    I remember watching a programme on TV where they 3D printed a cube that was fitted together by blocky gear-like pieces meaning that you could turn it and twist the cube into a different shape and it wouldn't fall apart, that looked like a cool 3D printed creation.

    I know its been a year but i had to speak my mind , 3d metal printing was out much sooner than the 3d printers we know today SLS vas invented in the 80s and was commercially available in the 2000.
    You probably meant laser deposition welding or something like that.

    3D printing research is also looking at using stem cells to print human organs, like a heart or kidney for example. Researchers have already been able to print Outer Ears and other like simple organs. They think that within 20 years we will be able to print almost every organ, including bone. Welcome to the future.

    How do you get the cast on the limb though? Seems like kind of a flaw. I guess in many cases it could slide on, but it seems like frequently that could cause discomfort and damage.
    At the least, while cool those casts seem very wasteful. Waste of plastic unless it's recycled.

      +Humam Aziz You can, just not the electronics part.

    • @morphiussys
      @morphiussys 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +ArcadeGames You could do the electronics with certain 3d printers, and technically put together by robot, no need for human intervention.

    • @ArcadeGames
      @ArcadeGames 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      morphiussys
      You are right, you could build the frame with the 3d printer and have maybe the same printer assemble the electronics on the board and have the robot put it together. Soon we will have the technology to print anything made out of anything right down to the atom.

      HydraChop432 A lot of people emphasize view count and how many subscribers they have, I just care about making a good video which my small sub group likes. The best thing about being a small channel is that I can remember most of my active subs. I ask for subs at the end just so I can keep having a couple of people return to my channel so its not completely dead on new videos.

    Interesting stuff. Just remember for the future, the word is NOT pronounced "Dodie-ca-HEE-dron". Had you read a little about Greek origins of our words, you'd realize a TWELVE-sided shape's name is comprised of "Do" (rhymes with "doe" and used similarly to "duo", as in "two") and "deca" which represents the number 10..... 2 plus 10 equals 12 sides (hedra [plural for hedron]).
    So... it sounds like "doe-DECA-hee-dron".
    Remember it! Practice it. Quiz on Thursday.....

    what is the point of 3D printing when we already make all of these... cars... house... why buy a crap plastic 3D printed car? fuck that. That is just stupid. Using it for medical stuff... ok... but we are in 2016... we can build amazing stuff with or without 3D printing.
