It's one of the SawStops so not a lot of danger but lots of people didn't get certified on it(you could be certified on anything that you wanted, we usually had more than enough people that could take care of a job you weren't certified for). I doubt this will catch much attention, but here goes. This is my story of learning to accept help. As a young Aussie lady, I went from healthy and able to disabled overnight. I had a massage that triggered an MS relapse, and I didn't know I had it. I had a few things go wrong with my body over the years that now make sense. I had apparently had it since I was about 18. I was diagnosed when I was 23. 5 years worth of damage to my body and things being passed off. Now I can at least walk again. I had to learn how to accept help, especially so much, and some of it quite ..Intimate? Almost. I have learned to shower with help, go places, even walking the doggo. I appreciate the help so much. Especially since losing my dad last year as well. He was my biggest help and support. Sorry for the tl;dr tonight. And as always, thank you once again for blessing us with amazing readings and bedtime stories for me!
Hey, I think its cool you shared your story. Personally I think there is no shame to ask for help. Everybody needs a third hand every now and again. Some more, some less. I consider it poitive to admit you may need help and have the courage to ask and recieve. btw cute doggo.
I have a similar experience with my health. Got severe Costochondritis (Rib inflammation) 8 years ago, and it has slowly developed into full body fibromyalgia, along with chronic Costochondritis. I was able bodied, athletic and was working as a mechanic at the time. It took me years to get the help I needed as I had trouble asking, and feeling like a beggar...I still have some issues with it as I'm poor as shit, and money is a constant problem, but in terms of getting the care and medicine I need, I can do that...
I'm ignorant about the condition... how the hell does that work? That sounds horrifying! Sorry that happened to you and I'm glad you can walk again now.
There are some folk (myself included) who are subbed to a few too many RedditReaders, and by the time Rslash gets to uploading a video, chances are we've already heard the stories from the other channels, since they ALL seem to pull from the same top-rated pool. They just haven't figured that part out yet, and are grumpy when they hear him read an "old" story. Or haven't realized that half the fun is in *how* the story is read.
I thought that computer story was going to end with the guy figuring out he was testing the computer on a looping test power circuit. A few places have power circuits which alternate on and off and are primarily just used to see if a part/computer will turn on. Glad to see he was an even bigger idiot than that.

I used to work in tech support for a major computer company, about 25 years ago. I never have understood the notion that women cannot know anything about computers. When I started with that company, women were half the teachers who trained us on the tech support. About half the tech support staff were women. Hell, my older sister, whom I worked with at that job knew more about computers then, and to this day still does.

Easier way to work on approaching those issues without making people defensive is literally doing exactly that, but starting of with something positive. So, try some positive reinforcement first. It doesn't even have to be specific. Just saying "that COULD be the case, but...", or "that's a GREAT IDEA, but..." Are great ways to get people to listen. A simple validation makes them feel listened to, and makes them more likely to listen to you. Plus, this doesn't involve changing much at all about how you say things. Just try to validate them a small amount if possible before correcting someone, and they will be more likely to listen and try what you say without thinking poorly of you at all. Edit: spelling due to mobile

I also had one of those, I got on the list of my mentor to check my screen if something off topic is going on. First I was seated to his back, he had to do a 180° turn to look on my screen through a little window, then I was seated on the big one that had no neighbors. After that, the new guy came, he has something going on, that makes him make a tantrum out of nowhere and in the most attention seeking way possible, one time he jumped all the way to the ceiling and hit his head, I heard. But the following thing is not tolerable; whenever he thought no one is watching, he googled porn and everyone was looking, even I was looking, but my mentor saw me and only told me to go back to work. For me, it's ok in the break to play games or google porn, but not while working. My first time actually able to do something about it was after like 3 weeks, mentor came out and announced something about doing something and noticed his browser with something not work related being minimized, he asked what that is and he replied with some other work related thing, but I said "how about you scroll up?" and then the name of the game got revealed. I don't know if he got a talking or something, but googling porn continued on and only got caught playing that game another time. Note: This is not an actual job, but a facility to learn a job, I was learning Product Designer.

A lot of people don't seem to understand that an individual's waiting time at the ER depends on the severity of their condition relative to that of others in the waiting area, rather than on the time of arrival. If there are a lot of people there, and you have to wait for 9 hours... you're fortunate. Means you're not too bad off. That's assuming you're seen by triage shortly after arriving (where they actually determined the severity), because otherwise it really IS a crappy facility. Along the same lines, I've had a few patients ask me if they could be transported lights and sirens, and had to explain to them "that's only if I think you're really bad off and might die if we don't get there fast. Do you really think we should go lights and sirens?" They always say no.
I was in a car accident(my exs fault) and i was in extreme back and neck pain and i had to wait 10 hours to be seen and they made me WALK all around the hospital despite telling them it hurt so bad to walk and they told me not to be dramatic

Cant believe i married a guy that literally only knew how to use a manual screwdriver but didnt even know that they are called philips and flathead. Im not kidding....he was 24 and didnt know how to use a hammer, read a tape, or even change a flat.
A lot of that comes from never being permitted to DO anything as a kid. >:(
@@josepherhardt164 his was being babied and turned useless. At 24yo he called into work and had his mom come pick him up because he got a flat. He had a brand new spare and jack and 4way in his truck. She came and got him.
I should note he was already married...called his mom, not his wife.
His mother babied him on everything....
How does someone not know how to read a tape measure? It's the simplest thing in the world; no thinking even required. Then again, if he didn't know how to use a hammer...
Jesus I am tool ignorant and even I know Phillips and Flathead, sure mainly because of the gag "that Phillip guy must of had a really f&$#ed up head" but even then.
Jeez good thing he is an Ex now.
Dear God...and here I am, as a young lady, certifying myself on every fricking tool for my "Tech Crew" backstage thing we do for plays and musicals, even the fricking table saw! It's one of the SawStops so not a lot of danger but lots of people didn't get certified on it(you could be certified on anything that you wanted, we usually had more than enough people that could take care of a job you weren't certified for). I know about a lot of the different fixtures and such that we used too, like the different types of screws(corner brace like things too, those were fun to put in). Don't assume you know more than someone else who ACTUALLY knows about the topic, regardless of gender.

As a female tech with the highest ticket numbers, I LOVE the first story.
I had to replay the "Have you learned?" part like 18 times and laughed my ass off each time!! I scared my dog the first time when I busted out the loudest laugh in forever!!
You should always ask for help if you need it, especially when considering your health.
Also I’m glad you’re getting better!

I thought it was going to be because the first time you power a computer, it cycles on and off a few times.
14:05 I've worked retail and the one thing a boss should never do is publicly call out another with the whole staff in a meeting, rather it's good or bad, especially if a raise is mentioned, it's not ment to be shared with other coworkers as it's an obvious conflict of interest.

"The rude, lazy one" oh hey thats what my colleagues always say about me even tho im the only one that is in the office every day. Idk how to talk to people (autism) so i know i come across rude when i say stuff like "but what about" "but have you considered" "but can i instead' "ill do my best" and "but why?"

The first guy, I learned better than to ignore a woman with knowledge just because I know about tech, I was repairing a Laptop and it wasn't turning on after repair, my wife turned to me and said "Plug the ribbon cable honey".
It turned on.

That story about Bob freaked me out, my father works for a company that makes robots for large facilities like P&G and Nestle, I had some suspicion, but I know it wasn't him, it any people at the companies. Edit: worked, he retired a few years back and I forgot.
Waiting only six hours for a room in the ER? Ha! Thats nothing. I once had to wait 9 HOURS just to get into a room.
Damn dude major respect on that one. I can only imagine the pain you felt.
