- Hi everyone, this restoration was the most haunted so far! I'll restore a Simon&Halbig leather body doll today, and it looks like she used to be a Voodoo doll as her body was full of nails plunged into her! Poor baby was glad to get rid of them, I suppose)
i now am imagining that this voodoo doll belonged to someone who is long deceased and as you repaired it she came back to life and is now very confused, being in a box under the earth 😂😂

Ps: I remember in parochial elementary school the nun brought a box of tired toys in need of cleaning and light repair work. I picked a doll and it was my first restoration. It was fun and I knew it was going to make a needy child happy.

Очередная шедевральная реставрация! Поражает создание одежды для куклы- от построения лекала по старинным учебникам, до самого шитья! Дизайн одежды подлинный аутентичный эпохе, в которой была создана кукла! Браво, Ирина!

You put so much care into restoring these dolls, for me watching this is like watching a mother take care of her child's wounds. And the way you show them off at the end is like the proud mother kissing her child's forehead goodbye before sending them off to play. I'm simply amazed how talented you are and how you manage to repair these dolls! From the body and stuffing (paying extra attention not to waste anything from the original doll) to the clothes (which I always watch in awe how can you sew them so beautifully with every little detail), little accesories and the hair! Every single doll you repair is a unique masterpiece!!!!

So many of those sewing techniques are challenging at full scale. I cannot imagine the skill it must take to do them beautifully at such a small scale. Lovely restoration!

i like to imagine that the souls of all the children who once loved these dolls are aware of how gently and adoringly they're being cared for. the fact that you put in the effort to properly clothe these dollies in undergarments, outerwear, and shoes shows just how much you love them. sure, i find them a tad creepy restored or not, but i cannot deny that it's incredibly charming to watch you giving these beloved babies the dignity they deserve

I love how she turned out. I kind of want her clothes for myself. Her construction is so fascinating; the joints remind me of the paper puppets I made for an art class.

Putting these dolls back together in a way that the original maker would probably have done instead of using all the modern ways we use now.
