    02:47 - 06:50 The worms, saying hello :)
    06:50 - 12:20 The contents (including pieces of worn-out 100% cotton underwear!) :D
12:20 - 26:03 The actual result: the compost after 6 months

I have followed the same principles as per below.
If you are also new to garden and kitchen waste composting or would like to start your own, I hope you will find the below information useful too.
    Happy gardening! xxx. :)
To make good compost, you need a 50:50 mix of materials that are rich in nitrogen and carbon.
Nitrogen comes from lush, green materail such as grass clippings and carbon comes from brown material, such as woody stems and cardboard.
For every bucket load of green material, you need to add the same volume of brown. It is a good idea to cut up all material into small pieces before adding so that it breaks down easily.
You can also add certain papers, whole eggs boxes or loo rolls as they will help to reduce campaction and keep the compost aerated.
    WHAT DO YOU NEED?
1.) A partly shady space in the garden
2.) An equal mix of green waste (source of nitrogen) and brown (carbon rich) waste
    3.) Compost bin
(Optional - a compost maker to speed up the natural composting process)
    WHAT TO ADD:
Green nitrogen-rich waste: Grass clippings, annual weeds, raw fruit and veg, and used teabags.
Carbon-rich waste (brown): Prunings, hedge trimmings, paper or newspaper (loosely scrunched up is best), cardboard and straw.
Also add: Eggshells, natural fibres (wool or cotton), wood ash (not too much)
    WHAT TO LEAVE OUT:
Don't add: Diseased plants, perennial weeds, citrus (slow to rot and very acidic which reduces worm activity), raw meat, dairy products, gloss or colour-printed paper, ash from coal fires, autumn leaves (these are best used to make leaf mould).
    HOW TO COMPOST:
STEP 1: Stand your compost bin directly on the soil - worms and other micro-organisms will speed up the composting process.
STEP 2: Add an equal mix of green and brown materials in layers. (Optional, you can also add some compost maker if you are using one)
STEP 3: Speed up the process by turning your heap every couple of weeks with a garden fork to aerate it, mixing the outsice ingredients to the inside. Cover your bin to keep the rain out.
STEP 4: When the mixture turns brown and crumbly and slightly sweet smelling, the process is complete.
*This will take around 6 months if the heap has been turned regularly.
*Don't worry fi there are still lumpy pieces with egg shell or twigs visible in the compost, this is perfectly normal.

Poor worms, they're freezing out there :-)) The enrichment of the garden soil in that container has been awaited by your garden.. 🤩🧐🤗 The Tit birds and Turdus Merula will be absolutely over the moon about such a delicious meal. 😂 I´ll now continue to watch your video. 😊

Thank you so much for watching my videos again ---- :) Oh yes, the birds always get excited when they see me head towards my compost bin, and as soon as I open the lid... their songs get louder :D I need to think about the worms in my bin and probably put them back quickly in the composter as soon as possible. I was a bit rough with them in this video :D Sending warm regards Maggie :) xxx

Birds are very intelligent and learn fast about the good, the bad and the beast. Ops, I meant the beauty! 🙃The louder sounds are certainly the alarm call to all the birds out there to gather all together for the feast.. or the possibility of a feast.. Don't worry about losing a few earthworms to the birds, they'll multiply in no time in that rich, warm and dark container. 🙃😘@@lifeisbeautiful-smile

I find an amazing number of worms within my Ecomax compost, too! I love how these bins provide easy access from below for helpful bugs etc. I do find harvesting compost from these bins somewhat fiddly - I've actually taken to lifting the entire unit up (often a struggle!) and repositioning it, so I can get at all the great compost below and then put the less composted upper layers back into the bottom of the bin for another cycle. I've never really bothered doing additional aeration, which possibly slows the whole process but I still manage to generate sackloads of the stuff every year - feels like free money compared with the cost/plastic/impact of the inferior garden centre stuff.

Hello there 🙂 thank you so much for sharing your experience using the same composting bin, it is lovely to know that you too are having great success with this process🥰. Also, the top reason I went for this one is because it is bottomless, so all our critter friends can come and go as they please, so I thorougly agree with you -- I love this feature so much. I find the size of the actual bin perfect as well for my small garden.
Lifting the unit up to access the bottom fully is another great idea! This and the first suggestion from my another viewer below should now aid me and save me from making the harvesting process so hard and back-breaking next time🤣. Thank you so much🥰
I will just need to wear my wellies and other gears and be emotionally prepared for the welcoming earthworms that might wiggle chaotically once I have lifted the bin up.
I usually would use my garden fork to ?turn or mix the contents in the bins as and when I only remember to do it. But altogether I agree you still get good amount of compost that is free and the self-satisfaction you would feel of achieving this is indescribable.🥰
      Thank you - Maggie :) x

Looks to me like you have the right idea here. The only suggestion I have is, maybe raise the bin a bit. That way you can put a tub below it and just scrape it in there. It looks really healthy though! I am a new fan for sure!

Hello my new friend 🥰thank you so much for watching my video, much appreciated. I hope this message will find you well.
Also, bless you for leaving me a very helpful and brilliant advice. After thinking about your suggestion and realising it is actually the best option for me to try. I am going to attempt to move my compost bin around towards the direction where I was sitting in this video. Still keeping it in at the same location but just move the side with the hole at the bottom? (I'm unsure what you would normally call this 😂) Hopefully, this will elevate it a bit and would allow me better height to collect the compost from with ease, next time. 🙏 Thank you 🥰 Have a nice day ---- Maggie 💝 Xx

Brzmi bardziej zorganizowanie i dobrze go wykorzystujesz.

Pozdrawiam Cię serdecznie i ściskam 🥰🧡❤❤ Dorota

Pozdrawiam, Maggie 🤗💝

My compost, i.e. everything we no longer eat and drink, all leftovers and even coffee leftovers, are thrown immediately into the garden and there are neither strong smells nor light smells from it at all as there is no time for it build because the birds, from big to smallest, take care of the waste and if there is something they don't or can not eat, they leave it to the ants! And the ants army in my garden is huge. 😂
In the summer, I often go to the disposed waste in my garden to see what is so far happening there.. and.. due to the warm temperatures, the waste is eaten by all kinds of fly worms after the eggs were lied.. and after a short time these fly worms will be eaten by birds and who survive will eventually become a fly and still be eaten by all kind of birds 😁 and the circle and cycle of life repeats and continues its self .. I don't care if it's summer or winter, my leftovers go straight outside on the ground because there is so much life out there which we do not see.. but they are out there.. waiting.. for something yummy and disgusting to us 😂🤩
P.S.: It's more common for the foul, horrible smell to come from the neighbor's garbage cans than from our.. in this case from the (my) waste I personally dispose of in my yard. And in winter my garbage is eaten by mice, crows and other birds etc. If one takes a look into my small garden there will be no evidence that waste was present. There is no way for it to gather to any scale as long as we let the other beautiful important beings into our little living space as well.. They take care of everything and at the same time they also beauty our places, our spaces. 🙃@@lifeisbeautiful-smile

Very well said indeed @@K.KleopatraK. Thank you🥰
I would like to try and have an open area, it might be small, but something where I can leave some of my cuttings, kitchen scraps etc., to also compost. Because of the size of my compost bin, I always end up having surplus supply of raw materials to be composted. So I have two options: to get another similar compost bin or to find a space in my garden to do a more open approach of composting. I am veering towards venturing the latter option.
🙏 so your sharing of this experience is very well needed for me to finally add this to my to do list this year🥰
      Thank you 💝
