  • Answering questions about my recent move to the Middle East and how it’s been being black living abroad.
    •Why did I move? Are there black people in Bahrain? How strict is it living in a Muslim country? How was it apartment hunting? How is working with an 8 hour time difference? Cost of living , major differences and more.

    Mabrook on your move 🎉🎉. As someone who's lived there, it was soooo hard moving back to the states. I felt so much safer living there than here. Touching on what you said, people don't realize that crime is low there also because a lot of people who immigrate there from India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines are terrified to be deported because that is how they provide for their family back home which is insane thinking about how much they get paid. Our live-in nanny was paid like $500 a month and that was more than the norm at that time. And I couldn't agree more on how much the difference between what it's like living in a Muslim country is like vs the radical Islamic propaganda portrayed.

      Thank you! Very very true so many service workers are here all alone and send all their check home every month to their wife and kids. Most said they only see them once or twice a year. I already know it’s gonna be so hard leaving 😭😭

    I'm from Bahrain and live in SF, California now. Since I lived in both places, I can definitely say that you did a really good job with the info you provided and the details. I love Bahrain, and I will always come back. I also love the US, but now I started realizing and experiencing a lot of the negatives you mentioned. But anyways having both US and Bahrain to call home is amazing. I wish you all the best and a wonderful time in Bahrain

    I'm a black man, 35 divorced, no kids. I've been offered a position for $100k tax free in Bahrain and $120k tax free in Dubai. Is that enough money to live well there?

    So you mean anyone can go to a hospital & school for free, didn't know that. I haven't checked in to medical or went to immigration yet, but I am going tomorrow. Very excellent video. I miss the cheaper prices back in 2010-2012. Its still less expensive than the states. What spas for facials do you recommend?... I found a Dr. Tariq on google, then end up seeing a billboard with his face off the freeway for facial procedures. I will try him after I save some money up.

    Hello you didnt really touch on haircare especially as a black woman. Is there hair salons for our texture hair that do braids/weaves etc ? Also what jobs are available for people that dont have any affiliation with military ?

    Great video. I make me want to go to Bahrain. When it comes to measuring cm/kg etc ppl need to realize that most of the world use one thing while America does it’s own thing.😂 I’m also surprised that they drive on the right side of the road and the car seat thing is like many countries. Most countries don’t use car seats.😂😂 LOVE that healthcare and education is free.

    Hey, where do you go for your nails?... Are they acrylic or hard gel?... I get mine done at the base Nex, I got sculptured nails with hard real gel, not powder which is acrylic, we've been lied too for so long. My nails were completely damaged from acrylic, so they recommended the hard gel, which is very strong & she put it on thicker too. It's been 3 weeks & and I haven't broken one nail.

      Hi Bella! I briefly lived there back in 2019 and will be moving back with my family and toodler. I had a hard time finding friends from the state since I’m not in the military. Do you know of any fb or any other groups? Trying to find my tribe lol

    • @TheBellaRose1
      @TheBellaRose1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@YandeG1 so most of the groups I know on Facebook are military focused but they will allow you to join anyways . There are also a few expat in Bahrain groups on Facebook . But I’ve mostly met people organically ❤️ one organization that’s great is blackinbahrain.com or blacknbahrain on Instagram

    Does Bahrain have black barbers who are the only ones in the earth who are good at cutting and shaping up black hair because they know how to cut and shape it up because they are not racist?
