Esterbrook's page for the pen mentions it has a "cushion cap closure to ensure a wet point" and maybe that's what the flatulent sound is when you cap it. Looks like a very slick pen.
Ong thank you for a review. I first saw the pen and wa alike "oh neat! Maybe I can actually try to invest in this!" But the price tag made me make an audible noise.. great to see the pen is good though!
Consider reaching out to Esterbrook or your store. Esterbrook support has been pretty excellent. I bought the non-piston raven and had to exchange it for another with Goulet when the nib threads loosened and not the barrel. The exchange was ok and I love love love it in EF.
This is the first pen I invested so much money in and I'm so disappointed because my cap pops off when it's in a pen case or gets too knocked around in my bag... for the cost I find it not acceptable. I have the same scratches from the cap, even on the section. This was my first esterbrook and not gonna be investing in another 😅
Yes, I was disappointed too. It is sad how you can get “cheaper” but better pens with higher quality out of the box. There really isn’t any excuse. I am sad to hear your experience is even worse than mine. This pen could be something better! My wife had the White Winter one… and it didn’t have any of these issues, which is one of the reasons I bought this one.
Yea everyone knows a always raving about the estie I have never heard a negative thought so I appreciate you sharing your true thoughts, even when we wish it wasn’t so

I bought the same pen and hear no sound when taking the cap off. I got it with a medium nib and it flows very well.
Love my stub piston Raven with Perle Noire, writes like a marker, very wet and smooth.
Mine writes very well too, I’m currently using writers blood as I felt it matched the pen (of the inks I currently have).
I actually have a review of this pen coming out Friday :)
@@CollinsWonder Now that's a wet ink :) Looking forward to full review, subbed.
