Got an extremely small scratch near the middle and it pisses me off that Nintendo would put a crappy protector atop the screen.
I literally just bought it a few days ago and already have a scratch and small crack on top…. I was super cautious with it too.. good to know I’m not the only one who had this issue

Mine had a screen protector on it already, that probably wasn't your screen that's scratched, just the protector Nintendo puts on it doing its job, when it gets too bad just get it replaced
Everyone the nintendo switch dock isn't meant to scratch the screen, if it does report it to nintendo and they will send you a new tablet.
Where do you go to report that at?
I put one on immediately, but not because I was smart to do so, because I am quite dumb, and very stupid, too, but only because, and prior to getting mine, I had read online, and watched other TH-cam videos, stating that the film that comes already installed on the system is not an actual screen protector, whatsoever, and of any kind, but is only there in case of a drop/damage, and is supposed to keep the glass shards from going everywhere, or cutting someone, which is why they say do not remove it.
i put it in my bag with no sharp items, only my phone and airpods, there are huge scratches on the front and i don’t know what from. i don’t know what to do
I don't dock it anymore. I am mainly handheld but docking it just to charge it caused small scratches. Pissed but yes I just charge it in my carrying case. Thanks for helping people out
Mine ended up getting a scratch where you had described yours was at. I'm convinced docking it scratched it.
I did not put anything on mine and it’s scratched all over from being in the dock. It pisses me off. I waited for so long to play and it was expensive. Makes me so mad.
Same here nit even 3 days out of the box and that dock just raped my screen 😑
@@andreyshort9167same, put a temper glass on top and it’s still visible. Will probably have to go somewhere to get nitendo protector taken off
Mine had a scratch already out of thr box, is tiny for see it you must put the console under direct light but it's there, the good is as the glass make it invisible, but yeeah i feel your pain

@@jboy3164 yeah, terrible quality control by Nintendo, its a tiny hairline just out of the box, i saw it before putting the tempered glass, i am pissed off because it wasnt even my fault !!!
Don’t even sweat it we both on the same page I was thinking it was refurbished but got the Nintendo switch OLED when it first came out so for sure it wasn’t refurbished I guess you can say it’s a “birthmark” lol
@@jboy3164 Yeah i think so too, the protective film applied from nintendo anyway is crap, it scratch very easily, just wiping may it cause light mark on it, the temepered glass hide the marks but they still annoy me....anyway i have to deal with them at this point...i will not change it or swapping because at 99% i feel gonna happen again
i put one on right when i bought it..had no idea there was a thin film already on the screen until i kept seeing videos about it...i never dock as im strictly handheld

Hey! So I know that this video is old, but my Oled got a tiny scratch on my screen but it's on the adhesive film that comes along with the console. The tempered glass didn't save it at all and I can still see the scratch. Is it safe to just remove the film?
Won't make the same mistake twice guess my first oled will be a docked switch but I won't ever dock my brand new one

Never mind I found it I have like 10 scratches on my screen and I’m guessing they are all from the dock, do you think you can take off the protector already on the base switch and replace it?

You have to put a tempered glass it's the only way to save it

Maybe just put a tempered glass on it you might save it
I'm getting another one tomorrow too you might as well keep the first one and make it a permanent docked switch and just charge your brand new one with a cord
Remove the "permanent" film and install protective glass, don't thank me.
Why would you double screen protect it if it already has one? If I scratch my original OLeD protector I’d probably replace it , otherwise I’m good.
I play in handheld mode mostly! But literally just saw somebody post wack cloth dock protectors... which gave me the idea to custom ones 🤯
Always make sure your switch isn’t rubbing against the dock when being placed in✌🏼

I just did this with same brand and mine stayed :( I’m going to get the original one removed
When I got my Nintendo switch oled I was going to get a screen protector but was kinda getting second though because people where saying it has tempered glass but I say a video that said that it does have tempered glass but it also has a sheet of plastic above the tempered glass so I decided to get a screen protector and a case for the switch so it doesn’t get scuffs on it and I also brought a carrying case for it

I’m so confused, when you applied this new screen protector can you not see the scratch anymore??? Or is that tiny scratch still visible under the tempered glass? I have major OCD and can’t ignore the tiny scratch I have, i’m literally considering spending 100 dollars just to fix that tiny scratch cause it catch’s my eye so much and bothers me so badly in handheld. It’s the same for me, took incredible care of it, only had it a week, docked it maybe once to do something on it and it scratched. Let me know if this made it so that scratch was no longer visible, or this just prevents future scratching. I’m assuming the second one but hoping maybe this worked and I won’t have to spend 100 dollars just to fix a tiny scratch …. anyways let me know and thanks for the video!

@@Julian_binkusyeah idk I’m thinking about literally spending like over a hundred dollars to fix it with Nintendo and then putting a screen protector on it right away. I really don’t wanna spend that for a tiny scratch but I’m also OCD and it’s really bothering me
@@benstolen69 Something like that would bother me too!!! I made sure to put on a screen protector soon as I took the OLED Switch out the box. I had the original switch for a long time without a screen protector and I had a tiny scratch in the corner. My eyes would always gravitate towards it no matter what.
Switch OLED? Im still waiting to find a ps5. 😂
