Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt; a young kid with a lotta potential and an old man with a lotta experience; the biggest rivalry in NASCAR. I'm a life-long Gordon-fan, but I can't tell you how much I miss Dale Earnhardt.
Gary pepper does a pretty good Dale Earnhardt Now who would be a good candidate to play Gordon wow that’s a hard one really guy would have to be good with personality changes Gordon was young and cocky but he did know how to talk to Dale even though he was very INTIMIDATED by him Dale knew it but he would stand up to him respectfully them days you had a problem with a driver you would talk it out on pit lane much like today but you never saw Dale and Jeff fist fight yell out each other’s names call each other names Jeff knew who he was and knew don’t tangle with him in the oublics eye cause if you did he would have to make his statement on the track and show you why he was called the INTIMIDATOR SO JEFF DID IT OFF CAMERA MOST THE TIME MADE HIM A BIT SMARTER THAN OTHER DRIVERS LOL
I've never been a Jeff Gordon fan, but for sure I respect him a lot. He is definitely one of the most talented men to ever drive a racecar. I wish I were a little bit older, so I could have watched live the rivalry between he and Dale through the mid 90's. By the way, the footage that starts at 1:51 is precious and will live in my memory for ever..
Rush was literally one of the best movies I've ever seen... Not just the best racing movie, one of the BEST MOVIES ever. If you haven't seen it, it's a must watch. If you're a car fan, put it on your bucket list...
+Fit Guyonline I couldn't disagree more. As a diehard fan of classic F1 I was really disappointed. There was minimal actual racing in the movie, and the racing that was in there felt overdone and unauthentic. Much more Hollywood than racing. Check out the classics for real racing movies: Le Mans, Gumball Rally, Grand Prix, etc.
For sure it definitely be on my Bucket List I'm doing a Campaign to get them both in the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in Daytona Speedway and i hope they put this movie and Thourgh it they can educate the Fans of these guys And Other F1 Legends like Aytron Senna, Sir Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill and even Nigel Mansell who is in the HOF
I’ve watched a lot of highlights of dale and Gordon racing each other. Really wish I got to see it more during my life. Two all time greats. R. I. P. Dale
I was born in 92 in western NC. Tough growing up as a diehard Gordon fan when every single person around u is a Big E fan, two of the best ever for sure.
actually as Jeff their fans had more of a rivalry than they did and he was rite, after all Dale understood how different he and Jeff were yet he took him under his wing and showed him da ropes of how 2 be successful in NASCAR after all who's better 2 learn from when Jeff won his first cup in 95, he toasted a glass of milk while Dale Sr toasted a glass of champagne in return, it was Jeff's way of thanking Dale for his mentoring.
It was a rivalry, but it wasn't a malicious one. They talked shit to each other, gave each other a good ribbing, but they always spoke it with a smile and the other was always able to laugh about it.
Another RUSH 2 would probably still be in Formula 1 with Prost and Senna maybe, but after that if that series is big enough to expand further they might do NASCAR rivalries.
That's how it happened when Dale passed. I was an Earnhardt fan through and through, through blood and water. But later on, as I aged, if I happened to catch a race I always pulled for Gordon and only Gordon. I didn't like Jeff when I was a kid, in fact, like Jeff said, I practically hated him. But in my older age I found myself cheering him on because I recognized him as part of the fading old guard and so if he won or did well I always felt happy.
Why God Speed took Dale Earnhardt life? I bet Jeff Gordon missing more than anybody else except for Dale Junior! What a rivalry, like nobody else up there!! R.I.P "The Intimidator"...
When Gordon married Brooke , a reporter asked Earnhardt if that would make a difference in his driving . Earnhardt looked at the camera and said , "well , now he has the two best rides in NASCAR" . We laughed about that for weeks .
I started watching Nascar as a little girl, which is kind of unusual I guess because none of my family watched racing. I was absolutely fascinated with Dale Earnhardt from the start & remained a die hard fan until his death. I was fortunate enough to have been watching live during some of his finest moments. From the pass in the grass, to the time when he sat on his door frame, steering with his knee during caution laps cleaning his own windshield, to his first win in the Daytona 500 in 1998. Every Sunday I was right there, yelling & screaming at the top of my lungs cheering for a win. When he passed I cried for days. It felt like losing a long time friend. After his death I couldn't bring myself to continue watching and over the years most of my friends have followed suit. It's never been the same and they have officially ruined a sport that, at one time, had such a loyal following. These days it's not about who has the most talent, it's about who has the most money. The drivers of today are mostly young kids who come from money and they will never bring the excitement to the sport in the same way that the drivers of years past did. Back in those days most of the drivers came from poor backgrounds and had to really work hard to succeed in the sport.
I hate to tell you this, but Dale also came from money. He was a second generation race car driver. His dad was a big time nascar car driver in his own right during the 50s. A lot of nascar drivers past and present have come from money. Jeff Gordon however didn't come from money nor did he have a race car driver dad.
@@flobama3247 as a die hard Earnhardt fan, of course I am very much aware of his father Ralph's career in racing. Ralph started racing back in 1949 while still working in a cotton mill and was quite poor. Due to his skill and reputation on dirt tracks, he began racing full time in 1953. His highest finish in points for the Grand National Series was 17th. As most Earnhardt fans are aware, Ralph was very difficult on Dale and made him earn his was into racing the hard way. And as for Jeff Gordon(even though I never mentioned him), I'm not knocking him as a driver, but he would have had a much more difficult path to Nascar without all the money Hendrick Motorsports put behind him because they saw talent in him
I love this video honestly it’s like a mirror you have the young kid who is just starting out and the old veteran of the series man I wish I could have seen them race side by side honestly rest in peace dale Earnhardt we still miss you and thank you Jeff for all the memories for us fans
1:42 One of very few times Earnhardt did not have his famous mustache. He just got back from vacation, and shaved his mustache on the trip so he could wear a mask for snorkeling.
There will never be another pair like these two ♥️♥️💔😥. They liked and respected each other. They were fierce competitors but off track, friends and business partners. When Dale died a lot of light and fun and fire went out of Jeff as it did in NASCAR period. I love Jeff. He's my forever #24 and Champ but I loved Dale too. So wish he was still here. NASCAR was and never will be the same without these two. All the fun is gone for me from it. R.I.P. Dale. We miss you 💔😥
Speaking from a family who's mother and father's favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, and who's Aunt and Uncle's favorite driver was Jeff Gordan. It was one of the biggest rivalries in all of sports. The drivers just didn't know about it. It was a rivalry because the fans knew that on any given Sunday, these are the two most talented drivers on the track. The respect that fans had for the other driver though...on both sides....was never lost. My mother and father and I all rooted for Dale Jr. and Jeff Gordon after Senior's passing. It was almost like we needed two drivers to root for to fill the void he left behind.
Hate to inform you of this but the "rivalry" of Hunt and Lauda was largely dramatized. They were rivals on the track but the portrayal of them loathing each other is false. They actually shared an apartment early in their careers (back then you had to pay for your own accommodation) and also dined together in the same hotel on the eve of the 1976 Japanese Grand Prix. In private they got along pretty well and both respected each other. Besides the 1970's were an easy-going, non-bs era and none of this modern day manufactured drama existed. Media tend to exaggerate all "rivalries". Some of that they create themselves to sell issues.

@mikegrotting rubbing is racing if pussy snowflakes like you cant handle it your watching the wrong sport Dale Earnhardt is NASCAR's greatest driver ever and jeff wasn't even close to Dale Sr

One eerie coincidence though, one got killed in the track, the other is alive and retired to talk nice things about the other....
I'll be old and gray, but I'm sure without a doubt in my mind that we will have an outstanding Dale/Jeff movie. I'm in absolutely no rush. I want it done properly, by someone who gives a damn. And I'm willing to wait till Hell freezes over for it.
personally I believe all Jeff Gordon haters dislike him cause he basically took over the Dale Era! Jeff definitely owned Jr.... Then Jimmie has owned everyone since!
Johnson is only a 3 time champ by points. His last so called championship he finished 7th in points and Harvick had the most. Harvick should have been Champ. 3/4 of Johnson's success is cheating Chad !
Dale knew how good Jeff was. That’s why he was the way he was with Gordon. I wasn’t a Gordon fan, but respected the shit out of him. One of the greatest drivers that raced. I was always a Stewart fan. But growing up I was a fan of Davey Allison. Nothing but respect for Gordon though.
I think like Gordon love the rivalry between him and Dale, was because it felt and looked like Dale was testing him every time they got into a battle basic " okay son let's see what you've learned from last time."
Imagine if Jeff was really under the Intimidators wing. I bet Gordon would have been a DEI driver until his retirement, And Dales retirement would have been spotting for him. Imagine the few years in Gordon teaming with Junior under Sr's command. Would be the modern day stuff if legend.
I don't recall hearing anything about NASCAR going on in Mayberry, maybe the track was up at Mt Pilot. They certainly had moonshine, the worst offenders were little old ladies who happen to be sisters. Otis Campbell could sniff out shine from 10 miles away, since he was always stewed, somebody was moving 'shine. Goober says Hey, Gomer says Golly
Gordon owned Sr, bottom line no ifs ands or buts about it. Jeff tied Sr and R Petty with 7 all time season most points. Imagine had Dale Dr never gotten killed, we never would've had this chase points bs for the Cup, Jeff would still be racing going for his 8th Cup and peewee Johnson would have 2 Cups instead of 6 right now. B France Jr knew the 24 was a threat to win 8 Cups, so in honor of the Earnhardt's they worked against Jeff. When Sr died, 25% of fans stop going to races and seats sold out for another decade, now that the last legendary Jeff has retired every track cannot even sell 50% of the seats. R.I.P. NASCAR.. Isn't it awesome knowing the best thing that has ever happened to the #88 is Jeff Gordon racing filling in for injured never worked his way up Jr? lol
+ Inveigh Libertine. Junior Johnson said if he would have signed Earnhardt instead of Waltrip, Earnhardt would have won at least 10 Championships. One more thing. Just imagine Earnhardt driving that 24 car with Ray doing his magic on the car. The man would have been all but unbeatable !!!
My family and I will always be devout Dale Earnhardt Sr fans ....no one else. When we lost Dale our racing days stopped. Have not watched any since..not even Dale Jr.
If you were to ask me if Jeff or Dale was better, you'd be sitting there for a while. Earnhardt has more championships, Jeff has more wins, but both have an equal about of skill, determination, and grit. Along with Petty, these two are the faces of NASCAR.
Juan Pablo Montoya vs Michael Schumacher was a MUCH better rivalry IMHO. Admittedly, both times admitted differing styles as well as technological advances, but as far as the guttural influences regarding each individual driver is concerned my all time favorite rivalry will be JPM vs Schumi. And JPM wins every time. His heart and soul is always in what he does, no matter the sport. I admire him for that and will stand behind him for it. Not to mention, if they were in equal cars Juan Pablo would have wiped the slate clean of ALL Schumakers. PERIOD.
Sorry but total earnhardt fan and fam is your fan and we loved to fued just like you said but yall made an Era of Nascar and only thing I regret was not being open minded enough to be a fan of both of yall
Ron should try going to a local track somewhere in our country and put together a film that tells more of the truth and not some B.S. that makes a movie look better, but something that actual fans can appreciate as well as all other movie buffs out there. Just saying.
here's my knew trend. If music/noise plays over people talking, I thumb the video down. Take it up with them. Tired of snapping my fingers or tapping my foot to every goddamn video my eyes see. SILENCE isn't that bad people. TRY IT..

RC RACER 88 he has more wins more top 5 s more top 10s more poles and he tied petty and earnhardt for scoring most points 7 times and how you can say jeff isn't even close?

I always thought it was cool that Gordon and Dale were actually good friends. I don't know if it should be classified as a rivalry.
Yea definitely. You're right they did race each other hard.

You sure it’s not just hidden by the shadows there? I almost think I see something.
he absolutely had a mustache, there.. not as evident cause of the shadow.. but, nevertheless... it was there.

R.I.P. NASCAR..
Isn't it awesome knowing the best thing that has ever happened to the #88 is Jeff Gordon racing filling in for injured never worked his way up Jr? lol
You're the worst type of NASCAR fan. You live in a fantasy land. You're wrong on so many levels
Dale 7 time champion and Gordon 4 time champion.
Jeff was nothing compared to Dale Sr
Nascar just ain't nascar without Kyle Busch.
IM JUST HERE SO I DONT GET FINED!
@@reeceschrock396 good stuff
Anybody notice how Ron Howard and Jimmy Johnson sound like the same person ? Lol
lol...your right
My family and I will always be devout Dale Earnhardt Sr fans ....no one else. When we lost Dale our racing days stopped. Have not watched any since..not even Dale Jr.
Jeff Gordon is the real-life Cole Trickle in a way......
OPIE IS THAT YOU
It's me pa lol
Ron Howard and Jeff Gordon explain a rivalry ft. Archive footage of Dale Earnhardt.
We need a Gordon vs Earnhardt Movie!!!!
Everyone notice the 6's howard has on his head. Yea a cern hat. Tell you something. Do you own a cern hat?
Bet that was a awkward screening.
I don't know if dale would sit down with the liberal Ron Howard
PERIOD.
Chunk just shut up
Gordon was Wonderboy, Dale Sr was the Batman
Dale is and always will be the "Intimidator"
Sorry but total earnhardt fan and fam is your fan and we loved to fued just like you said but yall made an Era of Nascar and only thing I regret was not being open minded enough to be a fan of both of yall
What great sportsmen.
Jeff Gordon caught hell back in the day now. Jeff gordon fans caught hell too😂😂
Lol now it's wild thing. I like them all. Racing is cool
Ron Howard seriously just throws on the first thing he sees.
He's a very humble guy, not out to impress anyone. His actions speak for him. Great guy, amazing producer.
Jeff is the best
Kevin Robles fuck yeah mab
+Kodie Johnston can you see my video
Kevin Robles I saw the video Jeff would of won it last year if keslowsky didn't wreck him out
+Kodie Johnston Jeff gordon
Kevin Robles yeah
Ron should try going to a local track somewhere in our country and put together a film that tells more of the truth and not some B.S. that makes a movie look better, but something that actual fans can appreciate as well as all other movie buffs out there. Just saying.
That would be a good movie
Let's go Jeff
Leapson Ritchie I think he would've won the championship if ass hole keslowsky didn't wreck him out
NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS DALE EARNHARDT AND JEFF GORDON WILL ALWAYS BE MY BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
here's my knew trend. If music/noise plays over people talking, I thumb the video down. Take it up with them. Tired of snapping my fingers or tapping my foot to every goddamn video my eyes see. SILENCE isn't that bad people. TRY IT..
One day they can make a movie called
(A pimple on a Champions ass)
Starring the Champion Dale Earnhardt
AND
Starring the Pimple Jeff Gordon
Why???, is Ron Howard wearing a Cern hat?????????????????????????
I was Wondering the Exact Same thing.
