Both of my goldies love their vegetables so much they have figured out how to bang on their DIY veggie clip (so it just clicks against the tank) I've gotten to the point where I'm offering small amounts of leafy greens almost every day. I've found them to be so much more active and generally in good goldfish spirits.
I just bought an Oranda, Black Moor and a Pearlscale goldfish. They are only about an inch long each so I guess they are still babies. The Saki-Hikari is the food I chose for them and after seeing this I am glad I shelled out the extra $. I want them to grow up to be healthy and gorgeous like yours so these videos are very helpful.
Va Rose hi I just wanted to say be sure your blackmoor goldfish gets food they are very slow swimmers compared to the other goldfish and may not get any food.
@@sarahshultz3890 i have a black moor and a shubunkin, and the black moor doesnt get as much food because the other eats most of it. How do I make sure they both eat the write amount? Thank you
Dear Jennie, I've been watching You for many months and im a massive fan. I might get an 80 gallon tank for my birthday and my parents said if I got one then they would take me out to buy 2 fancy goldfish. These would also be my first fancy goldfish :)Anyway, I really want a calendar and parents are getting me one on christmas day. Your sincerly, Dylan Baker
I finally understood how to feed my fish and from the rest of your videos I understood everything I didn't understand before about taking care of goldfish. Thank you very much! Greetings from Serbia!
Hey i was wondering do you feed them 1% of their body mass per day or per portion ? PS: ive been OBSESSED with your videos ive watch all of the essentials and im planning soon to have 2 butterflies telescope because i found that your videos are very instructive and shows an other side of goldfish that i never saw ( i always saw the typical tiny goldfish in a bowl thingy ( So cruel)) but now i see art pieces and lovable little creatures :) thanks for all your instructives videos !

I switch between pellets and I make sure my flakes sink or I hand feed with flakes but pellets are really good, I also use a dry to wet brine shrimp. I love this video it's so helpful!!! Thank you!!
I have 2 Shubunkins and I switched them off flake food because my fish were gulping air and one of them was listing to the side. feeding pellets for a week or two fixed it. gulping air can still affect comet bodied fish too.
I feed my fish flakes. Like all floating food it sinks eventually but I remove it before that happens. So basically my fish have to go to the surface to eat. I have done this for a year with these gold fish and nothing bad has happened. But now I am worried, should I change to sinking food or will they be okay? Also they used to be in an unfiltered tank. And now they are in a filtered tank. They seem to be floating every now and again. But then they are fine again after the filter is turned off. I really want to keep the filter in there but I think it's the problem. What do you think I should do?
Thanks to a friend I've got three different kinds of food pellets. New Life Spectrum, the Purple Hikari, and Omega One veggie. So I just alternate between them, along with a daily cube of gel food, and blood worms or veggies about 2-3 times a week. Just be sure that whatever you feed is a sinking food, anfd that you only feed as much as they'll polish off in a couple of minutes.
I feed my goldfish flakes but I feed vegatables and quite a few peas as I heard they are good. I have been doing this for nearly a year. Where would I buy your favourite pellets from? Are they sold in pet stores? A question. I have 2 goldfish blackmoor and fantail. They both have flakes but 1 of them doesnt gulps at the surface. Well, i havent seen her do it, unless she does when Im asleep. She would swim around cleaning ornaments 3/4 of the time. But the blackmoor. When I rehomed him he was constantly gulping at the surface. He has stopped a bit but still gulps at the surface. How can I try to reduce his gulping? He has redused since I have been feeding him peas. Have you had this problem before?
I have comet goldfish but I'm afraid to feed them sinking pellets because they have large gravel rocks and I feel as though they may ingest them and die. Should I buy aquarium sand?
yes definitely get aquarium sand. the ancestor of the goldfish, naturally scavenges for food at the bottom, they sift through the sand, they do swallow sand, but it is natural, because they are designed to sift through the sand looking for bits of food, this is hard to do, safely, with gravel.

Can you feed goldfish corn or cornmeal in a gel mix with other stuff? Wild Carp love corn but I am not finding any homemade goldfish food using corn or cornmeal. I was thinking cornmeal mixed with dried brine shrimp and some greens. Add gelatin with some water and you have a quick and easy homemade fish food. All parts except the gelatin can be grown at home.
Hi, I just bought 2 comet goldfish 5 days ago and I've been feeding them fish pellets only since I didn't knew bout the other things and the place where I bought them from said that I could feed them fish pellets only and it would be fine too and they would still be healthy, but I want to make sure if that's okay? Also the Saki pellets brand that you recommend, would that be okay to feed comet goldfish and koi fish too or some other brand would be better? And I saw a video on TH-cam bout this guy telling how feeding goldfish with peas would help them with constipation and feeding them at least once a week would also help prevent them from being constipated but which veggie would you recommend that would the best to feed them? I know you talk a bit bout it in this video but I wanted to ask to make sure since I know every fish has a diff diet routine. Btw my comet goldfish aren't very big yet, as for my other 2 goldfish since I got it from a friend I'm not sure what type goldfish it is
I love your VDO Jennie. I have joined the goldfish club and all the members there suggested to me that they fed their fish steamed eggs or egg tofu. It is to get their goldfish larger and fat and can sell for good price. I have tried it and my fish love it. Only problem is the water need changing very often. Anyone reading this can try it. What I have done is put egg in a little bowl... add a bit of water and beat it. then wrap the bowl with clingwrap...then 40 seconds in microwave. Then you got your fish food. 1 egg is way enough. Have fun creating your fish food.

I mix everything into my rapashy goldfish. Worms, brine and mysis shrimp, and veggies. No mess and they eat every morsel. I even crush up my ski hikari and mix it in the rapashy gold.
I’ve fed my goldfish frozen (and then thawed) bloodworms every day for the past 2 years or so. They seem healthy and very active. I’m Gonna consider adding hikari pellets though.
I was planning to feed my golfishies some of my homemade gel food, San Francisco Bay Sally's Frozen Brine Shrimp, and some goldfish pellets. (I have 3 cory catfish too). Any feeding schedule suggestions with the foods I listed above. Also my homemade gel food ingredients consist of: - 1 Gerber's baby food (green peas) - 2 packs of Knox unflavored gelatin (then added boiling water and mix) - About 1/4 cup of red bell pepper, cucumber, and bussel sprout - 8 pieces of tiny/small dried shrimp - 1 tsp of shrimp pellets (for more "flavoring") - Little less than half of fresh garlic I blended these in a blender and pour in tray. Then refrigerate. Is my ingredients bad??? It's my first time making gel food.
I live in northern British Columbia Canada and the brand name pellet foods you have mentioned here I cannot get here so I’m just wondering what good ingredients should I be looking for in my fish food and the bad ingredients to avoid thanks for all your wonderful advice
? do gold fish eat Preserved Forest Moss, or java moss, I have java moss already growing in my 100 gall tank, I was thinking of adding Preserved Forest Moss for them next month
Just bought 6 baby goldfish... I feed them mainly on freezed or dried bloodworms bought in plastic can.... They simply loved it... The bloodworms diet bring out bright colour of the fish...
I have some flake food and heard what you said about the flakes floating and the fish ingesting air. I found that you can take a large pinch of flakes and push then underwater they disperse nicely and the fish go nuts!
I feed my pearlscales artificial mosquito larvae that contains just the same nutrients of a real mosquito larvae. Although it's a "floating" kind of pellet, the pearlscales just eat them from the bottom part of the pellets without actually consuming any air :) they only consume air rarely, but i'm relatively sure this is fine since Koi and Goldfish go to the surface naturally..
the hat wearing gamer . I absolutely love this comment. After 20 mins of in depth conversation and all the lengthy comments from people asking how and what to feed you said " I just feed mine till there full". It really made me laugh.
Thank you! I bought flakes and I highly recommend to stay away from flake food. I bought a bigver tank, bought Omega one pellets and they do sink. I will buy the one you are using in the future.
Dude I have been feeding both of my gold fish flakes for the past 4 years . And they both are very healthy and have seem to do better then when I fed my old one pelits
When you say use emerald frozen food to avoid “floaty“ fish. What do you mean by floaty? And where did you get that piece of hardware to hang the spinach in the tank?
I feed flaked but with my filter flowing water into the tank, the flakes get under the flow and it pushes all the flakes to the bottom. So usually my fish grab the flakes in the middle of the water and nibble off the bottom all day.
Ive been growing duckweed in a bucket with some of the water and the dirt that comes out of the filter sponge. Its a high protein green thats a healthy suppliment and its free. They seem to like it in my pond.
thank you for all this great info. i need to really buckle down and set feeding times. every time i walk by the tank my fish gets excited and seems to "beg" and i always give her something.
Then what would you say about floating plants like duckweed? It’s so good for fish as you know. I feed mine duckweed multiple times a week, I know they surface gulp but duckweed is the only acception
Hi Solid Gold! I don’t expect you to answer this but anyone who knows more about Goldfish than me please help! I just got my Black Moor, Nerbert, and I would like some help. So far he is basically 3” from head to tail. He is in a 10 gallon tank right now. The guy at Pet Smart said that he is going to need a 30 gal when he gets older, but then I go and read articles and I either get 10 gal minimum or another said 10 gal for a whole adult! I have a great filter on it, which actually produces a lot of bubbles since the water has a longer way to fall. He loves trying to swim up it and is very active so far. I do feed flakes but like a few others I feed it right by the filter so that it sinks. I have basically never seen him feed off the top, just scavenging or catching it as it floats down. I have a small heater in there that keeps it around 72F, and I feed him once at night and once in the morning. I’ve watched your growth video as well, so here are my questions. 1. How big do you think he will get? 2. Should I feed less or more? 3. Will he need a bigger tank? 4. Do you think he will need a bubbler? 5. Anything else you notice from my description that you want to tip me off about?
That isn't that old for a goldfish, I knew someone who Kept a goldfish in a bow and it had a sad miserable existence for almost 5 years. its growth was stunted and it was unhealthy but survived. If properly taken care of they can live upwards of 20+ years (record being around 50! i believe) and turn out as large 8 to 12 inches depending on species and be healthy and magnificent creatures!
Katie A Katie, I feed mine, i have 3, every other day because it reduces the need to clean and the water stays a lot cleaner. I think what you are doing is most important, the bigger the tank the less you have to worry with it. Tanks don't clean themselves, but the more space you have the better you can build a mini-ecosystem that is less dependent on you fussing with it. People always have 1000 rules and I live to break them. Mine live with harlequin rasboras and cherry barbs, something everyone will tell you not to do, but they get along fine, and the rasboras and barbs are fine as long as the temp is over 60.
Hi my name is Peter, new to goldfish keeping. I fed my fish defrosted Tubifex fir the first time today and was alarmed at the discoloring of the water. Am I doing something wrong. Is there a way to feed defrosted food without the messy water? Thanks.
New Life Spectrum or Omega one?? which is the best? If I want 3 of my pearlscale goldfish to grow faster, bigger chubby body, which is the best to feed them with??
hi...I need dome suggestions about aquarium stones....I have a lot of colored stone...which are called james stone.....now my question is that the colored stone are applicable for fishesh??I mean can colored stone emit color?? if it is then is it healthy for my aquarium fishes??
She doesn't like flake food because honestly this person seems to be a hipster. She seems to stay away from commonly used items simply because the fact because they're commonly used items. She basically said it herself that she thinks the basic majority think flake food is good for goldfish. Flake for doesn't float, you simply have to push it in to the water for a few seconds, same with pellet food that don't sink. It's also designed to not dissolve in water. I literally went into this video thinking, "she's not going to like flake food because the basic majority use it and make up some shit to prove her point." and the exact thing happened because it's a trend in most of her videos. I'm not trying to jack off flake food, I myself prefer pellets and a variety of vegetables.
I'm in Australia and this has been really helpful I have Orandas and fan tails and i have been having so much trouble with swim bladder disease you cant get saki hikari here so i got Hikari LIONHEAD MINI 350G - Premium Grade Lionhead, Oranda, Azumanishiki and Ranchu sinking pellets i really hope they work =)
would the hikari lionhead is it good with fan tail goldfish and butterfly tail and my black moor, because that was the only kind of fish food that i found around me that will go to the bottom of the tank and that don't lining on the top of the tank?
Hello, I searched for the sinking pellets on Amazon and there are two purple color bags. One is dark purple and the other is light purple. Is, it the light purple or dark purple bag?
Which saki hikari pellets would you recommend? My pellets are the floating kind but i found a way to make them sink. Always wanted to try saki hikari but not sure which one is most suitable for my ranchus
I feed my fish flake food 3 times a week, but what I do is get a pair of tweezers ( only used for this ) and a put it underwater and it sinks. Is that ok? Is it still bad for my goldfish?

- 2 packs of Knox unflavored gelatin (then added boiling water and mix)
- About 1/4 cup of red bell pepper, cucumber, and bussel sprout
- 8 pieces of tiny/small dried shrimp
- 1 tsp of shrimp pellets (for more "flavoring")
- Little less than half of fresh garlic
I blended these in a blender and pour in tray. Then refrigerate.
Is my ingredients bad??? It's my first time making gel food.
We gold fish like the wal mart brand of food the best!
😂😂😂😂
true! it is the best!!!
Haha lol
Goldfish its ingredients are un healthy
Goldfish lmao
I live in northern British Columbia Canada and the brand name pellet foods you have mentioned here I cannot get here so I’m just wondering what good ingredients should I be looking for in my fish food and the bad ingredients to avoid thanks for all your wonderful advice
Your hair looks really cool I like how you have done it 🙂
Should I feed my black moors both gel food (such as repashy) and pellets (such as Hikari pellets) or choose between the two?
I just watched a 20 min video and I still don't know how to feed my goldfish. She just too darn cute. I don't know what she said. hahahaha.
gg
Wow. Nice.
Her eyes....daam me too what too concentrate her bamby eyes or gold fish
uh
? do gold fish eat Preserved Forest Moss, or java moss, I have java moss already growing in my 100 gall tank, I was thinking of adding Preserved Forest Moss for them next month
I bought sinking pellets but they float :( I need to buy some more lol
soak them in water
Just bought 6 baby goldfish... I feed them mainly on freezed or dried bloodworms bought in plastic can.... They simply loved it... The bloodworms diet bring out bright colour of the fish...
I use Flakes and the actually sink right away, so my goldfish never have to swim to the top.
I have some flake food and heard what you said about the flakes floating and the fish ingesting air. I found that you can take a large pinch of flakes and push then underwater they disperse nicely and the fish go nuts!
0:56 adorable!
I think she is being held hostage by goldfish and they are making her tell the world the foods that they really like.
What do you think of the North fin formula it is mainly shrimp salmon and vegetable
her hair reminds me of seth rollins
+Mekatakuto Katatakuto melanie martinez for meee
Ha same!
lol it does
+FATBOY126KING lol
Welcome to Monday night rawlins! xD
Love your videos! what is that green paste food on the rocks? my fish would love that 😊
i just feed mine till there full
the hat wearing gamer . I absolutely love this comment. After 20 mins of in depth conversation and all the lengthy comments from people asking how and what to feed you said " I just feed mine till there full". It really made me laugh.
that’s great.
And where did you get that piece of hardware to hang the spinach in the tank?
intermediate age 2 years old? gold fish live over 30 years old
Wait what really?
Khornebread if token care good
Intermediate means not quite adult. meaning yes they can live 30 years but they are an adult for more of those years. Baby Intermediate adult.
i found that its good to give spirulina for head growth. Can i dip steamed broccoli in powdered spirulina and feed that to them?
is gold fish needs air pump
About Everything yes, otherwise they’d be gasping for air at the survive or in some cases dying
I feed flaked but with my filter flowing water into the tank, the flakes get under the flow and it pushes all the flakes to the bottom. So usually my fish grab the flakes in the middle of the water and nibble off the bottom all day.
im slightly pebbled
three Musketeers that profile pic lol
Ive been growing duckweed in a bucket with some of the water and the dirt that comes out of the filter sponge. Its a high protein green thats a healthy suppliment and its free. They seem to like it in my pond.
If you dont play the music we might be able to hear you
thank you for all this great info. i need to really buckle down and set feeding times. every time i walk by the tank my fish gets excited and seems to "beg" and i always give her something.
I Have Been Feeding My G fish For 3 years With Treats that Float.Trust Me it doesnt matter if Its floating or Not.
Well, are they fancy goldfish???
Then what would you say about floating plants like duckweed? It’s so good for fish as you know. I feed mine duckweed multiple times a week, I know they surface gulp but duckweed is the only acception
i took your advise and brought saki hilkari they seemed too enjoy it but the next day they died thanks !
It was most likely an unfortunate coincidence rather than the food being the cause.
😂😂😂
You know what's funny I broke all your rules of gold fish and yet my fish is 5
That isn't that old for a goldfish, I knew someone who Kept a goldfish in a bow and it had a sad miserable existence for almost 5 years. its growth was stunted and it was unhealthy but survived.
If properly taken care of they can live upwards of 20+ years (record being around 50! i believe) and turn out as large 8 to 12 inches depending on species and be healthy and magnificent creatures!
I know but he lives in a big tank 50 and you say its sad.....(with no fish but him)
Katie A Katie, I feed mine, i have 3, every other day because it reduces the need to clean and the water stays a lot cleaner. I think what you are doing is most important, the bigger the tank the less you have to worry with it. Tanks don't clean themselves, but the more space you have the better you can build a mini-ecosystem that is less dependent on you fussing with it. People always have 1000 rules and I live to break them. Mine live with harlequin rasboras and cherry barbs, something everyone will tell you not to do, but they get along fine, and the rasboras and barbs are fine as long as the temp is over 60.
i have 50 of them
They mean your feeding, not tank size you fool
Hi my name is Peter, new to goldfish keeping. I fed my fish defrosted Tubifex fir the first time today and was alarmed at the discoloring of the water. Am I doing something wrong. Is there a way to feed defrosted food without the messy water? Thanks.
lmao . what is it with this girl and AIR lol .
New Life Spectrum or Omega one?? which is the best? If I want 3 of my pearlscale goldfish to grow faster, bigger chubby body, which is the best to feed them with??
This is a 20 fucking minute long video on how to feed goldfish
Yes. Great isn't it
Yeah, food is kind of important, wouldn't you say?
pinkcat NE hey the more you now 😂
IM ADICTED TO EATING HELP ME
alt pinkcat 😁😂😂
Hey! What do you use for the spinach??
Then wait till the goldfish grows and put it on the grill and add some seasonings on it. c:
hi...I need dome suggestions about aquarium stones....I have a lot of colored stone...which are called james stone.....now my question is that the colored stone are applicable for fishesh??I mean can colored stone emit color?? if it is then is it healthy for my aquarium fishes??
She doesn't like flake food because honestly this person seems to be a hipster. She seems to stay away from commonly used items simply because the fact because they're commonly used items. She basically said it herself that she thinks the basic majority think flake food is good for goldfish. Flake for doesn't float, you simply have to push it in to the water for a few seconds, same with pellet food that don't sink. It's also designed to not dissolve in water. I literally went into this video thinking, "she's not going to like flake food because the basic majority use it and make up some shit to prove her point." and the exact thing happened because it's a trend in most of her videos. I'm not trying to jack off flake food, I myself prefer pellets and a variety of vegetables.
fish food She knows what's she's doing. Feeding solely flakes will not grow your fish to their full potential. That's all really.
fish food jack off flake food😂😂💀
name checks out
i actually noticed this too
She's not a "hipster" she's just educated and warned people about something that can cause health problems for their fish.
I'm in Australia and this has been really helpful I have Orandas and fan tails and i have been having so much trouble with swim bladder disease you cant get saki hikari here so i got Hikari LIONHEAD MINI 350G - Premium Grade Lionhead, Oranda, Azumanishiki and Ranchu sinking pellets i really hope they work =)
Where did you purchase or what is the little green's holder called showed with the spinach?
can your put Organic pollen or Organic bee pollen in home made goldfish
Do you know any other gel food that can be purchased outside of the US?
Can I feed my goldfish any of the Hikari foods? For eg. Can I feed 'Lionhead' Hikari sinking pellets to my Comets, common and Blackmore goldfish?
would the hikari lionhead is it good with fan tail goldfish and butterfly tail and my black moor, because that was the only kind of fish food that i found around me that will go to the bottom of the tank and that don't lining on the top of the tank?
Hello, I searched for the sinking pellets on Amazon and there are two purple color bags. One is dark purple and the other is light purple. Is, it the light purple or dark purple bag?
Which saki hikari pellets would you recommend? My pellets are the floating kind but i found a way to make them sink. Always wanted to try saki hikari but not sure which one is most suitable for my ranchus
I feed my fish flake food 3 times a week, but what I do is get a pair of tweezers ( only used for this ) and a put it underwater and it sinks. Is that ok? Is it still bad for my goldfish?
