I love that you did this together and showed the process! It was authentic and shows how difficult this could be but y'all did great!

Thank you for the encouragement! We always try to be authentic, even when it’s difficult 😬

Awsome viedo, thank you. We just purchased a heifer and her calf. The heifer was dehorned by previous owner, but they mutilated her. Just a bad job. They did not dehorn calf. The calf is now 6 months old. Her horns are about 1 1/2 inches. Would it be better to band now, or wait until they are longer? Trying to keep irritation and pain to a minimum. I do not want to cut or saw later on, thats just mean..lol...

You guys are horrible, why would you do that ?? There is a reason they have horns. I hope someone also puts a tight rubber band around your hands so that the blood supply stops. How would that feel?? if you would have used some kind of ointment they would not even grow that long. This is wrong . This is why I hate humans, we think we have the right to torture an animal

We just recently bought her, with horns. We did not think it would be an issue however she liked to use them. She had already brought blood on me once and could do sooo much more damage given the chance. She’s not a friendly cow. So either at this point she learned to be friendly and be milked or she goes to the meat market. Animals have a purpose. In our minds this was the best possible way to dehorn her at this age! Most farmers go out with a saw and saw them off! This exposes their sinus cavity and blood will squirt out until they cauterize it. They can actually bleed out this way! So this is sooo much safer and a much better option for everyone! 😅🤗

@@highwayhomestead2067 honestly there is nothing you can tell me to understand this behavior, the milk is not made for humans anyways
