Three things to know before going to Infantry Basic: About 2 months before reporting you need to run and exercise. Meaning, be able to run 2 miles in 12-15 minutes, do 75 pushusp in 2 minutes and 65 situps in 2 minutes. If you can basic will be smooth for you. Besides this.......the life of Infantry- even in peacetime, especially in peacetime- is extreme hard labor all the time. In the cold, wet, heat and anything else mother nature can throw at you. You will be carrying loads on your back you never imagined. Humping those same loads for more miles than you thought possible. Every day. And you will learn to kill. That is your job. If you are still interested....HOOAH!
i absolutely took it personally, i think the real take away is how you respond to the assault of insults and hazing, if you take it in stride you'll be 100% A-OK in osut. understanding the difference between stress and pressure are key as well, pressure is a drill sgt telling you to do some impossible feet and busting your balls to make it happen, stress is not having a backbone, fighting against it, and/or not even trying. I had a totally stress free time in basic because i always went with the flow and i came out stronger and better cause of it. So yeah, take everything personally, but think hard about your struggle, you can let it build you up and make you stronger or you can stay exactly the way you came and not grow/evolve any. Infantry osut CAN improve you physically and mentally as a person, or it could not, the choice is 100% yours. Ive seen dudes come out of basic totally different, arguably better, dudes, and some the same shitbags they were when they came, you really do get out of it what you put into it.

I also like transitioning to doing something better than myself and contributing more to the SMs who have sacrificed more. Any advice? Would I have to shave my head like the initial soldiers or am I treated like a regular MOS-T like at other AITs? Would I be marching everywhere?
In the Infantry, boots are known as LPC's, otherwise known as Leather Personnel Carriers. You will be marching every-fucking-where you go in the infantry. Once in, you will find that a shaved head is easier to manage in the field an a lot cleaner and you will learn to embrace the buzzcut, especially before a 3 week field excercise. Buddy, as a supply specialist if you haven't experienced Infantry types, you may want to make a recon to one of their battalions and ask around about life there. An Infantry company supply guy will give you tons of info. Good luck.
From experience: if you want 11C and Not 11B, then during Basic and AIT DO NOT show leadership or taking charge, just do your job. When training for specific guns, demonstrate good/full knowledge of the weapon system and shoot well on the range. During the basic/ait phases get along well with others and be seen as a team member. Bingo, your drill's will assign you 11C.
If you want hard physical labor during your enlistment; being tired cold wet and hungry very often; having bruises from carrying 75-85 lb rucks over 20 miles a day; being in the field 300 days out of 365, then baby that's you in the Infantry! If u want to be infantry, you would enlist as an 11x with an option 40 contract. You would do your basic and osut then go to pre rasp, rasp and if you pass rasp them you’ll go to airborne and then join one of the battalions

You can request for a conditional release which is what I did. Depends on your leadership and most importantly, your brigade's numbers. Or just finish your contract and re-enlist with a new MOS
Steven Roberts you go through the same paperwork motions to join, whenever that’s done you go to Meps. Don’t tell them more than they really need to know, pass that. Then wait for your ship date after you picked the job you wanna do at Meps. Then ship out. You won’t have a recruit experience since you’ll be labeled prior service and generally get treated like a normal person compared to a recruit. You don’t get “disciplined” cuz you’re prior you’ve already been they that. All the prior service stay together like you dont interact with recruits. Generally pretty smooth transitioning it’s just covid slowing the process for everything down but I’d recommend joining up again anyway. There’s so many different prior service in my group like 90 in one building. But with different floors. More mature people to be around. I think you’d like it
Ale Michelena a lot of prior service are joint right now with the economy or for whatever reason and you get treated way better than when you first went to boot camp. I’d recommend joining up again
If you want to be a linguist and increase your chances of getting attached to a big army division, ranger regiment, or SF groups, I would try and enlist as a 35P with an airborne contract. Depending on what language you are assigned, there's a lot of different places you can go. If you enlist as a 35P without an airborne contract, depending on your language, you may go on a strategic path which wouldn't put you in a FORSCOM or SOF unit. A lot of things will depend on your language that you may or may not get to choose. I enlisted as an 11B and spent my first 3 years in infantry. When I entered my reenlistment window, I reclassed to 35P.
I still scratch my head when all the years I heard of those heavy rucks and extended marches 11 Bravos did, how females now can compete… ??? I’m not meaning to be misogynistic… I just can’t believe it works 🤷♂️
you need a 30 the lowest score. I ended up scoring a 80 and have 2 Bachelor's degrees. I went 11B because I have plans on going to ranger school and becoming an officer.
I had a option 40 going to meps and they fucked shit up and had to retake asvab and got a 103gt 2 of the 105 needed for the option 40 I'm going in 11b and my cousin who just finished said at the end of basic the liaison's come and that will be the chance to speak up (I leave June 2nd for Fort Benning so no personal experience yet)
Basic (BCT) is apart of OSUT. That is 22 weeks. Next is RASP which is 8 weeks, and then you have jump school which is about 3 weeks. This doesn't include the week or two weeks at the 30th AG (reception). Altogether it's about 35 weeks.
Did you already leave for training? If not I would go back to your recruiter and mentioned you want to change the terms before you leave. If you haven't left yet you can change the terms of that contract but...they probably won't want to do it so you may have to push them a little.
Hell yeah! Airborne is the way to go! 3 weeks of fun at fort benning being treated to good food, decent trainers and not so hard PT. Get your wings at the end and be golden!
positivo positivo well I’m prior service so my info might not be useful for you but I got here on the 24th of August and have been basically in holding in reception this whole time. Not literally cuz I was told I have corona but like in general. They require everyone to get two covid tests with like 8 days apart and I just happened to do my second one last week so I’m hypothetically just now gonna be eligible to begin processing this week. These two weeks been chill tho I guess, it’s basically been eating sleeping and working out with all the other prior service. But to answer your question I haven’t began infantry training yet I’m just now beginning reception processing. I still recommend anyone to join now but just realize everything is taking a lot longer now with these covid precautions
I mean there’s a lot of TH-camr who are infantry I don’t see them homeless or with ptsd. And it really depends on the person like you can get ptsd from a car accident, family traumas idk it’s just life 😂
Aww c'mon, that's sad and not true. I bet most of the homeless are failed s-4 clerks and jerks. The infantry trained know how to pull themselves up by there bootstraps and make things happen. PTSD happens.
Run. A lot, and for distance...pace yourself it is not a race, it is distance running. Do pushups. Situps. A lot of them. Drink plenty of water and be fit for size, meaning lose extra fat if you are carrying it. Stay motivated to join the Army, it is a great place, I can say that from experience. You can learn a lot and make a career out of it. What field/MOS do you want to go into? Email me, from my YT channel link.
@@RivetGardenerthere's a difference in being colorblind in the exam at MEPS and being able to distinguish red and green in real life. I'm in the same boat. If I can't renlist infantry I don't want it lol
I dont understand alot of this terminology. What is MEPS and OPAT? Also after basic and AIT/OSUT I thought alot of ppl get shipped overseas to Iraq or Afghanistan were it really dangerous. Is this not the case anymore? And if someone wanted to become Special Forces. What is the process like step by step? You don't have much info on SF or Rangers.
If you scare to go those places then especial is not something you really wanna do. They see more combat than anyone i guess but Like don’t listen to me buyer do more research and Ull be fine. Bless your heart.
I am going in as 11B for the National Guard. MEPS is Military Entry Processing Station. If you talk to a recruiter and you have your stuff right he will ask MEPS if they can screen you if you good then you take the ASVB test, which you get 3 hrs to finish. yes ,that test is long and grueling. ASVB will tell the military what Jobs or MOS you qualify for. I scored a 80 on it and I qualified for Special forces but i am to old. To go SF you need to have scored a GT score of 110 and I scored 115 ,you also have to be 20 by the time you go to boot special forces candidate is 18X , you cannot be older than 29 which is why I can't. We aren't at war, but you want danger go 18X or Ranger with the 75th. In order to be a army ranger you can qualify and get the contract for it or go 11B and volunteer is what my recruiter who was a Ranger and was with the 75th told me.

Does 11b see alot of direct fire
always 😊 if you wanna get in a firefight this is for you
Im at work cant watch the full video but do you get your phone at all during osut
I still scratch my head when all the years I heard of those heavy rucks and extended marches 11 Bravos did, how females now can compete… ??? I’m not meaning to be misogynistic… I just can’t believe it works 🤷♂️
What score do u need on the asvab to join 11b infantry?
you need a 30 the lowest score. I ended up scoring a 80 and have 2 Bachelor's degrees. I went 11B because I have plans on going to ranger school and becoming an officer.
11b10 had it tuff in Vietnam About 30 percent KIA
can you join 11 bravo infantry with a GED
Could you touch on Ranger Regiment/SF recruiters at OSUT?
I had a option 40 going to meps and they fucked shit up and had to retake asvab and got a 103gt 2 of the 105 needed for the option 40 I'm going in 11b and my cousin who just finished said at the end of basic the liaison's come and that will be the chance to speak up (I leave June 2nd for Fort Benning so no personal experience yet)
Cool video
do you do anything in the water for AIT?
I leave on the 31st of may 18x
If you count basic training and osut plus all the schools that you have to go to be in the Rangers regiments, about how many weeks would it be?
Over 22 weeks for sure.
According to Rangers I know
Basic (BCT) is apart of OSUT. That is 22 weeks. Next is RASP which is 8 weeks, and then you have jump school which is about 3 weeks. This doesn't include the week or two weeks at the 30th AG (reception). Altogether it's about 35 weeks.
@@khabibarmageddon7743 30th AG is 5 weeks now....so it sucks
@@khabibarmageddon7743 and you have Pre-RASP which is a couple weeks to a couple months
Shipping out on Oct 11 as 11x to ft. benning.
i pass the asvab and they make me pick 11 x and i can have 92y not fair
Do you sleep 7-8 hours and eat 3 times a day in training?
going by your profile pic, what's the answer to this question?
Hah! In the Army they will feed you 3x a day and treat you like dogs.
Can a short guy enlist in infantry 11B?
Yes
I ship July 13th who else?
Is it possible to get into airborne school after signing into infantry national guard? If it is, what would you recommend?
Try getting it in your contract
@@TheBenAllen. I signed it three months ago
I’m going for a 11b can I get an option 40 during basic or OSUT
Not military but there are ranger recruiters you will find at osut
You should try for 18X if you can. It’s SF green beret selection. I’m at Fort Benning now and everyone is either infantry or 18X
@@scrydworldwide hey bro how is infantry training now with this pandemic
positivo positivo well I’m prior service so my info might not be useful for you but I got here on the 24th of August and have been basically in holding in reception this whole time.
@@bryanquiroga3912 you still have daily pt and pt test they cancel some useless training but experience may vary
Hahaha the new school!!
Its true that combatives is cancel
Yes
@@TheBenAllen. thats sad
I wanna see combat 🇺🇸💙
you want to see combat go to the 75th ranger.
No you don't. Been there done that.
It’s the best job in the world, but you’ll hate it at the same time lol
Airborne Infantry baby! For sure and goodness gracious I have lived it!
Do not join the infantry if you do not want to put yourself at risk of being homeless with PTSD.
I mean there’s a lot of TH-camr who are infantry I don’t see them homeless or with ptsd. And it really depends on the person like you can get ptsd from a car accident, family traumas idk it’s just life 😂
That’s marines bro
Aww c'mon, that's sad and not true. I bet most of the homeless are failed s-4 clerks and jerks. The infantry trained know how to pull themselves up by there bootstraps and make things happen. PTSD happens.
I got a question: Are infantry men still being deployed till this da?
the military is always getting deployed if you mean deployed to a combat zone then that depends on your unit.
Infantry is ALWAYS deployed here and there and then some. I you don't want the life, don't go Infantry.
Are you from the valley ?
Yup!
Im 13 and I’ve wanted to be in the army since I was 4 I am thinking how can I prepare physically and mentally for the army?
Does red/ green color blindness disqualify one for 11 B
I think so.
@@RivetGardenerthere's a difference in being colorblind in the exam at MEPS and being able to distinguish red and green in real life. I'm in the same boat. If I can't renlist infantry I don't want it lol
What has Covid19 changed in bootcamp?
Ben you got drunk af last live stream how are you alive 😂😂😂😂
Because I ain’t not bitch lol 😂 we all woke up at 5:30 that next morning completely fine and watched a movie lol
Hell yea man 😂✊🏼
How long is OSUT?
Feb 1st!
Same same!
Jan 19th 11B
I leave tomorrow 🤙🏽
Yo ya talked a whole lotta nothing 😂
Honestly bro this not even valuable information it’s all vague responses things someone should already know if they join this not for the weak !!!!!!!
Most people don’t don’t do any research before joining
What if you get the bubble guts while your getting smoked?
You just gotta roll with it.
Thats what gloves are for
What’s the age limit ?
