This mom definitely should be helping to financially support their children. That’s every parents responsibility. She doesn’t seem credible in her testimony. she seems to be lying about him trying to alienate their children as a means to punish him and his family. I wish my children’s dad had been there for them. When my youngest was 2 months old, I was no longer able to be a stay at home mother and I loved it, but when me & my husband separated, & divorced, I never received child support, was a single mother of 3 and rather than fight over in court and put my children through this crap-I thought I am not wasting my valuable time trying to get a man to do do the right thing. i made a plan to become self employed, for being able to be there for my children & take off for my children without worrying about losing my job. It took a year, but became a licensed hairdresser & retired after 27 years; however, the first 5 years had to work a night job, too until I became financially established enough to support my children solely with my day job. My choice to become self employed when my children was younger was to be able to make my hours around there needs; doctor appointments, school activities, ball practice…. After 5 years of working my butt off, loosing sleep from working day and night, it paid off & I opened my own beauty/barber and tanning salon right next door to our home, on a small piece of property in county on a well traveled road, and built my business within the first year, I was free. And my children could get off the bus, come to the shop before walking right next door home, get a snack, while they did homework or stay at the shop if they wanted. I flipped that open -closed sign on Sunday and at anytime that I needed to for hair services, while leaving the shop door unlocked for the tanning clients for their own self service tanning. My children all graduated, & now I’m a grandma, who loves spending time with my grandchildren and working on my small farm. I sure prayed a lot to get through those hard early years and still do, God is so good. I pray grandpa gets to see his grandsons and these children have peace & both parents.

Are you basing that opinion off of her story about the domestic violence? Because I would probably hesitate to believe that story. There is a lot of manipulation going on. That story is jarring to hear. So that's why they told it, and that's why they told it the way they told it... there Is a reason they told that story in particular, because it made him look as bad as they could possibly make him look. Most men don't report domestic violence on their wife. They just take it and live with it. So we don't know what this relationship was like. Because they're both spinning things to make themselves look Better of course. But what she is doing is she is manipulating. Everybody, and she's got everybody wrapped around her little finger. So that tells me she's probably super toxic. And just by her comment about him. When he left, she basically acted like he leaves, And that's just what he does. Well, she wasn't understanding that he leaves because, like most men, you don't want things to escalate. Leaving is de-escalating the situation. But if you stay, you're giving her exactly what she wants so that she can continue to push your buttons and force you to get to a point where you say something or do something that will hurt you.

My mother walked out on us five kids leaving Dad to raise us when I was about seven and even though she made his life a living hell and refused to pay child support for years he never said a bad word about her ..she belittled him every chance she got and regularly told us what a terrible man he was and how she never wanted to marry him but she was pregnant with my eldest brother and felt trapped, however she chose to have five more children with him so he couldn’t be that bad . As I got older I understood what a narcissistic person she was and when she decided to cease all contact with all of us it was actually a relief.. my Daddy was always there for me and I miss him tremendously since he died many years ago.

@@Not_that_kind_of_Drmy kids haven’t seen their dad in two or three months, and it breaks my heart. Visits were sporadic at best before that too. They’re older, our daughter is 17 and she doesn’t really want to go there. But our son is 15, he’s at an age where he very much needs his dad’s influence and guidance. Try as I might to be everything he needs, I just can’t replace a father for a 15 year old boy. He said he “hit hard times” so he hasn’t been able to have them over. He has another kid who’s about 3 years old, and I’d bet money he’s still having that child over to visit on the weekends. The only reason he’s had our kids over in the last year or so was to babysit the younger one so he could work. He seems to put our kids second to his other child, and I very much hope they don’t feel that too.
He’s the kind of guy who always talks about how he’s going to die young, that he’s not going to live to be an old man. When we were married I would stop him from saying that in front of the kids, but I have no idea how many times he’s said that around them in the last 6 years we’ve been divorced. I truly hope our kids don’t think of that, and wish they could see him more.
Bottom line, sorry for the long reply, and I understand how your wife feels.

"Dad" admitted he did stupid things before having kids. She acts like she never did anything wrong, but abused drugs, lost custody of another child, and it's not easy to take a child from, especially their mother!
She danced around the diagnosis question, after implying their child was at deaths door. I won't believe he was in ICU, unless an ICU Dr testifies that he was there. The father needs to get the medical records, directly from the hospital, not her. I don't trust that she wouldn't forge them.
Then, she said she did give the children gifts, his parents sent for them, but I believe the children did tell his grandparents that they didn't get any gifts from them! I really hope the judge asks the children about that! I am concerned that the mother, and perhaps her lawyer, will groom the children into lying, by telling them their father only wants them to hurt them, and that their daddy wants to hurt or kill mommy, so they need to tell the judge that daddy hurt them, and they don't want to see him or grandma and grandpa!
That lawyer alleged things not proven, but were only told to her, by the mother! Those were just a few of the lies the mother told!

This whole hearing just made me angry. I was married for 24 years, and my ex and I were solid when it came to custody and parenting. Friend of the court was surprised (I also live in MI). He and I are friends and still are. He could come over whenever to see the kiddos as long as he texted first so that he could find out if they were home. We both were very involved with their HS activities and even volunteered together to make sure we didn’t miss a thing. Both kids are adults (one in the home stretch of college), and I still keep him informed of every little text I get from either of our two children and he does as well.
The main thing we decided before we had children was if something happened and we divorced, we would never use children as pawns, and we’d never speak negatively of the other or manipulate them. This is why you have to have a good friendship first. We just can’t live together. Lol

That mother and her lawyer seem to be manipulative, and the lawyer suggesting he chooses not to visit his children, who she moved 1200 miles away, and she refuses to work, makes me believe she only wants the children, to collect money, that she uses to live on!
I hope he can get evidence from the hospital, as his father, about why he was there, and if he was in ICU for three days. He needs to call the company that facilitates contact, to get printouts of exact times she sent emails, and if the system was really down, or did she tamper with it. She was asked a few times about a diagnosis for her son's hospital stay, and she kept dancing around the answer. He needs to get someone to find out if she actually stopped smoking, or was she lying about that too. The mediator needs to ask the children, if they got presents from his parents, her grandparents, or did she tell them it was from her. I would believe she did that. How is she paying for a lawyer??? The lawyer saying his parents supporting their son, was beyond disgusting. He admitted he did things before having children, but she acts like she never did anything wrong. The mediator/judge needs to require an unannounced drug screen, via hair follicle test, and test for nicotine as well. She needs to get a job, and stop having babies, with different men, just to collect child support, she lives on. Taxpayers are likely paying for everything else. Abusers of the system, become experts on how to manipulate the govt assistance programs, to "steal money", without working! If they are discovered and cut off of State assistance, they move to another state, and do the minimum, to steal assistance money and housing, from that state. They become professional victims!

I remember when I got Child Support. 1, I had to get a full time job, not sit at home living off of CS.2 , You could always use the CS toward day care- that's what I did, so I could work. 3, When I had a 4 bedroom house and job in another state, the judge said I couldn't leave the state. I had to stay for visitation. Also so the drive wouldn't be so long. You want the child support to keep coming but fail to understand that he has to work in order for the CS. Driving across the country would make him lose the job for just a few hours of visit. Your attorney isn't thinking either. You guys need to work it out, and I must say shame on you mom for putting unreasonable demands on dad to see his children

Mom is lying through her teeth. If he abused her she would remember what happened because it is traumatic but she has no details just well it happened a lot. If he’s willing to take polygraph on the DV and she/lawyer refuse it’s bc she’s lying. On top of him catching her in multiple lies fe the falling on ice breaking tailbone yet in prev court hearing blaming her back issues on his dv. Also her claiming to have to argue w him while sitting in the hospital while there son has a tube down his throat when dad didn’t even get the msg/respond til 5 days later(the msg dates prove that) when they were out the hospital. It shows how not credible she is and she’s pulling every trick out the hat to keep him from having visitation w there kids. Moving out of state 1200 miles and requesting supervised visits based on the lies she told she got and acts like she’s doing him a favor willing to drive 40miles to a place.🙄 these women! If cops were involved throughout there entire marriage why did none of the charges ever stick? He wasn’t convicted of any? Its fishy. Alot of dv victims don’t call the cops so there’s no documentation to bring charges vs this case if police were involved there would 100% been charged/convictions bc the courts are pretty tough on they don’t need victims to prosecute dv they will pick it up and try the case. She’s terrible for what she’s doing he may not have been perfect but she admitted she don’t worry about abuse or neglect w dad and kids. Oh bc he asked questions of who they are around, ya most parents want to know that. I don’t find that bad. She has total control, they are pawns to her to use against dad. She sure ain’t mad about the cs. Which he should ask to be reduced due to needing to travel to have his parenting time. A court would grant that. Lawyers are good in that sense of helping in those areas
