I love how you practiced with so many mediums!
I don't think any of them were better or worse than another. All of them (aesthetically and technically were done very well), but I see why the alcohol maker one is a favorite!

Fellow uni student here! To help with your death grip on pencils you should start warming up your wrist with them! During the warm ups you’ll be able to feel the tension in your wrist and hand: for example, if you’re holding the pencil too tightly, drawing a circle will be hard because your wrist/hand will be too tight. You can also try pencil grips to make the pencils thicker and more comfortable to hold.
