume that to be might be handy, my own thoughts are grip the dart only tight enough to ensure it doesn’t move during the throw,
So does it mean the wrist should be completely stable and in one position from set up to draw back?
I'd like to see a video on retrieving the dart from the none throwing hand into the set position of the throwing hand because I struggle with getting my 2nd dart hand position to be in the same as the 1st dart because I am moving it from another hand
I would like a video on release and alignment
Not tight enough can also be a problem ... perfect follow through but the dart won't have it and stays in position resulting in landing before your feet or a few feet below the dartboard in the wall ... changing/tightening the grip or slightly rotating the wrist solved the problem for me.
I often think about how you grab the dart out of the serving hand can set up or effect your grip aswell
wayne, how about a video on how to get from 60-65 average to 75-80? obviously its not overnight but what are some techniques that we should be focusing on/things to practice..other than "just doubles and outs". how do we hit that breakthrough?
What type of darts should rear grippers choose? Ones that are rear weighted or front weighted?
Are the Club501 water bottles for sale
How to hit Trebles and Doubles Wayne please.
Practice simple
I struggle on how to create the release of the dart. I find it naturally comes out of the hand so if there was a video on how to release the dart early it would help my throw.
Things to fix my constant triple.5 hits. I cannot stop hitting them!
Grip is what I struggle with the most. I'm getting there but I always have periods in a game where I can't seem to grip it right.
Maybe try out a scallop dart like!
@jakutz I'll look into it, thanks. The funny thing is I'm still playing the best darts I've ever played and I'm 43 now!
Really should have a white marker pen for those signatures on the wall. Doesn't surprised me William Hill choose a silver blue pen for a silver blue background.
Hi wayne my darts always seem to go in at loads of different angles, any advice on how to fix this would be appreciated cheers
I second this! My aim’s pretty good but I hit the board at all sorts of crazy angles.
@FarWestHammer same except my aim's pretty shit as well 😂
Could be a combination of issues.

Wayne please do something on dartitus, I no longer can play I was a 80 average & now I’m a 20. No1 highlights this horrible condition
My average is around 60 but struggling to get it any higher any tips on how to increase averages incrementally with practice accepting everyone will reach a max limit for their sbilities
Question ... what do you aim at ? do you look down the dart or look dead at the t20 ?
I've found myself I'm looking just above the t20 and it's pretty successful at the min almost hitting a t20 almost every 3
I grip it by the point. The tip of the point sits in the middle of middle finger (🖕) It stems from being on site (I'm a joiner) and flicking nails at a polystyrene target at lunch. Works for me. Have a go at it.

How to battle dartitis
Superb as always Wayne. Any tips on not shitting myself? Cheers.
Im a spinner, cant help it
Long barrels against short barrels straight against front bulbous
💪 muscle's 🤔 ?

Wayne Mardle was a very good player there were just a couple of other players better. Anyway you do not have to be a good player to be a good coach.
Copying Steven hendry with a youtube channel, right job. Hope you make good money
Ah that’s why my darts won’t leave my hand, it’s because I wasn’t opening my hand, 😂
