John was so soft spoken and thoughtful in his response to questions during interviews.Funny how after years of being told by Roger that his bass was too loud,and mentioning that again,he has to tell his band mate to turn it down and tries so hard to look angry.
Got to see them with the 5 piece line up including Zak Starkey on drums. Legendary bass sound just like the great Chris Squire. So glad I got to be there live and feel those amazing sounds.

@jeffreyhinkel3490 Yes I saw an interview with Pete & Roger not too long ago and they both said the last 2 or 3 tours with John he was practically deaf but he could still do his masterful bass playing by simply watching Roger’s body language also watching Pete’s fingers on the guitar to stay in sync with the rest of the band!…( John was a beast and a legend on the bass guitar )

There is claim that Pete did all the composing and mixing. But watching him 'live' and "live" on video it looks more like he (John) was doing his own thing (separate melodies that matched-up note for note all the way through). Extraordinary! Not anyone like him in rock excepting perhaps McCartney.

Him and Berry Oakley were the best. Berry died at 23 in a motorcycle accident, not snorting cocaine with a known heart condition. What a waste. I had tickets to see the Who at Verizon Ampitheater in Irvine, California but Entwistle died two days earlier. They rescheduled but I opted for the refund cuz 70% of the reason I got tix was to see him. Only time I saw the Who live was when they did the Quadraphenia Tour in 1996 and that concert was included in the Tommy? Quadraphenia DVD.

He was actually with someone who cared for him and who he also cared for. They had known each other for years, so all is not what it seems.
It wasn't a lethal snort; John had an undiagnosed heart condition. And yes, the woman who spent the night cared for him, deeply.
