For the sake of time and continuity, they need to make some bits connect from the end of dynamite to the beginning of rampage. The Jade spot where she doesn't leave the ring would work SO perfectly for something like this and doesn't actually eat up a ton of time. That, or Claudio swinging someone at the end of dynamite, and still swinging at the start of rampage.
I don't know if there should be a full Brand Split between Dynamite and Rampage, but I had the idea of a "soft" Brand Split. Between Revolution and Double or Nothing 2022 it sort of happened, where Team Taz and what became Swerve in our Glory appeared primarily on Rampage. There may have been the occasional match or segment on Dynamite but those four guys were mostly on Rampage. I say that between each PPV we have a soft Brand Split cycle going, where a certain number of talents are assigned to and appear only on Dynamite and some appear only on Rampage between All Out - Full Gear, then Full Gear - Revolution, Revolution - Double or Nothing and so on. I agree with Jack that the TBS Championship should be on Dynamite because it's the channel it airs on, and the TNT Championship should only be on Rampage because again, it's the pissing channel it airs on. Why at New Year's Smash was the TNT on TBS and the TBS on TNT? It's the most simple thing and TK just loves to ignore it! With this soft Brand Split idea, I wouldn't make the other Championships exclusive to one show. With each cycle you change it up. Revolution - Double or Nothing Dynamite gets the World, Women's and Tag Team Titles, while Rampage gets the Trios spotlighted for a few months. All Out - Full Gear Trios moves to Dynamite and the Tag Team and maybe the Women's comes to Rampage. Although Jack's idea of the Women's Championship moving to Rampage full time is a really good one. And Arn Anderson as an Authority figure? If he goes full feral cat on Cody's front yard again I am ALL for that!
Eddie winning the belt would be a nice feel-good moment, but I don't see him hold it for long and being a long-term title contender afterwards. Either way, if Eddie were to beat MJF, it should be after MJF holds the belt for at least as long as Omega did. During that time, MJF should go on a Ric Flair like reign where he deviously holds onto the belt against all challengers. During his reign, MJF should take on established main-eventers (like he will with Danielson) but also guys who are destined to get the belt eventually (like Keith Lee)
You guys are totally right, they should re-do how they do their post show scrums. I love the idea of a completely kayfabe interview show on a paid network. Maybe use one of your big on-screen personalities as one of the hosts, like Renee Paquette. Maybe get her one of the locker room leaders like Bryan Danielson to be her co-host. No way they'd cancel that show.
I want Eddie to win the title so bad even if he only holds it for a week we gotta get that moment on God if Eddie wins the title I’m running through a brick wall out of pure joy
They had their chance with Eddie, it's long long gone. They had an opportunity to bring in attitude Era fans along with asuals, assays, it won't matter.....gotta strike when the iron is hot, or before Jericho sucks the life out of them
If MJF doesn't drop the title to Danielson eventually, it better be Kingston. It would be THE moment in AEW tbh, especially after a long hellish MJF Reign, it would tick so many boxes and Eddie with the title on the mic? Man it would be TV Gold. Kingston dropping it to a Heel "fickle" Danielson is how I would book it.
Any chance of Retro Pitches? Each pitch can be for a retro event and just write a new story for it. Like one pitch is for an old Rumble with a new winner. I know it borders on other's territory, butttttt I love pitches vids and need more lol please and thanks, keeps kicking ass
I genuinely don't see what people see in Miro. He's alright in the ring he's alright on the mic and that's just kinda it. I'd just make him the aew version of Dolph Ziggler as the guy new people can feud with and overcome. That's all I see in him. (Ziggles to be clear deserved much better than that).
The thing about having a "6 month plan" ...he did that, and then people left/got injured What 2022 shows us is that TKs problem is if he has to change plans on the fly, he's not so good a that
Translation, due to circumstances beyond TK's control TK had to diverge from the desired story line of the fans for the first time and the fans, being completely rational professional wrestling fans obviously, never/have yet to forgive him for it. Edit: On an unrelated note, who do you think TK plans on building to take the title from MJF and why is it Eddie Kingston?
Heres is something that i have realised for a while ago, not just in AEW but also in WWE. After the chase for a Big Title Babyface win, it becomes a booking nightmare to try and keep the babyface over as the top guy before the either the booker loses interest or, and lets be real here, before the fans lose interest for whatever reasons. Examples are Big E's WWE Title Run, Kofi Kingston's WWE Title Run, Seth Rollins face WWE Title Run, Hangman Page (which i believe was one of the best booked babyface world champions) Dean Ambrose WWE Title Rum, Roman Reigns face WWE Title run, Eddie Guerrero's WWE title run, Benoits World Title Run, Jeff Hardy's face TNA world title run. Etc.
4 things i would love to see: 1. Eddie Kingston win the world title. 2. Hook get a bigger push. 3. Have a faction that dominates both ROH and AEW. 4. An angle where ROH collides with AEW and creates a survivor series esque PPV.
I wasn't on board for the brand split until Jack started describing it - I want that to happen so badly, now - such a solid idea having TBS/AEW Men's on Dynamite and TNT/AEW Women's on Rampage - only issue is I don't know if they could extend the time slot for Rampage, so wouldn't have as much time to showcase people - the whole appeal is it's a quick, sharp show.
Happy New Year to you three: Jack, Andrew and Ross. For my 3 pitches for AEW in 2023 are these in no order: Pitch #1 Swerve Strickland wins the feud against Keith Lee at AEW Revolution. While he celebrates with the Mogul Affiliates...AR Fox, The Mack & Matt Cross take them down one-by-one until Fox knocks Swerve with a thrust kick and 450 slash. Pitch #2 Chuck Taylor and Trent? lose their chance in capturing the AEW World Tag Team Championship from The Acclaimed at Double or Nothing, and are beyond frustrated until they turn heel and attack both Orange Cassidy and Danhausen. And thus, Best Friends become DIRL (D*cks In Real Life) in the tag team division. Pitch #3 House of Black vs The ELITE at Fyter Fest in a Street Fighter 6 theme cosplay match for the AEW Trios Tag Team Championship in a fantastic 30-minute time limit, ending in a draw. Then, we see the reformation of The Undisputed Paragon (ERA) with Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong. *SHRUG*
The guy in the middle made the best point about the baby face chasing and then next. The worst part of hangman reign was that it was second fiddle to anything punk was doing. Same with thunder rosa
AEW fanbase: "We don't care about Swerve in our Glory as a team. We just want to see them break up already." AEW creative: "Give it time." AEW fanbase: "NO NOW!" AEW creative: "Okay, fine, we'll rush it then." *rushes it* AEW fanbase: "You rush your story lines too much."
i felt the same about the acclaimed's title win. they could have had a great feud but the acclaimed's win felt rushed because fans complained about no audible being called and so we got another title match out of nowhere and it was very clunky. hate to rag on fans because it's never a majority that are being daft but there are definitely a vocal portion that seem to have no patience
21:59 This MJF pitch is almost exactly what I had fantasy booked in a conversation with friends earlier this year, except my version centered around CM Punk’s heel turn. And if Punk returns then this angle still works. MJF defeats the other three pillars over the course of three PPVs and cuts a promo declaring himself the one and only future of the company, as he has proved himself better than the other young stars. Now he says he will show Tony Khan why he should put all of his chips on him by defeating all of the ex-WWE stars during special tv events and proving that he is a generational talent. This sets up a program working towards MJF vs heel Punk, who epitomizes Khan’s habit of throwing money at his favorite toys instead of building the talent he has. Have Punk play up the “locker room cancer” angle, almost to an NWO degree- Khan wouldn’t let him out of his contract so he is going to destroy the company. This positions MJF as the guy who has to protect AEW because it is the place where his legacy is going to start. MJF would organically transition into a tweener/quasi-babyface while still framing it as selfishly building his personal resume for the Great Bidding War of 2024. MJF gets to be the guy who carries AEW on his shoulders for all of 2023, saves AEW from the negative backstage vibes, and still gets to tease leaving for WWE as the champion at the end. If done well, this is an entire year of storytelling and naturally leads to side stories involving Team AEW vs Team Punk.
If I could book one thing for AEW this year, it'd be to absolutely push Konesuke Takeshita to the moon. Focus him on the ROH zone, push him there and give him a storyline with a couple of promos (Konosuke is funny on Twitter, that could be translated to promos if needed); get the ROH Title off Swiss at some point and put it on another Japanese star (Ishii, maybe? With a Heel-turn somewhere in there) and then have Konosuke challenge from there. Tell that Underdog Baby-Face story; put him through a ringer of matches to get to the belt itself; Finish it at Double or Nothing, then have a Summer of Takeshita.
I actually think the eliminator tournaments make sense with the presentation AEW currently has as more of a wrestling, sports-like product. The tournaments still allow for storylines to take place and infuence outcomes and its way better than the sports entertainment style "I dont like you so I deserve a title shot" segments that are usually how title shots are given.
I mean, they try to present a more sports based broadcast by doing these tourneys and use the rankings system as best as they can with all the injuries . I can't see it being any more lazy than the WWE giving title shots over weak storylines like they've been doing the last two years🤷♂️
-Eddie Kingston beats MJF for the AEW title on the final show of 2023, I’m pretty sure Max is gonna sign again so 2024 just starts with him doing the Bobby Heenan begging angle where he tried to come in and beg for his job back and of course Eddie deserves it. -Mention PWG more and make it cannon somewhat, most of the wrestlers on the roster were making their strides in either PWG or Evolve, Excalibur rarely mentions the promotion, idk why I think it’s his or he’s a co owner, you can take the tape library and put it on honor club, push wrestlers based on their PWG persona (aka push Chuck Taylor) - This should be the year of the younger stars, people are getting behind the Acclaimed & MJF so it’s time to go for more of the day one non wwe wrestlers, make Private Party, Santana (if he stays) & Ortiz, Sammy G, Jack Perry & others prominent so we know what the future looks like because it arrives this year
I like the idea of Ospreay vs Omega at the UK show, I would have it be the semi main event tho, with Omega retaining in a time limit draw. The Main Event should be the Woman's World Title & have Hayter vs Saraya turning heel, Baker can be to blamed as well. I can't see MJF defending in the UK, not yet anyways.
Omega v Ospreay 3 should happen at Forbidden door in a Iron Man Match with Ospreay finally getting the W on Omegas turf cause I think Ospreay needs to beat Omega enroute to a G1 win & WK18 Win over Okada.
My Theory is that creatively behind the scenes Cody helped out/bounced off Tony Khan more than we knew, because the creative shortcomings have become way more prevalent since Cody departed. Almost like he was reigning TK in.
"Would people want to boo Moxley?" I understand this was filmed a while back, but from what I saw this week on AEW TV, people are absolutely ready to boo Mox. His match with Hangman saw him acting extremely vicious, and I am hoping the injury angle they seem to be working with him now has him out for a while before a shocking return as a heel where he runs over the whole damn company.
Should have put the aew title on Kingston when he was red hot last year so now it would just feel underwhelming which is why they'll probably do it lol
Kip is from Yarmouth, not Norwich (Gorleston is the place people from Yarmouth say they are from when they don't want to admit the are from Yarmouth). Kip wouldn't get any Norwich only support.
One biggest statement i say is that TNT allways fail when its booked to have big stories. because big stories need other matches not onvoling the title too make work but the TNT is allways ats best when it is open championship, where anybody can wrestle for it weekly. Every best champ of the TNT, Cody, Miro, Darby and even Joe i argue, has always been better because they are wrestling weekly, with simple stories that dont last longer then a month. i argue that people wants to make every wrestling match "have a story" fails alot because when you want to bring wrestlers from outside, you have to give time too to build stories and sometimes you just watch a wrestle match. Like i think some people forget, the wrestling match itself is a story being told and if your good enough wrestler, you should be able too get it across. actually i think greatest example of aew getting a person purely through wrestling instead of stories, was Takeshita, who just damn good matches and got over, didnt need any real stories or long arc's, people wanted toow atch good matches and got behind him
I really want Ricky Starks to be the one who dethrones MJF and then a few months down the line he drops the title to Ethan Page who goes on a decently long run with the title (preferably without the firm and especially without Hathaway. Ethan is one of the best talkers... He didn't need a mouthpiece.)
@@tnzm6838 if you've watched him in impact you'll know that's not true. He just hasn't been able to prove it yet because he's been given mouthpieces like Dan Lambert and Stokely Hathaway. Once they get him on his own, he'll be one of the best heels or faces in the company.
Tbf tony deffo plans shit out. See the first few champion being know before the company began. He struggles with adapting to injuries and change of plans. He deffo plans stuff out but struggle on the fly
I don’t agree 💯 with a “ brand split “ . I can agree with some talent being ‘ exclusive to Dynamite’ and ‘ exclusive to Rampage ‘., and some that show up on both ‘ brands ‘.
I don't know what they're on about. Kip's maestro/conductor/puppet Master/mad Hatter gimmick that he's doing right now is one of my favourite things in the world of wrestling currently. Absolutely brilliant.
I feel like aew shot themselves in the foot from the beginning when they decided to do the win/loss records and all that cause, although I do like the ideas, it’s always the same people at the top so contenders will never change so they use tournaments to get those lower down in big matches
For sure, the only person I want MJF to lose to is EDDIE KINGSTON. I’m an emotional guy, and I can’t imagine how KINGSTON would react to winning the world title.
It’s sucks that all these videos were done before the 13 of December. It means they missed the last three episodes of Dynamite. Which were arguably some of the best they had all year.
I'm sorry but that AEW UK card is pretty dead. It's a Dynamite, not a PPV - you just need a PAC match, Orange Cassidy vs a UK dude and Jamie Hayter vs anyone.
The title matches out of nowhere with random wrestlers is the worst. They also have to find a better production producer or at least a better music producer or something - AEW wrestlers' music sucks 90% of the time. Take a look at WWE - pick anyone and their music will be a banger. Just compare Kenny Omega's entrance music in NJPW and in AEW. Two completely different universes.
For the sake of time and continuity, they need to make some bits connect from the end of dynamite to the beginning of rampage. The Jade spot where she doesn't leave the ring would work SO perfectly for something like this and doesn't actually eat up a ton of time. That, or Claudio swinging someone at the end of dynamite, and still swinging at the start of rampage.
that would be really cool but they rarely acknowledge rampage is taped so how do they explain Claudio swinging someone for 2 days straight haha.
@@TheSubZer0HEro they don't explain much as it is
@@TheSubZer0HEro "Hello ! Excalibur here. As you can see Claudio is still spinning Jericho, it's been 48 hours and 6 minutes now"

Ethan is one of the best talkers... He didn't need a mouthpiece.)
Ethan Page is bland I’m sorry
@@tnzm6838 if you've watched him in impact you'll know that's not true. He just hasn't been able to prove it yet because he's been given mouthpieces like Dan Lambert and Stokely Hathaway. Once they get him on his own, he'll be one of the best heels or faces in the company.
Tbf tony deffo plans shit out. See the first few champion being know before the company began. He struggles with adapting to injuries and change of plans. He deffo plans stuff out but struggle on the fly
Mjf vs Kenny Omega vs will ospreay
is the wrestling Podcast still going? or has that ended??
The on-screen guys (except Tom and Adam) have had time off over Christmas.
It'll go back to normal soon.
@@reno_2200 thanks for explaining
I don’t agree 💯 with a “ brand split “ . I can agree with some talent being ‘ exclusive to Dynamite’ and ‘ exclusive to Rampage ‘., and some that show up on both ‘ brands ‘.
Moxley could become a "Kahn-man"... for Jack's pitch...
I think they could seriously build up Eddie to dethrone MJF. It not what I think's gonna happen, it's what I want to happen
Eddie vs MJF... battle of the best promos in the business. That storyline will be incredible
This talk about the four pillers. Kenny need to be the one to beat mjf because what are the pillers gona be able to hold up without a great foundation
For sure, the only person I want MJF to lose to is EDDIE KINGSTON. I’m an emotional guy, and I can’t imagine how KINGSTON would react to winning the world title.
Let’s go!! New year, same great cultaholic. Buzzing my Tattas off
I need to smoke what jack is on cause Eddie as Austin you gotta be high
It’s sucks that all these videos were done before the 13 of December. It means they missed the last three episodes of Dynamite. Which were arguably some of the best they had all year.
Hi
Hello.
I want MJF to hold the title all year and Eddie to take it from him right at the end
Is it just me who thinks that the whole punk thing is a work? Tony didn’t care about what he said and they attacked him and he got fired?
He even asked for drinks
AEW is an alternative to the WWE. Why would you want them to just adopt multiple things the WWE themselves do??
I personally think “Do better booking“ is neither entertaining nor a pitch.
I'm sorry but that AEW UK card is pretty dead. It's a Dynamite, not a PPV - you just need a PAC match, Orange Cassidy vs a UK dude and Jamie Hayter vs anyone.
Someone please step in and help AEW. Jim get off your high horse and take a Job
If aew draft people to roh is it a degrading?
A nothing glorified mid carder as world champion over MJF who's actually got a better future is a loss
Eddie Kingston as champion…😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 what a joke!
RIP RICK FLARE
cm punk comin back
Naw
I'm sry but I can't watch any videos with Jake just something about him I don't like
if eddie kingston takes the belt off mjf I promise i’ll neve watch pro wrestling ever again
