I actually developed childhood asthma due to a mold infested apartment when i was an infant. The mold in my case was black mold that grew behind a closet in my room.
My father has developed asthma while he was a child, because of the mold in their house back then. He still has some trouble breathing. (he is not smoking and has never smoked)
I'm DEATHLY ALLERGIC to Penicillin, so I have to be really careful about what I eat. I always have to do the "Sniff Test" on bread. If it even smells sour, I have to throw it away, no matter how much is left. And now, I find out I can't eat Blue Cheese, either. Thank you for protecting me from accidentally poisoning myself. @@teenmonster8667 Yeah, it can. My Paw Paw was the same way. I also have an allergy to Nylon, so I have to watch what clothes I buy. I'm also allergic to Amoxicillin and Sulfa. Sulfa causes Stephen Johnson's Disease in me. So, every time I have to get a prescription, I have to make sure about 10x's over, that I'm not allergic to any part of it. Also, I can't handle regular Tylenol, Aspirin, etc. I have to strictly take Midol whenever I have a headache. It's because Midol is made to be strong and effective, yet gentle on the system. It's tough, man.

I think Resident Evil 7 would have been a better reference than Last of Us. You fight molded through the hole game. There are tons of mold everywhere in the house. Mold infected the brain of the Baker family and controls them. You also use molded water in a bottle for recovery. That makes for the perfect mold reference. ;)

While I was in training at Naval Station Great Lakes up north of Chicago, two of the barracks' on the base had an outbreak of black mold. Not long after I transferred away to my next training command, those two barracks' were demolished.
My g-parents had mold under their house. Made them very sick. Tried to get rid of it but the ones who tried, don’t like to listen. So it grew back. Go figure.
My former employer had top rating at the FDA but the office had a massive mold problem. You could see it in only few places, but I could smell it nearly everywhere! The reason was the neglected roof. During rainy days, we had to put buckets everywhere! It would have been fun, if the FDA-audit was on such a day... We also had improperly stored chemicals and waste and rusting containers, leaks everywhere and I wouldn't recommend anyone farming crops nearby... You don't need to report them any more, as we had the inevitable happen last year: a sewage pipe broke and we noticed it only months later! It was chemical sewage and not your average sewage, thus we're talking about a major oopsy... Big enough to shut us down!
So i came to find out if i should eat my moldy cheese sandwich, meanwhile i sat through a 10min video about mold history and I'm still here with my sandwich in my hand...
